So a one time use product is better than a product that has many uses??? He doesn't understand the possible value to a consumer who wants to get the best value for a game they can. That doesn't mean the consumer wants a shit game that is replayable, it means they want a great replayable game.
If he makes a great single playthrough game so be it. But dont be pissed because a value conscious consumer with options of other products that offer multiplaythroughs are ava...
"Listen, the point of this article was for me to share my theory as to how Nintendo and Microsoft ended up coming to this agreement. I'm aware of the interviews. "
So you have a theory that literally ignores public statements and history of both companies you are talking about. You can and should do better.
"I wonder if you'd be saying the same thing if this happened to be an opinion piece that you totally agreed with."
I go to the gym to work out, I play video games to relax.
"Mobile is the biggest gaming platform on the planet today"
and
"....we believe that could reach hundreds of millions of players in the world. That's what motivates us to do it."
Reading between the lines all he said is they did it because money.
EA never changes.
I dont know where you got your information from but Id rather rely on the people actually making the decisions.
from 2010
"Game On: So did Microsoft really kill cross-platform play between Windows and the Xbox 360, or was it more a developer-initiated death spiral?
Kevin Unangst: It's complete fiction--it never died. The LIVE service has and continues to support cross-platform play between Windows and Xbox 360, and remains the only place...
What do you mean it "didnt add much to the story"?
How could a statement from the head of the platform talking about why they are being so open to other platforms not add to a story about the cause of why Nintendo and Microsoft are working together more than before? I could understand if you didnt find one, but then I would just say you didnt look through the interviews he was giving during E3. Giant Bombs interview alone had some great tid bits on the direction a...
"...but you can't have your cake and eat it too."
I am not trying to have my cake and eat it too.
I dont want more gun control laws (in general, or at least the ones most people mention) because I believe it is a violation of the Bill of Rights.
I dont want video games to be censored because I believe it is a violation of the Bill of Rights.
Thats not having my cake and eating it too, that is being consi...
I like how there is a bunch of speculation rather than actual journalism going on. Why isn't there any quotes from Phil Spencer in this article? He has made several statements that start to explain the "why" MS is now more friendly to other platforms.
We need less freaking opinion pieces and more actual articles of value around here. These people need to learn how to get some damn source information too.
Since when is renting a video game a terrible idea?
I go out and spend $56 on a steak, eat it in 30-45min, and all I have to show for it goes down my toilet.
I could be mad, I could spend less, or I could just ENJOY it during that time understand what I am doing and making my own decisions.
Steam is not your "Safe Space"
Please post a link to 2000+ good games on steam that people cant find. Oh wait your exaggerating to prove a point arent you... Okay please post a link to just 100 games that are good but have less than 50,000 people who bought it. Oh wait you are just making stuff up arent you... Okay please post 10 games that are good but you honestly believe no one has ever heard of it. ...Oh wait good is subjective isnt it. Please stop pretending like good games arent visible on steam.

So you stepped in your own crap twice assuming something about me that is completely false and then when I point it out rather then back the hell up you doubled down and decided to go swimming in a manure field of your own misunderstanding and faulty logic.
"So would you be in favor of censoring video games?"
and
"So you don't want guncontrol because you want to tackle the "real cause"."
"Again, the only reason you're not on board with blaming games is because now they're going after something you enjoy. Nice try at deflection though."
Deflection? Not once have I said that videogames are not a problem in the last 5 years. In fact if you went through old articles blaming videogames where I commented you would know that. But again and again you think I'm defending something because it's something I "enjoy".
@Jinger
Yes you did, but I wanted to drive home the "currently" and also Sony did not respond, and no one has been able to show me anywhere that Sony asked Microsoft for anything and MS said no. This was a "journalist" (At least they did thier jobs back in 2011) who asked both companies about the current policy and feelings and at least MS responded.
Still waiting for anywhere that Sony says they would have but MS said no.
Okay so I followed the Links provided above (I dont know why people cant just post the article I had to go through two layers of stupid forums but I digress) and it is being reported that MS did basically say the same thing Sony said earlier.
"...Because we can't guarantee this level of quality, or control the player experience on other consoles or gaming networks, we currently do not open our network to games that allow this cross-over capability."
...
"Arrogance is DRM policies, then backtracking when they failed. "
No arrogance would have been if they didnt back track.
"Arrogance is having no interesting exclusives. "
Subjective, as peoples taste in games is different.
"Arrogance is releasing a so called powerful console with nothing to show for it. "
Right because people werent complaining about how weak the Xbox O...
Please show us all where Sony asked MS for cross play last generation and they responded with a "No."
I mean actual proof not what you heard.
People keep saying this happened but I cant find any proof.
"That's been blamed too. It's always something, anything but the guns."
Says the person blaming NOTHING but the guns.
Wow, that is one messed up way to view the Division. So here is a question, do those people just standing around minding there own business open fire on you if they see you? You bring up killing people who have committed no crime but time and time again walking down the road you see them attacking innocent civilians. Also all the members of these groups are dressed the same, you can call it what you want but it can also be called a "uniform" which is used to identify people. That is...
