... and we see how well the single player only games have done sales wise!

I believe Vanquish can be gotten for $35 right now, a mere two weeks or so after release. That is like what, a record?

I love single player games, and play them the most, but frankly people aren't buying them. It is a dying breed.

So WTF happened to reading a book? Playing sports? Socializing?

I love gaming, but let's face it too much of anything is bad for you. Balance, like Ying and Yang!

That is because there are a lot of bad ones!

How much crap do you find in the indie game section? Not to say there aren't good ones, but there is an abundance of really bad ones!

Keep in mind that the beta was pretty short, and once you make a bug fix you have to test the bug fix as well to ensure you don't introduce new bugs!

The beta is more to make sure major problems don't occur.

Give it a little time, and if it still not fix there is nothing like a little bad publicity won't fix!!!

Let's face it, no matter what game is included it will be an instant fail when you compare PREFERENCES instead of game quality.

I don't know about you guys, but both Forza 3 and Alan Wake are highly rated games. I don't play racers, but I enjoyed Alan Wake immensely.

Man does it stink like some kind of pissing contest in here.

With that said, what part of "There are 45 million consoles sold in 35 countries" do people not understand! It clearly says 45 million SOLD! SOLD!!!

How does that in any way say shipped? Yes, the gap has shortened remarkably fast for Sony. Congrats to Sony!

Now let's move on!

It tracks in 2D, there is no depth sensing!

Unless you think a square is a cube, then it might be the same for you.

I'm pretty sure the $500 million ad money budgeted isn't spent in one sitting over the holidays. It is likely spread out for the fiscal year, but I would like any accessory to be properly supported. A large ad campaign like that certainly speaks volume of the support MS expects for Kinect.

Anyhow, is that half a billion dollars confirmed or is it just a rumor that has gotten propagated as truth?

Yeah, I like the fact that you can't just shift your identity at will without some penalty.

That way, people identify more with their online identity and prevents people from abusing the system, then just changing their gamertag name or just create a new account altogether.

Way to simplify things!

Can a vanilla webcam:

a) recognize you and track your body joints?

b) recognize voice?

c) allow you to navigate the interface with no controllers or buttons?

d) recognize depth?

e) have more than 1 camera?

That's no different than saying that a square is the same as a cube or a flat regular TV is no different than a 3D!

Kinect is looking pretty good and very responsive too!

Only a few more days....

Yup, and yet pre-orders seems strong!

There are plenty of reports of pre-orders selling out, analysts saying positive reception and even market surveys are reporting positive consumer sentiment.

On top of that, you have been able to try it out since this summer and in fact most videos I have seen (amateur or pro) shows that big smile associated with engagement and fun!

But hey, you can listen to the reviews of a group of people that the devic...

Yet...

As of now demand is unsure, we will know once the product is released for a while. However, sales to casuals are slower, but steadier.

So far, all indication is that it will sell really well this holiday.

Free is Free. Android is released under Apache License! It's not Linux, but it sure is released under the very same license that the free Apache webserver is released under. You know, one of the major webserver software that is probably power the majority of the websites in the world!

If you have any proof of fees, show it to me! Don't make assertions without any information to back it up.

Either way, it doesn't change a darn thing. MS just like G...

"Not much profit...?
Oh right...I guess the GOOGLE'S Droid op is free, huh?"

Android Operating System is open source and free!

It is released under the Apache License which means you are free to modify and use it as you wish. That is one of the reason why it is so popular, but it also opens the individual companies for lawsuits.

On the other hand if the operating system was licensed like say other software such as Java, ...

Their innovation isn't trying a lot of ideas, but rather take an existing one and improve and fit into an existing market.

Name any idea, and I can almost point to someone that did it in the past so really the idea of innovation doesn't hold anymore.

That's funny, because Google generates most of their profit from ad revenue through their search. Not much else has produced any profit!

If you follow the news, MS is poised to do very well with Azure, their cloud tech competing with amazon.com.

If there is one thing MS understands, it is enterprise and that also happens to be were most of the profits are!

Yes, MS has made some mistakes, but remember when Apple almost went out of business...
