I find these charts to be questionable. VGchartz keeps reporting these huge gains for xbox and I'm not saying xbox isn't selling better than last year but these 30% figures are extremely hard to believe and don't line up with NPD (which yes I know isn't global) or other tracking firms.
I'm interested to hear what Sony's numbers are at E3, I have a feeling vgchartz will be under tracked by a larger than normal margin.
With PS4 the tech in large part was based off existing older tech. If PS5 is using 7nm Zen and Navi those will be basically top of the line newest chips on the market.
Microsoft seems pretty averse to change and the risks involved with change. My guess is the next Gears will be more of the same when it comes to game play.
That's funny recently I been playing classic (S)NES games I have played hundreds of times and I played Ni No Kuni last months in anticipation of the sequel. And I keep putting off my third play through of Nier: Automata. I have also played Uncharted 4 twice and I want to play Lost Legacy again too soon. And after I played Ratchet and Clank I played the PS3 games for the 4'th or 5'th time and ...
Fastest selling? Get back to me when it's best selling and being compared with other companies games made this generation. All this does is reaffirm Microsoft is nothing but a hype machine hyping shallow games half truths and false promises.
I wouldn't mind a Frozen Wilds / Lost Legacy style expansion. But if the game is complete that's cool too, I really hope Sony gives Cory the chance to make his own IP like he's talked about.
People never learn. It should be obvious how Microsoft's hype machine works by now, especially after seeing the beta. But some people quite honestly never learn.
I agree that it has a curation problem but I disagree that it will ruin Steam. The thing is, part of what makes PC so great is it's openness. It's unfortunate that great games get lost but at the same time one persons trash can be another persons treasure.
That's one of the dumbest comments I have read. If you buy digital you'll have to download those too...But I can unplug my PS4 from the internet and play the game with out any downloads at all. Can you do that with digital no.
I can sell the game to resale for money, can you do that with digital? And what if one day they stop offering that game for download, will you be able to play that game, no. But I will. And don't say it'...
Because it costs money to make new games. The profits from God of War will be turned into the next God of War or the new IP Cory wants to make.
Quit pretending it doesn't matter to suit your argument.
A Game Pass would have turned 25-60$ into 1-2$ I am saying that games will make more money by selling traditionally than by offering a Game Pass. You can see how SoT numbers dropped DRAMATICALLY afte...
Yea, digital sucks. Games are almost always cheaper at retail than even when heavily discounted digitally. There are tons of games on this list that are "40+% off" that I paid far less for at retail and I actually own a disk.
People like all sorts of games from point and click to Telltale styled games. This whole "interacting movie" thing is just a cheap way to try to reduce the value of Quantic Dreams games. That crap started last gen when Xbox fans needed an easy way to break down Heavy Rain which was a unique exclusive they couldn't play.
Don't worry Activision isn't going to stop making Call of Duty just because some people enjoy more story based games.
You say this stuff... but what game do you think will have more profit God of War or Sea of Thieves?
Remember when when someone buys a month of game pass only a fraction of that is actually profit for Microsoft. They have to pay to have all the other games be available as well as Sea of Thieves. Each month someone buys Game Pass for Sea of Thieves Microsoft is actually probably only getting a dollar or two in actual profit. Where as God of War which will likely sell 10-1...
