I think we need to wait for the specs to start guessing what the price point will be. I will tell you, the game videos shown at E3, (I know they were early), did nothing to impress me at least. Nothing we have not already seen on the 360 and PS3 - but I will give them time.
I know it will be pricy for a Nintendo system - the controller alone probably would make up a 200 price tag - so if the system power itself is between a 360 and PS3 - I would assume at least a 399 pric...
I have to say E3 was not great this year for any of the major companies.
MS - nothing new - no new IP's - figured that. Kinect games, some looked ok, some looked bad - lag was noticed on many. - Overall - C
Sony - game lineup was great, didnt get the wow factor that Sony usually has - maybe I just expect more - Overall B
Nintendo - horrible start with Zelda and the translator and orchestra. Nothing about the Wii in terms of games....
Both shows kinda disappointed me at least. However, Sony show was better.
Sony - B
MS - C
MS show was a copy of last year, but people saying it was horrible or an F are just being fanboys. There were some good things. Additionally, Sony show was a little disappointing - the Wow factor that Sony usually has was not there. The 3D bundle was nice.
Honestly, Nintendo will have the best show simply because they are showing a new...
An unbiased honest opinion
MS show was a copy of last year. Started with MW3 - thats ok, but a lot of people are getting tired of it - at least true gamers are. Multiplats like Tomb Raider do not do it for gamers. I will give them some credit as some of the Kinect stuff looked good - the Future Soldier and Mass Effect demos worked well and I am glad to see core games incorporate it and not force it on the customer. Additionally, Kinect Sports and Dance Central were give...
C overall. The future soldier Kinect options looked good.
MW3 - dont care - Battlefield reserved
Gears - solid as usual
Ryse - Crytek kinect - maybe, looked ok
Kiddie kinect games (Sesame, Disney, etc) no interest
Halo Remake and Halo 4 - thats good - we kinda already knew that was coming - same with Dance Central and Kinect Sports
However, there were some lag issues with several of the Kinect games...
I can understand people being upset about the network outage, but really, just have a little patience. Are they suppose to just put it back up without it being fixed properly, only to have it hacked and go down again.
Bottom line is this - there are always going to be people who are not satisfied with the resolution. I think what Sony is offering is more then fair, especially to non PS+ individuals.
Now, if this continues to go on for multiple more we...
As a dual console owner - here is why I got the PS3 version of MK.
D-PAD - I am sorry to say the 360 D-PAD sucks for fighting games. Only a fanboy would say it does not not and that it is not an issue. I had SF4 for 360 and it was unplayable with the D-PAD. I had more success with the analog stick.
It does not come down to PS owners prefer fighting games. Kratos and the D-PAD made the choice obvious for dual console owners.
No fanboy here. Own 360 and PS3. But I can honestly say people could learn a lot from this. It is not about being sorry or saying it - they did that. This is a show of respect for the consumers. This may seem trivial to some, but it does have meaning.
Reviews have been all over the map on this one - seen poor reviews to outstanding reviews. Anyways, it is nice to see this sell well for a smaller developer, but I think some of those sales were due to the hype of the game.
Graphically, the game is ok. Nothing mind blowing here, but not a piece of sht either. The story is good, but the campaign is short. MP is fun, but there are some issues with connection, servers, etc.
So overall, it is a game that...
I really think the next gen will not start until somebody shows their cards. So hypothetically speaking, if lets say Nintendo show an updated console at E3 for a 2012 release, E3 2012, I am sure MS would show a console for a 2013 release
I bought it - understand the faults of the game - it is not great or perfect. It does some things good, score seems a little harsh - I would probably give it a 3.
Agreed - 4/5 sounds about right to me.
Doesnt matter if there will be one. For dual console owners, the PS version has to be the pick. My opinion is that the controller is much better suited for this type of game.
Game is ok - have not started MP yet, single player as said is solid. There are definitely some things to be worked on, but I think the foundation is there.
It would not surprise me. Last year, I thought MS would be first, however, with Kinect, they see dollars. It is selling and I think that is going to buy them some time. For Nintendo, yes the Wii sells. But sales have slipped, they offer no media playback, no hard drive, no HD, and a very poor online service. Additionally, in terms of raw power, the Wii is seriously lacking.
I am thinking Starfox. I can not see them going a console life cycle without one and if we believe the rumors, the Wii may be in the last stages.
I have hopes for this game. It looks solid, but as we know, gameplay is the key. I reserved it and will be picking it up, we will see if it can compete.
I honestly do not expect much this year from MS. Maybe 1 new exclusive at E3 to release this year but I do not think it will be more. Kinda what they did a couple years ago, when the showed L4D2 at E3 and it released later that year. Additionally, Halo Remake is not out of the question.
Here is what you will see at E3. They will pump Gears and Forza and Kingdoms obviously. Halo remake and an unannounced core exclusive - That is it Core fans. Sure they will drop some e...
I would buy it if
1. priced 40 or under
2. Graphic improvement using the Reach engine
3. Achievements and Waypoint tied in
4. Multiplayer
This is real all - this happened to me today. Joined a TDM, Hardhat and had the same issue as shown in the video.
