they will never be a gap between games. Heck, I might not buy another game for a half a year as I focus on it, then slowly move it to occasional but weekly (for years) driving sessions!!! GT4 took me all the way till the PS3 launched with the GT HD demo. That was the only reason I stopped playing GT4. I actually missed out a lot of other good games because of GT4 and I think that's why Sony kept delaying this till this year (in addition to constantly improving it). Otherwise this would ha...
I just finished BC2 single player mode and I rate it higher because it has a flowing story. None of the skip whole chapters because they are racing to meet a launch deadline, and suddenly there are Russian troops all over US soil. The overall story idea was fine, maybe even good, but the execution was horrible!
I felt cheated after finishing the single player in MW2. I kept on wondering what happened to chunks of the story. If it was fully developed it might have been able ...
If you need the OS then just buy a PS3 slim to keep your gaming right up to date and leave the OS NON-UPDATED one to do stuff with linux or to create a Warp drive! :-)) It's only $299*
*Terms and conditions apply :-)
I think it was mentioned in some article earlier this year.
PS2, PS1, Sega Megadrive, Commodore 64 etc. 3D gaming is now a reality for all those too! :-)
This game looks good enough so now the more important thing is whether the story and action are well designed.
By good enough graphics, I mean they don't distract by their poor nature. While these are not as great graphics as many PS3 exclusives, they pass that invisible barrier to be called great.
For example, I would not have minded a COD 2 with COD 1 graphics as long as the story was great! The gameplay and graphics of COD1 pass that good graphics barrier too! ...
the Multi-player (offline and split-screen is a must!) should be the dessert with the single player being the main course.
There should also be a split screen option for the main campaign where two people can play through together. Game companies should realize that some of us are actually married and our significant other wants to play too! :-)
Aside from Uncharted and GOW III (with the obligatory gross comments)my wife doesn't watch me play most of the other games....
I wish more games would focus primarily on the single player experience to help build the backbone of the story. A good single player experience can lead to a great off line multi-player experience.
Anyone remember Goldeneye on the N64? Well we already have the Bond setting ingrained in us from all the Bond movies but that's what made that multi player that much better!!
A single player experience should always be in the forefront of any good game. You need a good/great story to set the mood and lead to a good multi-player session as a dessert of sorts.
That said, there should always be an offline multi-player option. I prefer playing with friends in the same room than over the internet. It is much more enjoyable and always funnier as you poke fun at each other with varying facial expressions. Doesn't anyone remember playing 4 player in GoldenEy...
Of course I have doubts but these are based on experience with the Eyetoy and PS eye versus the expectations I have been led to have with Natal.
I expected it to track me with 99% accuracy to the point of detecting if I was about to pull a trigger or how much I am pressing the virtual accelerator. Now I wonder how much is fact and how much is just marketing hot air.
If Sony did this the headline would have been. "Sony lied to us!" followed by what a dishonest company they are for letting Activision or Infinity Ward take the heat for this,...... Sony is doomed! :-) Followed by some stories 'confirming' of how 'endless' (0) PSN users lost their money from their account while downloading this.
I would play Heavenly Sword over Heavy Rain. I know that's not really a proper comparison but for entertainment value HS was better than HR, in my opinion. I got more enjoyment out of Heavenly Sword and the acting and voice work was very, very good!!
you still have to move your body to control it. Have you played the eyetoy or the Wii?? The big issue is it gets hot and sweaty quickly and no matter how much fun you have soon your real life takes over. i.e. You get home after a long day at work and if you usually play for a bit a day, the last thing you want to do is jump around some more!
This story would have been true if two things never happened:
1) Sony never released an eyetoy
2) Wii never existed
Now if MS released Natal in the above conditions then they would be by far the biggest console seller.
However reality now kicks in and says:
1) The novelty of the Wii is fading fast
2) The eyetoy was fun initially, but for the some of same reasons as on the Wii, it got boring and tiring after a while. (Who wants to...
Hope to get mine this Wednesday. Though I so busy with work I won't get to have to play it till next Saturday. I just got Heavy Rain yesterday and don't even think I'll have any time to play it this weekend. So it will come down to GOW III versus Heavy Rain next Saturday!
I keep reading about the awesome graphics and just want clarification on if the graphics are better than UC2. In my mind, UC2, MGS4 and Killzone 2 hold a the tied position for best graphics on a console to date.
I think I finished GOW I in about 9-10 hours but GOW II took much longer! So I expect GOW III to be at least as long as GOW II.
Lamborghini!!!
This would be really cool if it's an accurate representation of Gears of War 3. Though I believe this is what Gears of War 4 will look like on the Xbox 720 or 360 2 etc...
We seem to get too tied up in scores that we forget the review. Many times someone has written what looks like a glowing review and then gives the game a 7. I prefer to hear what about the game turns that person on so that if i agree to liking the same things I'll buy it otherwise I'll move on. Some games have gotten 9s and I didn't like them once I played them.
