Fair enough GodsHand, but then we're in the same situation aren't we? "I have all those games". "The games in the selection are shit." "Why can't I spend the credits anywhere?"
Finally someone gets it. ;)
Oh God. Please remove this story. Absolutely misleading title. Ridiculous.
Exclusives are about defining the ethos of platform. Stuff like Super Mario defines Nintendo's goal for quality, polished, accessible content. Similarly, Sony's emphasis on games like Wipeout in the early days of PlayStation separated the PSone from the "cute, kiddy, toy" image that Nintendo and SEGA carved out for the industry in the 16-bit days.
Without exclusives, what would be the point in different consoles? You'd essentially own a set-top box. You ...
You are right. No one will forget. But people will move on promptly if SCE handle the situation carefully from here out.
There will be some people who will never be satisfied, but Sony's primary aim should be to ensure the core group of users continue to use the PSN and spend generously, while continuing to grow the userbase.
And that will happen if, like I say, they handle the rest of this well. It starts tomorrow with Kaz's conference.
Sorry guys, we had a temporary outage there. Site should be back up now.
Sigh you're right. Sorry about that. I don't have permissions to change it. Will appeal to a mod.
Thursday in the UK. No date for North America yet.
The multiplayer is phenomenal.
No. They're reporting on a quote from a GameStop executive. It has nothing to do with fanboys at all.
Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder if there's a technical limitation that causes it. It's crazy that cut-scenes look worse than the actual games these days though. Always used to be the other way around.
Well a 0 to 1 scale would indicate 'Good' or 'Bad' wouldn't it? Not a terrible idea, actually.
For me, I can't distinguish the difference in quality between a 7 and an 8 (does that one point really make a difference?) so the four point scale is what we went for: Bad, Average, Good, or Excellent. Crysis 2 is 'Good', hence 3/4.
What more do you need to know?
Haha. I think he's just messing around. I still think the table-tennis game in Sports Champions is the best example of motion-control to date but that's just me.
They also released more games.
Sure, point taken. I mean just exploring the vistas and stuff.
I suspect this is a similar scenario to Vanquish. It probably counts just PURE gameplay time. The actual experience is probably more in the realm of six-eight hours with cut-scenes, exploration and other factors figured in.
Spot on sinncross.
Thank you! Finally someone gets it. (Though we pitch it as Bad, Alright, Good and Great.)
The thing is, if a game is already "Bad", why do you need the scale to go lower to say it's "Really Bad". Does it matter at that point?
They were talking about Modern Warfare 2 in that instance. The game is not getting hacked because of the jailbreak.
None of these analysts touch on the most important factor: software. I think Sony's forward-thinking in recent years -- something they never get credit for -- means they'll dominate XBOX 360 in terms of content, like they are at the moment.
I genuinely feel most players gravitate to the cheapest box anyway. Sony doesn't need to invest as much next generation -- it'll be using upgraded versions of the cell, Blu-ray, etc. There is no reason for them to take huge...
