This game is so much fun and I love affordable (and especially free) new content!!!
Me, I like to boost my achievement points, so I get 360 titles if they are on both (also I like the 360 controller better)...I'd be restarting my 'trophy' score on PS3 since my completed games wouldn't count.
There isn't enough difference between titles yet to make me shift and buy multi-platform games on PS3. DLC would only affect me if it was significant.
On PS3 both Siren and SOCOM are going to be downloadable...so Sony does seem headed the same way.
@ Lonewolf
I think it may be more a matter of aesthetics not just 'perving'. I'd prefer to look at a graceful female game character and listen to a sexy female voice than a Marcus Fenix man-mountain with a gravelly he-man tough guy voice. Mind you I played as a male in Oblivion...
True...unless the copy with extra stuff looks/ plays much worse (boy do the Bioshock PS3 shots I've seen look off...does it really look that bad on PS3?)
I still think most content should remain on disc rather than save some for downloading later at profit...but I suppose downloadable content is the way of the future.
I'd like to see more single player stuff added to games later rather than just multi maps...
News is out and then over; commentary on the other hand gets people thinking about implications and giving their own opinion. I'd rather an opinion I can agree or disagree with using news than just plain news.
Yeah I thought it was pretty interesting...though I barely manage with the number of buttons there are now!
Though I like my PS3 fine, I don't agree that it has surpassed the 360 with regards to technicality of games. I buy most of my games on the 360 and they look just as good and play better with my prefered controller (360). This could change and PS3 may long term have better tech in games, but at the moment I don't see it. And yes I do have MGS4.
I am amazed that the PS2 just won't die. It really is amazing that games are still released...and the kind of games that casuals in particular want and the console is so affordable.
Could the PS3 last through another gen too?
Splitscreen and BOTS....Timesplitters are STILL among the most fun at home multi games out there for those reasons. Stuff online...it's increasingly only fun for those who take gaming too seriously, drunks, or those who can't get some people together at home.
There should be the option of both. COD does it, so there's no excuse for other shooter games not to.
The guy is right: MGS4, while brilliant at times, was way too self-indulgent.
And the PS2 DOESN'T have shovelware by the load???
True...but for how long. I don't know many places with old consoles except the PS2 now, except Ebay. And eventually most consoles this gen will die...they aren't made to last like the olden' days!!!
@ PirateThom
You make a good point, but I like to trade in or sell on ebay old consoles when I upgrade. Plus the old things will eventually die, so I'd rather be able to play on the new one.
I agree though...most players are probably more interested in upcoming games, but some are still worthy of a go much later during slow periods. (Thief 3!!!)
I remember when I finished Resident Evil 4 I wanted to go back and play all the previous Resi games. I managed to play most.
Think about those new to MGS who want to play previous MGS games after MGS4 to work out what is going on! No backwards compat on newer PS3s!
Me too!! Midtown Madness!
I think there would be plenty of pissed off Sony fans who don't like that they removed backwards compatibility!
So what if your 360 gets the RROD sometime after Xbox 720 is released and you can't find them like the current Xbox? I'd rather have my new system able to play some of my personal 'best of' games without needing ANOTHER console in the living room....
I just think it is such a little thing console makers can do to help get people to migrate to the next system and provide them with nostalgic value with some games.
Too many games are being released with technical issues still in them. Games should be released when they are ready and not rely on updates to fix more than mild glitches.
I guess this will feed those waiting for the next gen version....
