It's an opinion piece done by someone who has actually used both, though. We won't know what the public majority prefers until launch but that doesn't mean there aren't indivduals who have already used them and already came to a personal conclusion.
Both have features I'm curious about. Rumble triggers sound interesting but nothing too game-changing. The toughpad on the DS4 however looks really promising. I hope its put to good use in games and not something completely overlooked in the same way Sixaxis was.
I'm mostly wondering how the new analog sticks are going to feel. I'm so used to the DS3's triggers I'm not sure how the new concave design will feel. I hear its better and allows more control but...
I'm not much of a racer so I'm not sure what the message is here. It's more of an arcade racer?
I was expecting it to be more of a sim since all the fetish talk they did about the graphic details.
Not for a while they won't. Give it a year or two and they'll start subtley pushing them back out though. Though its possible some games will be built to need the "cloud" even for singleplayer. Which will in turn require internet.
They did say you wouldn't need internet for 'offline games' not 'singleplayer games'. Many would argue that the two should be considered one and the same but perhaps with this 'cloud' business they will...
Cool render. Old though, this has already been shared on N4G. Can't find the old one to back up that claim though. Still, same one as before. Just a different website.
Does he come with a biotic charge?
@Nature
Plus, since you already have a gaming PC you're pretty much covered for any Xbox game you might want to play. Many of the games that Xbox likes to boast as being 'exclusive' to the Xbox are on also released on PC.
Playstation exclusives on the other hand are truly exclusive to the the Playstation. A combination of PC and PS4 promises to make a very nice gaming setup, imo.
Depends on how you look at it. Technically the 'free' games you get with Playstation Plus are paid for since its part of your paid subscription. So for me, yeah. My first game purchase will be digital. DriveClub Plus Edition.
I hate to copy/paste stuff but facts are facts.
"1.84tflops is vastly superior to 1.23tflops (about 50%)
7GB GDDR5 RAM dedicated to games is vastly, VASTLY superior to 5GB DDR3 RAM dedicated to games."
I'd agree that nothing shown yet has really been phenomenally better than the other console's offers. But thats only because the consoles aren't even out yet. Wait a year when the consoles are out there and the differences...
Duh...
I suppose we all have our concepts of 'winners' these days. Did you participate? You're a winner. Have a trophy.
There are websites dedicated for stuff like this. Decal skins that you customzie and make (or choose from a selection) then you stick them on your console. It sounds like cheap stickers sure but they actually do look really nice and professional. If you want to dress up your console you should check it out. They're pretty easy to put on, anyone could do it.

Yeah its is mandatory but you're not paying less for it. You're paying more for it. If you wanted kinect-like features of motion control you could buy a Playstation eye and still end up paying less.
Though I grant you all that television-intergrated stuff is, so far, only something Xbox is doing. If thats your boat then you're the target audience.
If PS4 and Xbox were the same price I would grant you to some players the kinect makes the Xbox mor...
@Imalwaysright
You realize to some countries the PS3, when released, was actually MORE than a $1,000 right? Europe was one of them I believe.
@newmonday
Who brought up one-time internet connection? Anyway, the fact is that Microsoft defended themselves with this absurb notion that they couldn't change the policy so we better just accept it.
When someone (in this case, lets go with Angry Joe) remarks that it should be easy to just switch that stuff off their response was essentially "you dont know what you're talking about, dont pretend you do, this stuff is really complicated." ...
Sure the Kinect has potential but it also relies on the assumption that everyone has a big, mostly empty room with plenty of space between themselves and the kinect sensor.
I'm willing to wager that the average person does not have so much clear vacant room between themselves and their console.
Also, just a little sidenote, not all games will need Plus. Free to play titles, for example, seem to be, well, free. So it isn't like you'd not be able t...
Hank Hill?
I get what you're saying but if you think they wouldn't do it because it'd make their fans feel cheated then... well, any other time and I might had agreed because it seems like a low-blow to pull on fans. But after recent events? Yeah that totally seems like some BS they'd try to pull off.
Hard to say that I hope it doesn't though because that would be like saying "I hope it doesnt go lower in price". Its a difficult slope. On one hand if it lo...
I know nothing about the game (other than the obvious) but I'm already interested. That is some great cover art, imo. Surprising to see its american, we usually get the crappy version of cover art while the cool 'artistic' ones are reserved for other regions.
Wait a moment. The game isn't even out yet and has two DLC on the way?
Goddamnit EA.
