omg. I'm sorry to be an ass, but most of you have NO idea what you are talking about.
There is no such thing as a "license" in music rights management. Its called "mechanical rights", and the ONLY way to acquire the mechanical rights to a piece of music is to PUBLISH said music under your name with a major publishing company, or to PURCHASE the mechanical rights to an already published song, therefore allowing you or your agents/company to use it in ...
What!? Do you just not like music?? I don't know how the soundtrack could dissapoint, as there's a station that pretty much sums up ever genre imaginable, aside from jazz and classical.
hmm... wait.. (sniffs the air).. that smell.. it's a troll!
Radio stations do pay royalties to the artists through either ASCAP or BMI (yes there ARE only 2 major publishing companies, at least in the US). Before an album or track is released, the artist, producer, and songwriters decide what percentage of royalties will go to who, and then publish the song through ASACAP or BMI.
The producer cannot do "whatever he wants" as he will only legally own a portion of the precentage of royalties assigned to him, through the pub...
The people who are calling Daz Dillinger "unknown" or a nobody, should scroll down and realize that everyone else who said that same thing has already been corrected by people who know better. Hip Hop fans know his name and music very well. Just because he didn't acheive the uber pop name recognition of Eminem or Jay-Z, and YOU never heard of him doesn't make him a nobody.
Just like a lot of hip hop fans would know Metallica, but if you mentioned Opeth, t...
Yeah, no. Daz Dillinger doesn't need 5 minutes of fame, he's already had 20 years of fame as a prominent member of several West-Coast hip-hop crews..Maybe YOU never heard of him, but given your Gn'R avatar, I'm guessing you don't listen to hip hop. Daz Dillinger and everyone else from The Dogg Pound are pretty well known to hip hop fans.
Also, I'm unclear as to why Dillinger is upset? He should be collecting royalties from 2 decades of producing and g...
Foxtrot, you'd have to be slightly delusional to think that at least 80% of those negative comments and downvotes were from Sony fanboys. People in support of the XB1 wouldnt leave negative comments, people who are simply Sony fans (not fanboys) wouldn't stoop this low, and the general public isn't aware enough of either product to really care that openly.
I'm sure a portion of those comments were from former Xbox fans who were turned off by the XB1's ro...
FACT CHECK:
*ONLY FANBOYS ARGUE ABOUT WHO IS A FANBOY AND WHO ISN'T
*BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE ONE SYSTEM OVER THE OTHER, IT DOESN'T MAKE YOU A "FANBOY" OF THAT CONSOLE OR COMPANY.
What makes you a fanboy is your inablility to be OBJECTIVE, and your inability to understand that not everyone likes what you like. What makes you a fanboy is your inability to live and let live... your need to insult and cast out anyone who doesn't...
Well since technology has improved over the decades, videogames have become an interactive storytelling medium, and that's one of the main things that I think has moved the genre and industry forward.
If we were all still playing games to beat the high score or save the princess, we would'nt need these new high powered consoles. I give Cage and the Quantic Dream studio a lot of credit for trying something different.
@ j4re - "As far as I'm concerned more than half of this site is filled with rabid sony fanboys who sure seem like assholes. We shall see. And yes this is directed at you. Yeah you, the one with your mouse on the disagree button. Grow up and stop treating gaming like it's something that truly matters. It doesn't. "
SO. TRUE.
Have another bubble for that well said comment..
What doesn that even mean? Who said anything about 360.. other than the troll called GentlemenRUs
I totally agree with ape.
You can love or hate GTA IV, but Niko was, by far, the most developed and relatable character in the GTA series up to that point... more than Johnny K from TLaD, more than Luis Lopez from BoGT, more than CJ, Tommy Vercetti...
onyoursistersback, read ape's comment before you go off on your superiority trip. He said "Niko is the deepest most realized GTA character ever", not "most realized Rockstar created character...
I dunno man, It doesn't get much more mainstream than a 360 no-scope ;-) Every 5th grader in the world knows that move
I LoL when people try to do stuff like that in BF3.... only to get sniped by someone shooting out the side doors of a helicopter
Yes, but if having Niko as your characters Dad is anything like having John Marston for your Dad, you can turn the 'resemblance' all the way to the Paternal side for a spitting image effect.. I did this, and My characters face IS john Marston's face (albiet with different hair and a beard
Whoever MONETIZED the DLC craze should be shot.. and then shot again, only to be revived and subsequently shot a third time. After all, THAT person is the tool that ruined gaming.
When DLC first started coming out consistently toward the final years of the orig Xbox/ps2 era, and even into the start of the current console gen, it was worth it. It came out months after the game released, it was always either free or reasonably priced, and not a condition of preordering a game,...
Videogame prices have always been high. I can remember for my birthday one year as a kid, My mom and Dad agreed to take me to Toys R' Us after school and I could buy Super Mario Bros. 3 (I desperately wanted it after reading a full length feature in a Nintendo Power issue)
I remember my mom and dad being shocked that SMB 3 was like $40 bucks.. where other original ninty games were anywhere from $5 to $25
Also, Call of Duty's yearly sales figures have indicated mainstream acceptance of voilet cut n' paste shooters for years now.
After all, things that aren't accepted by the "mainstream" don't break sales records like CoD.
I'm confused by this too.. but this is from the article..
"After a few hours of research i found out how the file loading works in the game engine. Happy to say this is a 'disk2/common'-only mod (should work on both JTAG-consoles and Burned ISO). no other files were changed. Current: Trying to get Niko's hands and feet models to appear correctly."
Not sure if that clears anything up.. I'm not sure what the above statement means a...
TechMech2 can now be added to the (very long) list of people on N4G that think they are so smart in putting down a game they've never played
Your comment makes you look pretty dumn. Forza is a simulation. Maybe it doesn't have night racing or alll the different styles of motorsports that GT has, but it is DEFINITLEY WAAAAAAAY MORE COMPLEX than "more of an arcade style collect your cars, sell your cars, and paint your cars".
I agree.. I'm going to try it for myself and ignore review scores. After all, this type of game can bring low review scores from critics because they will say "the gameplay isn't fun", or something like that. But "fun" is highly subjective in terms of videogame tastes, right? I mean, a lot of people criticized Heavy Rain for being driven by QTE's and button prompts, but I thought that game was loads of fun and sank a ton of hours into it, trying to achieve e...
I got a chuckle out of it... funnier than every comment below malokevi, who decided he wasn't funny then proceded to make further lame jokes about everyone calming down.
