The decision of un-bundle the Kinect has to be made months ago. I guess this may even be the 1st major strategic decision made by Satya Nadella. Introducing a new retail package means that you need to design, print, deliver the packaging materials, than re-package the non-Kinect XBone. This will take several months. So this decision must be made back at Jan or Feb this year.

I think sideline will be a batter word, right? Actually I think MS should re-focus the Kinect to non-gaming application, like conferencing, presentation.

If your innovation cause you nothing but trouble, then you better ditch it!!

By ditching Kinect (as a gaming device at least), MS not only gaining on potential sales, but also saving millions on hardware manufacturing & software localization cost. The pros out weight any negative.

Or put it the other way, it is still MS's fault by putting Kinect in the wrong market.

No. Titan Fall is the ultimate test! It show that even a killer game can't move extra XBone unit. This once & for all prove that it is the price that's all the matter now.

I can't know because XBox isn't lunch at Asia regions. I think it is caused by the manufacturing & localizing the Kinect. Also I don't want to know because I don't want to paid US$100 more on something I will not use.

No, the market kill it. As simple as that.

No! Kinect is aiming at the wrong customer. I think it will be better suite at other application, like corporate teleconference tool (along with Skype), corporate presentation tool,

The biggest question for a standalone Android Console is: WHY??? I already have 3 different Android devices, a S4, a 7" no-brand phonepad & a media box, which all can play games. I don't see a stand alone Android console to play those same games the 4th time.

I'm playing FF VI on my S4 now! All those emotions, joy, frustrations (random battles!!!!) all come back! The starting characters are all memorable. (The characters from the 2nd half, however, are fillers at best.) They are all complex in emotion, yet simple in their goal. That make them all easy to be liked. And of cause the MUSIC!!!! Beside the Crystal Theme, which is introduced from FF IV, the Terra Theme at the beginning of the game is my all time favorite! I used to start the game ma...

Price DOES affect how a game is good or not-good within their price range. Angry Bird & Crash Candy are great Free games with great game play, visual, etc, WITHIN THE FREE GAME RANGE. Will you paid $40, $50 for the same game? I will not!!
From different review, it seems that MSGV should at best be a download episode.

Let's compare the current straggle of XBone to the 1st year straggle of PS3. It was not any game, exclusive or multi-platform, that turn PS3 around. It was the hardware improvement + lowering the price + improvement on games performance.

These are the same steps that XBone need to take, in order to survive.

XBone IS IN DEEP Sxxx, otherwise MS wouldn't cut the price 4 months after lunch! 3DS has hold out for 6 months before price cut.

I think MS must look at its own pass, on the successful 360 lunch, to turn around!:
1. Ditch the unpopular parts! Ditch Kinect!!!!!
2. Match the price to PS4 (which MS is doing now)This can be accomplished after ditching Kinect!
3. Speed up the world-wide roll out of hardware & software! This can be accomplished after ditching Kinect!
4. Increase the gaming performance, especially the graphic of multi-platform games. This can be accomplished after ditching...

I don't think PS4 will save the Japanese developers from their current slamp. The problem with Japanese developers are that they are losing to other developers around the world, not just the Western developers, from both end.

At the console front, their games are losing appeal to global gamer on both raw visual power, on-line components, & restrictive game-play design.

At the handheld front, the Japanese are also losing, or ignoring, the mobile game t...

No panic for this fanboy, because the fate of XBox is done!
The Signs in the Stars included:
1. The New CEO is from the Enterprise Sector of MS, which, along with Wall Street, think is the more profitable & glorious path for MS.
2. 2 high level departure from Xbox Top management in a month.
3. Last but not least, Elop is famous for killing the number 1 Phone company (at that time).

With such a clear picture of XBox, I will panic no more. I ...

Sony is doing everything to avoid their early mistake on PS3; while MS is making EVERY SINGLE MISTAKE of the PS3 launch, plus some! I'm one of the XBox Fanboy who is considering to switch to Sony PS4. :0

Nintendo is famous for NOT DOING anything analysts suggested, especially from the Western analysts. Just look at their strategy on the On-Line portion of their systems.

Also, like Apple, Nintendo strategy is to control everything from hardware to software. They will never give up the control on their software. Period!

Yes XBone & PS4 will never get Nintendo games (most of them are great), but we have everythings else!!!!!

However, I do miss Bayonetta 2....
