"Every gamer who wasn’t a fanboy or a shill could see the dangers and the writing on the wall:"
GFY!
LOL I love how everyone is the enemy in this article, The mods, The Users, EA Support, Shills, Fanboys, EVERYONE!
So what is the best Free to Play game that you dont have to sink time into to get anything out of and offers better features and benefits?
Wait, so let me get this strait, because you dont get what you want, you might as well break the law?
That is such a terrible argument.
Talk about a question that answers itself. If you have to ask then you already know the answer.
"I think that means very little unless they are leads in their deparment."
They were leads, that is the point, which you would have known ifffff..... you actually read the article...
"Brian Westergaard worked on God of War (2018) as the lead producer."
WOW even says lead in the description.
"Cantamassa was one of the key writers for Red Dead Redemption..."
and from his ...
WTF are you talking about?
1) The writer ultimately works for the same company that he is referring to in this piece.
"OnlySP’s parent company Enthusiast Gaming, in collaboration with Russ Pitts, announced the purchase and revival of The Escapist—"
2)The writer at no point takes a negative position and concludes on a positive sympathetic note.
"Whether The Escapist succeeds or fails in its goal will be...
@Sampsonon
I dont think you fully grasp what the article is about. Its not about whether to buy a game or not. Its about "Can games be non political" and "Can game journalists be non political" which has ZERO to do with just dont buy the game if you dont like it.
Good read but the use of so many "big words" when simple and better understood words would have still made the same impact, made the author come off as pedantic. ;)
That is an extreme oversimplification of the issue being discussed. This article isnt just about the politics IN games, it was brought about because of the journalistic side and the politics around WRITING about those games and stances taken by the MEDIA about those games.
We are really talking about peoples ability to voice an opinion ABOUT the games and the politics of the game.
We havent played it yet, how would we know?
You might need to pick a new name ...just saying.
You must not play many types of games if you believe this.
They gonna do to you worse than they did that there feller who stole the chicken for saying something like that 'round these parts.
Though I agree with you I think that we are assuming actions based on a stylistic choice to say those words RIGHT as he groomed the horse.
If I am being realistic it sounds more like time spent with the horse (riding/breaking in) Not going full throttle all the time over working the horse (Stamina management), feed, and water (general upkeep and happiness) are the types of things that will increase the bond and unlock "perks" if you will.
Mecha...
Good luck with that. The few EA employees I have talked with dont share a respect for gamers needed to make this work. Start looking around your own offices and get a real feel for how people think of the same people you are trying to sell games to.
That to me is the crux of why EA continues to go downhill. They are making games but truly some of the people that have working their hate gamers. You cant provide goods and services that are exquisite when you hate the people y...
Here is the problem with saying "You can have faith that every word is nothing less than genuine opinions of our critics." is that you just got caught not being genuine. So either "before" this we werent supposed to have faith and now that this turd is gone we can, or this is just a garbage statement that logically doesnt make sense. It would make sense if they said something about CHANGING how reviews are done and scrutinized. But no they said yeah we "parted" w...
@Palitera
Probably and not really.
Post launch for the first year and a half was terrible. Jay Wilson was a terrible person to the community as people tried to express the frustration of the game, its mechanics, and the like.
I had already stopped playing by the time he quite the industry completely (good riddance). So did it improve after he left, maybe but the first "still post launch" two years was hot garbage from the devs...
Maybe because there day one support was terrible. Diablo 3 launch was the worst launch game I have played... or rather couldnt play, it didnt settle down for 3 days. (I am not saying that there have not been worse launched games I am saying I wasnt a part of those worse launch games this one I was a part of).
Not to mention the terrible PvP (or lack of launch PvP even though it is on the box) and by the time I stopped playing it the "PvP" they did have was a joke....
Not even close, this is the problem with these types of things is that it doesn't account for a both sides type story. For instance if you worked with a person who always pisses you off day in and day out and you and them just don't get along for whatever reason, they come up to you to say something but by the sheer HISTORY of your interactions you half don't listen and half blow off what they say. Then someone who has credibility to you comes over and says the same thing... No bi...
@Tekolie
Good Example, I am not a fan of MOBA style games but that very much is a great example of a great game with tons of support and longevity.
I have at least played DOTA 2. I have never played Warframe, so I am not really agreeing or disagreeing I just would prefer a legitimate discussion of games based on merit rather than a "no its not" type statement.
