JRPG games sure have a distinctive look don't they? The big blue eyes, the attention to hair detail...
Games that are good for parents and kids to play together (and aren't on the Wii) are scarce these days. These Mario Kart, Diddy Kong type games are good for laughs.
And a Sonic game that doesn't suck!
The PSP GO is better just for the better battery life! Only now you can't get a second battery to put in if you are travelling!
But man the PSP 2000 I had was crap with battery life. Very good that the DS XL decided to up the battery not just for the extra screen power needs but overall too!
I think the old DS might be a good size for kids and their little fingers, but like the review says, most people don't stick the things in their pockets, they put them in their bags.
However, if you are using it for music on walks etc. then you are more likely to want it small. I was using my PSP GO for music and it was awkward- whenever I tried to put it in a pocket it would hit the right or left bumper button changing the song. The iTouch I got is a better size for my walks b...
"Microsoft have been leading the way with Limited Editions, ever since they started making the 1st-Gen Consoles into LE’s prior to the cease of production."
I remember PS2 having limited edition colours like silver and even Pokemon N64s?
I think open world is being overdone: it fits something like Red Dead (who doesn't want an open world Western?) or Assassin's (Venice etc.), but Alan Wake would be a lot of forest...and a tighter story can be told through 'guided' levels.
I remember when Sci Fi and anime was the big thing at these events but it looks like gaming is making an impact too now. I wonder if there were any Master Chiefs running around?
There was something similar done several years ago too I think....
That Halo one is pretty cool.
Post apocalypse and modern warfare....we are such cheery gamers :) I think I'd like some more James Bond escapism about now!
The problem with most games is that they don't have original ideas and have predictable low level narratives.
Novels, like films, can provide a good framework for games as long as it translates into an action-oriented interactive experience.
Everyone I know got this on PS3...even Xbox 360 owners! I'm not into JRPGs but I've heard it has a slow start...
I think these days having a choice of ways to approach a task is the way to go to appeal to everyone: Metal Gear Solid 4 could be done a variety of ways for example.
I'd personally hate to go back to doing a million repeats because I mistimed my actions and got caught again like in the first Splinter Cell.
This one has more destructible environments...
I really don't know why this game or even the next Assassin's Creed needs to add multiplayer to the open world experience.
Still, interesting that they are.
"Imagine being able to customise a single player Modern Warfare maze for your mates like my father tells me he used to do with Wolfenstein 3D back in the ’90s for my mother? Never mind the multiplayer we’ve already seen can work with Far Cry 2."
Imagine...that would be cool in MW or BC!
I loved the Far Cry 2 map making and some of those that others have made that we on consoles get to play with in multi (would have liked split screen though...) are amazing!
Definitely check out that Indiana Jones Last Crusade map!
Lots of Venice and Paris ones, Assassin's Creed ones too!
To be honest I've become more of a mini game type gamer these days.
Well the Sony has specials of the week for PSP GO here in Oz, and Steam always does...so it makes a lot of sense to discount XBLA titles (especially old ones) regularly, often, and in great numbers to promote sales.
Have there been other console submarine games before? I can't think of any?
How this one got past the Aussie classification board but not Left4Dead 2, I'll not understand.
