Wouldn't you feel cheated though, playing an amazingly fun next gen game and it had current gen graphics?
Just remember the jump between Uncharted 1 and 2. If we see a jump like that from what we already have from Killzone and multiplats like Watch Dogs, then there is gonna be some serious eye candy to behold
I think it is advantageous to focus on the PS4 with the launch pending. Its critical for them to build up steam and hype before the launch because they need to pull ahead as soon as possible. A solid install base means more customers, more games sold, and more money to invest in development. The platform that takes the lead first will get lots of positive press and word of mouth to further promote sales. Therefore its critical to have a strong launch. That being said, i think they will still ...
I really don't understand the argument on "the more powerful console doesn't make it better". That may be true, but it certainly doesn't make it worse? the reason multi platform games sell more on the Xbox 360 in the US is probably because the 360 has sold more in the US. It's an opinion article claiming itself to be fact
Sony has said that all games will be playable on Vita as SOny is requiring it from developers. They can do that because the PS4 has a chip on board that runs the video compression natively for developers so they dont have to do any extra work besides map the controls to the Vita. So all games will work on the Vita except for those that require a peripheral like the camera or the move. But your standard Killzone, Infamous, WatchDogs will all work
The developers have stated that the current gen versions look better than the Aisha Tyler trailer
I don't know about you guys but I'm really intrigued by what Media Molecule is doing for the PS4 with their Move controller. Motion controls aren;t always the best for gaming but they do have some serious potential in creation.
This article seems to imply that there will be a PS4 release but not an Xbox One release. I highly doubt a company like RockStar would ever do that
A Vita exclusive God of War or Gran Turismo could do wonders for the sytstem in terms of capturing the dedicated gamers. But the key to selling portables is the addictvie nature to casual games. Mario and Pokemon alone sell the 3DS and Sony would be hard pressed to come up with a new iP that can rival the legacy of Mario. That leaves Sony in a tricky position. Do they go after the hardcore market that isn't as interested in handhelds, or do they go for the casual market where they will ha...
I'm really hoping for some good news at Gamescon. A US EU price drop to 179 or 199 would be an excellent start as well as the announcement of a handfull of quality system exclusives and at least one game that can actually move some hardware. Games with that sort of power are God of War, Gran Turismo, and Grand Theft Auto. That bioshock vita game that was suggested a while back could be a huge selling point as well.
As I'm sure someone else has stated, Naughty Dog created their engine on the PS3 to be scalable and designed the engine to run at a much higher performance than the PS3 could ever run. Therefore the PS4 engine should be able to squeeze lots of optimized juice out of the console since theyve spent years refining it
I understand that the system downloads in the background, I just find it ironic that they title says things youll never see on the PS4 and the screenshot for "no download bars" comes from the PS4.
Don't be so sure ;)

It's pre-alpha code, that's likely to happen even if they ran it on a computer. The system can only work with the code it;s given
Additional power over the previous gen means so much more than graphics. It means more detailed environments, bigger worlds, more seamless gameplay, deeper more integrated online experiences, better physics, more lifelike characters, more intelligent AI. All of which make for a more immersive game. I'd say that goes a long way in differentiating the last generation from the next. Even out of the launch titles, these aren't just current gen titles with pretty graphics, they are new and...
For an MMO, sales in some way or another, do have relevance. More people playing the game means that the online community will be more vibrant and will have greater longevity. That being said, both versions will be equally great.
I like many others would've preordered driveclub but the developers themselves have said that the PS+ version has all of the features without some of the cars and tracks. The preorders for Driveclub are low, but i predict that with PS+ it will be one of the most played and purhcased launch title
I must say, my favorite PSP games were Secret Agent Clank and Patapon. I spent countless hours on those games
It's makes alot of sense for Sony though. Now, nearly everyone will have PS+ which means alot of developers will want to have their games be offered for free on PS+ just because it means that maybe a 100,000-million people will play their game instead of a few thousand. Sony can pay developers a single dollar of our $50 subscription per download instead of $5 for the usual game because Sony knows that it will sell way more ands the developer will make just as much money. The developers ge...
They aren;t only selling it as a peripheral they just really need to build the install base with fans that love to buy games. If they can build up the install base there will be more and better games developed for the system fixing the drought thats been occurring. Say the PS4 costs around 375 normally, as Sony is saying they are not selling it as a loss. And the Vita, they are almost certainly going to drop the price to 200 or 175 and I would bet it only costs them 150 to make them, having ...
