The only reason it won't be a loot box MT crap fest is because of the failure of that plan in Battlefront 2. But I absolutely guarantee that was the original plan for the game. It will still have that crap but it'll be dialed down a bit from the original plan.
Games is always out in front on PS4. But if I am in another menu and I tap PS button it also takes me to games, more specifically the last played game or whatever disk is in the drive. And if I hold the PS button it takes me to a configurable quick menu.

I have zero ads on the PS4 desktop except in the "Whats New" section which is logical since it's called "Whats New" And on top of that area the thing you always see first is never even an ad It's the last thing's your friend's did, to see an ad in the "What's New" you have to scroll down a ways.
That just looks like a mess to me. I much prefer the simple UI on the PS4. I put all my games into folders so there is only 4 icons on the desktop. Then a simply click left right up of down gives me access to everything I want.
Who needs all that clutter? When I turn on my PS4 I just want to load my game and start playing.
