The author is talking about James Bond games on the GCN or the Perfect Dark game which is pretty cartoony...Are those really the same as L4D2 or MW2? The games rated mature back then are pretty different to those rated similarly today.
@ solidus
I think it is the realism of games that makes it more of an issue with shooters now. The blood, the swearing, the realistic looking-"people" and places.
Yeah zombies are much more interesting...not.
I'm a bit over space marines and modern warfare shooters...
Wait and see imo.
"What kind of men are you? Doing the bidding of your paymasters for handfuls of loose change!…I wonder if you’ll think it was worth it after I’ve come up there, cut your heads off, pissed down your necks and shoved your faces up my figa! I’ll stick your balls on a fork and roast them over my kitchen fire!”"
LOL.
I saw it for fairly cheap at Kmart of all places....
Anything Assassin's Creed gets my interest. I wish I had an itouch so I could play the only AC game I haven't yet: Discovery!
Looks like it'll be more than that.
Í personally would much rather play an open-world Western than a modern cityscaped locale like GTA.
The problem for me is that good games are getting so much longer recently! Too much to do, so how do you decide which to buy?
It's good it has co-op! That's probably the only way I'd want to play it.
SPAM!!
It's always the case: Amazon or somewhere will show something before it's official (oops) then it will disappear from the site for awhile....
But why would only Sony be upset if it's for 360 too?
Soundtrack should be good. Wonder what the price will be.
Well I think it's safe to say that the Bioshock studio won't be making Natal or PS3 motion sensing games from what they say!
I loved the first one...it was so fresh. Still not sure about this one though with all the quality that is coming out now. It's almost as if the traditional Christmas season of top games has been extended.
Yeah there's only about 20 games I really miss from the past. Most of the 'nostalgic' games that get re-released on XBLA or such are like when I see a Miami Vice episode today: horridly dated!
A really good counter-argument there!
I would argue myself though that games like Borderlands and Dragon Age had a lot of free or paid publicity to help them out...I mean any Bioware game is going to get attention.
Yet a game like Brutal Legend and Dead Space (though it did have some publicity) can be good but largely ignored by the gaming public who just love their Modern Warfare. So the cream doesn't always rise...but a new IP does have to be special or well publi...
I could see some interesting experiences like Flower or Iphone sort of stuff done a bit differently with the Natal or with motion control besides the mini-games of the Wii.
The thing is that they will make more $$ if they get all the demographics interested in all sorts of entertainment experiences, which means hardcore gamers and games will become a niche to some extent.
As long as publishers can make money with COD or Uncharted or MGS etc. they will still make th...
I think this is partly why the Wii does so well...games on 360 and PS3 have largely abandoned at-home multi.
When I played the demo it wasn't necessary to do spectacular combos...you could basically do what you wanted, like Devil May Cry. The more experienced gamers can do complex moves, while others can button mash.
Is this true, those who have the full game?
I'm happy with the cars I have...some more beautiful tracks like Amalfi would be great.
Are they going to keep releasing new downloadable car packs? That could be a lot of cars...
Hopefully we out of towners will get a report from OXCGN about what he thinks about the future of gaming...
