There's a bit of controversy there...the Wiimote!
Still some sound arguments there...
I hate my sixaxis but damned if I pay a fortune to get the rumble one after forking out so much for a 40 gig PS3.
@ Belgavion
Yeah some of the prices those more limited figures get just after release are crazy!
I think some of the Collector's Stuff looks really cool but once you have it there's nowhere to put it!
I have that Alone in the Dark one, and I don't even like the game.
It seems rather pointless sometimes, and the wife certainly doesn't understand the attraction to these toys.
Still if you have a certain franchise you like, getting everything to do with it can be an attraction. I'd love to see what others have.
Activison seems to have become the new EA....put out the same franchise with a slight difference over and over.
Seriously just let people download the songs and features...
Cage fighting always reminds me of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome...
Just had to share that...
Some of these so called collector's editions are actually pretty pathetic. The artbooks are tiny with little content, the covers are meh...and they just give you codes to get stuff like soundtracks (I'm looking at Heavy Rain).
I like collectible items with mine and a cool tin case!
@talltony
If that last comment was for me...I tried it and it didn't work. Thanks for the suggestion though! Bubbles for trying to be helpful.
People I know who have played it say it is pretty amazing. They are still deciding between PC and 360 version though.
Ooops just realised I said 'upcoming games' when Mass Effect 2 has been out for ages :)
Don't know...I can't use my saved games for Uncharted 1 anymore even though they are still reading as there on my media bar???? The game only comes up "new game" and "options". WTF
They can only enjoy it if they have a PS3....
Still Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake etc. are still good upcoming games for 360.
Heavy Rain is still a game I'd like to try, so I'm glad I have both 360 and PS3.
Bubbles for that.
I myself am chronically ill and have used video gaming as both escape and pain 'distraction'. Lately I haven't been able to concentrate so much on more elaborate games or shooters anymore and have gone to shorter experiences like Janet's use of DS and more lighthearted and brain puzzle stuff.
It's good that 'gaming' has such a broad appeal these days with such a variety of types. I wish her the best and am glad to see articles with a human perspective instead of just fanboy flam...
Which is usually Wii and DS dominated...
To be honest I agree that games have become increasingly graphically violent, often gratuitously. But then I also see that movies and tv shows are doing the same but don't attract nearly the attention.
Why is it that games are picked on (just because they are interactive?)and why are kids/ youth even getting to watch/play adult entertainment? If there's a link, they are going to have to do better research than: There's an increase in youth violence (if that's even true), there'...
I guess the problem with Tales of Monkey Island is that there really is no competition doing the same thing. If you had all games doing the episodic thing, then they would lose out to other games that put more effort in.
In theory anyway...
Actually that's a really good point.
With the PSPGO the DLC version prices are set by Sony and may not change much, whereas retail copies go down in price due to competition.
Again while this keeps money in the publisher or devs coffers to help them make their games, it could be problematic for gamers if costs never come down. I guess like you said it depends on how much they charge and if they discount part 1 when part 2 is out etc.
I often trade gam...
lol having to be patient might lead you to keep up enthusiasm and be less jaded by a game. Especially if that game is changing to reactions from the gamers.
Australia and many other places in the world do have to get better internet services for this to work properly though...I agree.
Everyone has gotten pretty used to DLC, at least in small form, these days.
I love Flower (well my wife does- I love the concept and creativity), but that's only 1 game.
