I can't wait until they hire someone inspired by HR Giger as an artist.
"I know for a fact that the current Murlocs are loathed by the artist who redid Arthas as a giant biomechanical cosmic horror. We do have plans to update additional mobs into horrendous befanged fourth-dimensional monstrosities that Should Not Be at some point in the future."
I like the direction they're taking this in, and that they seem to be listening to the public, but I'm yet to be convinced that the execution will be there. We'll see.
Some really neat ideas in there. We'll have to wait and see how it all pans out over the long run, though - I, too, can see some of the stuff in there just getting irritating after awhile.
Good to know they're not going to be... competing on the same ground, as it were.
You weren't a fan of the Wii PES? I thought it was better than the last Wii FIFA.
I actually thought one of the earlier FIFA titles (the PC port, at least) had it but apparently not.
All of the FIFA games needed a new direction, really. They stagnated years ago. Now, though, it looks like there's something being done about it.
Honestly, I dunno, but I think I want in :) The idea intrigues me even if I think it's gonna be difficult to execute.
I'd be intrigued to see how this works. I think that free-to-play does tend to associate a kind of... lower premium with the title, making people think it's worth less than an equivalent paid title, but I also reckon that for anything to topple WoW (which, let's face it, is an aberration as far as MMOs go) it's going to have to find a new payment model.
But will it *work*?
Egads. I find it kinda surprising that was even an option.
Is there any real reason for EU players to want to play on the NA server? I mean, assuming they have American friends who're playing it, then they're presumably on the EU servers already so there's no point in moving across, surely?
Wonder if this'll cause the same amount of contention the last one did, or if it might actually patch things up with those who took issue last time...
FFXI's gameplay doesn't require balanced factions for large-scale warfare, though. Can you actually choose which FF server you want to play on yet, or does it still autoassign you?
I'm amused by this still being referred to as a flight sim despite Ace Kills, Energy Attacks and the like.
But then, I'm a hopeless pedant.
Or it's indicative of huge amounts of problems and a short delay can only fix the most serious few.
Exactly. I still don't think this is a bad sign, really - it's true of EVERY MMO that isn't WoW; WoW has just skewed expectations of how an MMO should perform, and has given new MMOs a much bigger starting audience. Said audience will still drop off rapidly and then stabilise over the course of a few years, maybe growing again after that, but it necessitates server merges and closures after awhile.
This sounds quite a lot better than expected. I dunno if a decent darts game is really what I'm looking for, but... Hm.
Difficulty curve-wise it sounds like it has the same issues as Virtua Tennis, but if the multiplayer's there, then who knows? Might just be worth a purchase.
I wasn't expecting the Sims 3 to drop this far this fast, I admit, but I think it'll climb its way back up.
Sounds like it deserves it. I can only imagine how soul-crushing this must've been if you were expecting Theme Hospital.
