BF3 hype train derailed. I don't know why it was hyped to try to take down CoD sales in the first place? That is not at all what it should be. It's a realistic and large scale military FPS with vehicle combat and a better sense of team-based gameplay. It is not going to appeal to the mass market of gamers as much as the individual small map competition in CoD. And if it did appeal to that broad of a market I think battlefield fans would be upset with the product.

Yes, I assume you are talking about the 2 seconds of PS3 footage in the trailer, or the video of the devs playing it on the jimmy fallon show. But that's a pretty weak amount considering the game is out soon.
I mean, everyone knows why they are doing it. The console footage of BF3 will be comparable to both BFBC2 and MW3. There goes the huge competitive advantage that they currently have on PC.

I honestly don't get where you BF fans get your information from. Both companies release a new game every year. And both companies have been rehashing their core gameplay. Have you seen anything new from BF3 except for PC graphics? If you have, then PLEASE tell us about it.
Awesome - console footage and showing us a bit of innovation in the series. Two things the 'amazing' competition has failed to do.
I wouldn't be pre-ordering either of these games for console. Much like David Jaffe, i don't understand how BF3 blew up so quickly. They haven't shown me what it will look like on my console, and they haven't shown any new innovations to the multiplayer gameplay. As far as i'm concerned this is as much a gameplay rinse and repeat as the hated CoD, but with really really really nice PC graphics.
Pre-orders for PC - yes, I can understand those.

BF3 amazing PC graphics aside, the core gameplay of each series is unchanged. MORE PEOPLE LIKE INDIVIDUAL GAMEPLAY OVER TEAM BASED WITH VEHICLES AND LARGE MAPS. Time to stop posting these articles.
EA and Dice have been doing all of the talking. Activision has laid pretty low. The ones most hyping up MW3 are the BF3 fans!

BF3 = BF2/BFBC2
So why should you expect anything different in sales or quality this time around? More people like the MW series and have more fun playing it. Stop trying to convert people and just play what you like.

Hate to tell you this, but when you sell that many more times than your competitor, that is a vouch for quality. Do you think people are forking over 60 bucks because "my buddy told me to do it"?? LOL. People hand over their money because they have a crapload of fun playing the game.

The latest video proves that the PC version of BF3 looks better than the xbox 360 version of MW3. EA/Dice are afraid to show console footage because all this time their huge edge has been in the graphics department.

I think you have it backwards. I see no CoD fans in here trashing BF3. On the contrary, check every single CoD article, 50% of the comments are about BF3.
Every time i see "BF3 footage" in a title, it's a reminder of the lack of 360 footage for this game. Seriously - WTF is going on here?? Even those 'other guys' managed to release 12 minutes a month and a half ago.
If you wanted a great looking great selling PC game - nice work. If you wanted to get some decent sales, what the heck are you doing?
The article was seven underrated and underappreciated games of 2011. MW3 in November has nothing to do with whether you play Mortal Kombat in April. Another horribly titled article just trying to get hits from MW3 haters.
LOL. Yes, 15 million people will pay 60 bucks because it's "the cool thing to do". It has nothing to do with the fact that the game is fun and addictive, and a great way to prove your reflexes against friends and gamers worldwide.
I hope MW3 is as fun as the first two and I will buy it. Along with BF3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Gears horde, and (hopefully) Diablo 3.

I'm looking forward to both. MW3 will be more of the same addicitive gameplay. BF3 had better be top notch after all the trash talking they are doing.
It won't stop MW3 dominance sales wise. CoD players like extremely individual play, bragging rights, small maps. The core gameplay in both franchises is about the same so there's not going to be the huge crossover everyone thinks there is.
Also, while the EA/Dice PC marketing has been phenomenal, their console marketing has been pretty poor. With console and multiplayer footage leaking out, the average gamer that has been impressed with BF3 but never played one is...
