If the controls and gameplay work then having a different kind of gaming experience is great...this looks like it would make a great break from fps and action games, but hardly any publicity!
They really should make a best of game soundtracks or such on cd or mp3. Unless there is such a thing?
I sometimes get them with the Collector's Editions. Alone in the Dark was a crap game but had a great soundtrack imo. Tomb Raider Legend had a pretty good soundtrack too (I know it's old, but I remember the motorbike sequence...)
Bioshock also fit the setting. I agree that AC2 was good and Uncharted 2 also fit the game.
It all adds to the whole package.
I think soundtrack is very important for setting mood. I thought the World At War one stood out for me.
I so want to play Thief 4! I loved Deadly Shadows.
Totally agree that software will determine how they do at the end of the year/ beginning of next.
Fun and sophisticated gaming don't always go together for the majority. Wii might have sucky graphics but some of the experiences it provides to anyone (not just gamers who love technique and subtle gameplay) is undeniably fun (at least for awhile and especially if you have others around to play with).
Totally agree: publishers should not be abandoning split-screen multi!
Gamers are always going to want 'real' gaming experiences, but there is a HUGE market that the Wii taps into and holds with the ease of adoption for non-gamers and the quick and fun nature of casual games.
Sure it gets boring after awhile and only has a few appealing gaming styles, but like the article points out: it already wins when it is bought by so many and used so often socially when people ...
I'm soooo sick of space marines and modern warfighters.
I personally don't mind other languages being in the game if:
1) the subtitles are large enough to read (often they aren't, even on a large HD tv) and
2) they don't speak so fast that I don't have time to read them, and
3) there isn't any action going on when I have to read

At the moment I'm impressed with my PS3's ability to show me ABC HD programs from the last couple weeks without even having Play tv!
Innovation needs to be useful. Will I use Facebook on there? Not really.
Boring. We've done the jungle thing already thanks...move on. Also there's been several Vietnam games in the last couple gens.
I still think a UN game which follows several campaigns in different hotspots where peacekeepers have been used would be cool.

Too many hack n' slash releases at once, and this seems to happen a lot: similar games released at or near the same time and then there is a drought.

It looks like based on the staff top 10 lists that only 1 person didn't include Uncharted 2 in the top 10. I would then assume that only 1 didn't play it on PS3 as long as those were all the staff involved in voting the GOTY.

Both are great games anyway.
The Top 10 lists sure have a lot of other console and PC games in them for such a 'biased' site. Even Flower made it, which deserves it for being such a creative idea.

Whenever I've done that the store has done a bait and switch: they have maybe 1 copy of the sale game and really are reeling you into the store hoping you buy something else.
I do the eBay thing though...
