I think having Windows 8, on Xbox 1 will mean cross platform games, MS is already giving hints at that.
I would love it if you could buy X1 games, and play them on PC* and vice versa THAT would be a game changer.
*PC version running at max settings.
Wouldn't say developers are lazy, however they are on very tight deadlines to meet the demands on their publisher/developer.
All the launch games, even the games coming this year are games which have been pushed by publishers to get them out the door by a certain time frame, games like The Witcher 3, Destiny and several X1/PS4 exclusives will show what these machines can actually do.
@Lukas_Japonicus
THEY had problems with the CPU, with infamous... and yes infamous looks great, however it's in the next 3-5 years when CPU speeds etc become important, when 4.5 gigs isn't that much.
Software is more important than hardware, if you say otherwise then you have never worked on servers/routers etc, hardware hasn't advanced all that much over the last decade, more cores, more memory, and have become faster, but no actual improvements...
Basically the title means, 'We are doing more than just a video game' think film/t.v series.
I hope this game is more varied than Far Cry 3, although it was a good game (for the first few hours) it got very tedious and did the same thing over and over again after you get past the first island.
He didn't say Sony is doomed, he stated that they want to post a profit this quarter.
Sony is doing what all companies do, it sells it's stocks/shares, companies, and gets rid of it's staff it need to post a good quarter for investors/stocks and shares to invest.
All companies do this around this time of year.
Exclusivity means nothing to an investor, MS owns the majority of stock of Bungie it doesn't mean Bungie games will be exclusive to MS's platforms.
Investing in a company is a way to off set taxes, to help stabilize a company among other things.
SE, isn't in the same situation as Sony, SE is a software house, the risk isn't high as making hardware/software/etc.
Like every company on the planet, when they aren't doing well the first thing they do is sell off everything they can, shares, sectors, and lastly they get rid of staff something they HAVE been doing.
Loyal to Sony? Sorry but if you are an investor, it doesn't make the company you are investing in 'loyal'.
SE has been making Nintendo games for many years for instance.
The fact that Sony has shares of a company makes no difference, the actual reasoning to them selling off their shares are simple, the first thing you do if you want to do if you are losing money is sell everything you can, get rid of people, and invest heavily into a new product...
Sony isn't doing that hence them selling a lot of their divisions and doing massive restructuring, no business does this unless they aren't making enough money.
Square Enix was an investment it by owning shares of company doesn't mean that games will only come out on your platform, SE have made games for Nintendo before. Companies ALL companies heavily invest in various products, companies etc for a number of reasons.
@chrismichaels04
...
Do they mean each planet is the same size of Reach, or just a Reach level?
Wish they would be more specific about such things.
It's the future for certain developers, who might of not been able to get published any other way.
However it doesn't mean that every game will be published this way, only a select few.
@MasterCornholio
Ubisoft, EA, and several other publishers wanted to stop the used games market, why? because the likes of Gamestop, Wallmart, Game (UK), etc all make massive profits on them.
A lot of stores 'buy', and when I say buy I mean give you in-store credit which is worth nothing, for your game, they then sell the game for 200%+ profit*
Oh and of course Sony wanted to do it, the big publishers stated the year before they wante...
It has online MP.
I honestly think it's the dev kits they have, which means they are limited to what res they can do, until MS get their latest dev kits to devs.
Well KZ based it's enemies on actual WW2 stormtroopers/SS, which had very similar clothing styles.
Just to add to that, many PC devs use controllers when demoing games because it's much easier to show a game than use a mouse and keyboard on stage/or to the bosses.
There a lot more on PC, having more doesn't equal to quality hell the Xbox 360 had a lot of indie games created in XNA studio which frankly had a lot of bad games.
Lets be honest here, a lot of Indie games are quite frankly crap, look at some of the Steam games, so it is understandable not to sign every indie developer on board.
However, MS for some unknown reason dropped the ball with the Xbox One, the 360 had tremendous indie support, the X1 does not. I think several execs had no real clear understanding where they wanted to take the Xbox next, some wanted it to be more orientated on a ALL in One solution others wanted it to be a gam...
A freezer? those are pretty cold...
I hope they have something to show/announce rather than making people wait.
