I think this article hit the nail on the head. Sony really needs to market this thing well because the mainstream audience won't buy into it unless they see the same casual value as the cheaper 3DS and iPod Touch Apps. I think that if Sony allowed the Vita to download apps from the Android Marketplace that many everyday people would buy it and increase the market for it greatly.
I honestly think the Vita is going to sell like hotcakes. As soon as that call of duty game they announced comes to this they're going to open up a multi million person market for all the hardcore fps fans. I know I'll be getting one as LBP on the go is simply to good to pass up on.
We all have to understand here, this "Next Gen" console is matching, or maybe slightly outperforming current generation consoles such as the PS3 or Xbox 360. When the PS4 and Xbox 720 come out, their advancements will blow this thing away. Without a good enough gimmick to make up for the lack of power (like the Wii's motion control) it will get set aside and forgotten about.

This one is definitely a hard one to figure. People who want a 3DS want it because of the screen and the fact that its a DS. At $300 Sony is gonna have a hard time winning over any of the DS market as the DS already has a large and devoted fan base. Back then more power didnt mean better games but thats a different story now. Developers are going to make games like Uncharted, Killzone, and Meta Gear for the NGP simply because it can uphold the graphics. And everyone knows that those will make good games
