I think improvements are always possible. Summarized from the article:

1. Integrate Kinect directly into the dash instead of it's own section.

2. Only allow one person to control the voice commands.

3. More/add voice control in games.

4. The pause menu user interface that is accessed by a specific standard pose should be standardized.

5. Show the camera view with a layover determining best play area.

Yeah, I think you should really give up gaming since another group of people happen to like a different type of games than you.

Since the casuals didn't like the same stuff you do, they must also be sheeps!

Wonders what I would be if I followed your advice and did not buy Kinect? Another sheep?

It's kind of funny that we now resort to "Bigfoot" type sightings of GT5. Come on Sony, just release the darn game. Fans have been eagerly awaiting and you are just torturing them!

"Once again, the most important part of kinect is its potential."

So you would rather have a peripheral that has no potential?

Kinect has so far been a fantastic device. The first time you boot it up and you start waving your hand to use it then deploy the voice control and it just works, it is a fantastic moment.

As a core gamer, I do enjoy Kinect Adventures. Not for long period of times, but it is a nice break from sitting ...

"Hey that's how the wii was when it first came out, people went to others to play it, then they got bored."

Apparently they got bored and bought Wii Fit to the tune of more than 20 million copies. More than anyone hardcore game this generation including multiple console platforms.

Because casuals aren't as dedicated to your hobby doesn't mean they aren't using it. Maybe just not as much!

Sony also removed the Linux feature in the name of hackers!

That affected legitimate users!!!

Clearly "Kinect selling out" at amazon.com, best buy and so on was NOT a speculation, because you couldn't order Kinect!

If you look on the chart for amazon.com, it might not say what the numbers are, but it certainly give you a relative ranking.

Go ahead, look right now and at the time of this writing you will see that orders for Kinect standalone unit is in 3rd place right behind Black Ops for Xbox 360 and PS3!

It's alread...

Personally, I didn't have much problem with Kinect. It had some minimal lag, but nothing like what some people might suggest. It is definitely playable and a lot of fun. We all had a good laught!

With that said, check out the user reviews at amazon:

I'm looking forward to anything Ninja Gaiden. My favorite game of all time is NG2! Took me forever to get the dreaded 1000/1000 achievement!

I will keep an open mind, but worried it is Hayashi taking over the series direction. He hasn't really done anything worth speaking about...

See what you did was say something positive about MS/Kinect. That automatically negates anything you might have said against it.

You need to get with the program here on n4g.com!

I think people should really try Kinect out. Navigating the Kinect Hub and using voice control is really cool. It works really well!

That said, the Kinect Adventure game was good, not great. The river raft and the obstacle course was fun, the other was kind of crappy.

The quality across the games and even on navigation alone is quite different. I suspect MS will have to release a unified interface to ensure quality across the board. One example is navigating ...

I'm hoping it is a patch, and not altogether different edition. Unfortunately, Konami is known to make several editions just like Capcom....

See now you are just twisting my words around or misunderstanding me.

"Now you're kind of conflicting what Microsoft is saying. If a month or two is hardly enough time to ramp up production, then how do they plan to meet demand by this Holiday season? You can't say that they are raising their sales expectations for the Holiday and then also say they wouldn't be able to supply more to meet those demands in the time needed.

No, I said no such ...

I don't recall Kinect already running out the week after PS Move's release. Regardless a month or two is hardly enough time to ramp up production, package and ship it to stores in time.

Kinect units don't magically appear in the warehouse, they have to be manufactured and assembled with parts from many vendors.

I believe that if MS up their sales projection like that, they must be very confident. You can play around with shortages and stuff, but ...

5731d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

No, it means they sold out of current stock and expect to sell more than anticipated.

It makes no sense to create artificial shortages when demand is already high. Going from 3 million to 5 million units is a huge leap.

In fact, if anything it seems Sony is the one creating artificial shortages. They stated that they sold one million "units" of PS Move, yet supposedly there is low stock. That means they barely produced any... or they are withholding...

So much for limited stock at retailers. It now seems instead that MS will have to push out as many units as they can to meet their sales target that just increased 66%!

"In the end, which one is better for gaming isn't going to matter."

It's not about which one is better for gaming, it is which one is better for the experience the customer desires.

PC has superior controls in almost every way, yet consoles with their pads/controllers are now a bigger industry.

With that said, I agree with you why post a video to a group of people that already support the PS3 and then make yourself look bad...

You mean like how software sales in the US is still better on the Xbox 360 over the PS3 and Wii?

Piracy must be killing the 360, but I would like to ask what is ailing the PS3 with no piracy?
