I know I am in the minority but, I miss the days where games were more about the mechanics and challenge and less about the story. I dont mind a good story, I just wish more games focused on playing the game rather then advancing a story. I guess that is just because I am a tabletop/card player turned video gamer. Not every game had to be Dungeons and Dragons with an elaborate story. Sometimes we just played some Blood Bowl, Risk, Chess, Monopoly, Poker and had a fun time.
How sexist of you. Why wouldn't you want the females who do push the industry forward to be leaders?
Maybe try to judge people by merit not genitals.
Like most people you are missing the point. If you want equality, you don't do things like this. Simple as that. As long as there are programs like this there will never be equality since this is the very definition of preferential treatment. Why does it matter? Well let me put it this way, if you had a son who hasn't done anything to deserve being excluded by Sony other than just being born a male. Does that sound like a good idea? We are talking about kids and some kids are being fo...
"No Man’s Sky NEXT Has Finally Delivered the Game We Were Promised"
Later...
"To be clear, No Man’s Sky doesn’t exactly deliver on every single aspect that we’d heard about during its pre-launch phase"
So FU you then with that BS title that you know is factually incorrect and ran with it anyways.
Good to know EPIC is just as much a POS as every other DEV out there.
Some dude somewhere thinks everything.
I could literally ask any question and probably find someone who thinks a certain way about it. Some guy on the street thinks that XBox is literally a gift from God. Apparently I should care because this guy sits under a bridge on a street called Wall... c'mon.
See now I thought that would be a good idea too except the issue of revoking licensing. For instance banning a game and a certain player. I am sure there is a way to do it but to me the blockchain is almost a permanent log that I have bought the rights to something, how do you revoke that? I guess I would just like to see the magic behind the curtains. I can think of a few ways but none that work directly with the concept of the block chain. Although since they control it completely they coul...
Morrowind was my first modern experience with this concept. Jump to level up acrobatics, Block to level block, etc... There was this in other games like Final Fantasy where if you used Black Magic your skill in black magic became better and you got more skills. It was always more fun to play for me.
@madforaday
That is a pretty cool idea.
Sweet!
I prefer RPG games that reward a player for using the specific skills as they use them. I dont want to level up my gun skill then use a gun, I want to use a gun and get rewarded for using it and become more proficient.
I hope this helps those who are super creative to explore some great possibilities.
"Blockchain" is a concept of developing a certain style of traceable logs, its openess has zero to do with it. It is a methodology not a physical tangible thing.
There is a lot of "blockchain" development that has ZERO to do with currencies like Bitcoin.Most companies developing blockchains for internal usage are going to be done privately... It wouldnt even make sense if you got a hold of the chain and could see it.
Okay so I am confused. MS is using the Blockchain now for tracking and payment, which is perfectly understandable. They also claim the Ubisoft has jumped onboard to do the same. But these are already happening. So how does this at all affect anything with Scarlet?
Of course they arent going to stop using it. But there is no mention that I could see of how 1) This benefits gamers in any way. 2) That it isnt used solely from a publishers perspective.

@Rainslacker
"They've already partnered with RackSpace."
Rackspace is microscopic in comparison to AWS and Azure capabilities and datacenter locations.
Rackspace is the butt of jokes in the datacenter world. Maybe its just because I live really close to where they started and know and work in the field that the founder left to go start Rackspace but around here they have a terrible reputation and any of my coworkers that h...
So many assumptions and speculations passed off as fact in this article. There is ZERO actual reference or sources for the rumors and claims.
So many opinion pieces, why cant these people put their feet to the street and get some real articles that arent opinions. This is half way there.
Considering if you already had purchased it for Steam this experience would be free, It sounds like it was more of a pet project for some devs than a way to make a bunch more money.
By this logic why doesn't every game ever run at 60 FPS... I mean all they have to do is drop the quality to get it there. Who cares about quality if you get what you want right?
Maybe they didn't WANT to drop the quality. Why does a dev HAVE to drop the quality? They made a VR experience and maybe it just didn't perform to their liking on PSVR so they didn't release it on PSVR.
We are also talking about VR so what if they tested it and ov...
Well that makes more sense that it is a part of Ataris press release since they have nothing to actually talk about other than a name they are dragging through the mud.
I just noticed it multiple times from articles submitted, but now I see the "Press release" in Bold. Sorry I missed that.
"Unfortunately, the mode won’t be available on PlayStation VR, but that isn’t very surprising, considering that Ninja Theory recommends a GTX 1080 graphics card as a requirement for your rig running the game in virtual reality."
Or maybe it just didnt work on PSVR to the level they wanted.
Glad to see the industry growing.
