+1 trillion. He's an a**wipe. He needs to STFU and try to actually deliver on some of his hype with his next product.

I just know I'll want to play me some of those mini games when I'm 90!

So you only spend $4.12/month ($49.99/12) on food for 3 kids? Someone should report you to child services. LOL.

Seriously, I can't imagine my budget being so tight, that this amount makes or breaks it. Doesn't seem like you can afford the cost of ownership of a PS3 if this is the case for you.

That said, we'll see if the content is worth approx $50/year. I'll probably try it out for a year and then decide whether or not to renew.

"there is a difference though you actually NEED to pay for XBL in order to actually play online"

Ummm. No. MS CHARGES you for something that is FREE everywhere else because you are dumb enough to pay for it. They could make it free quite easily if they wanted to give up the idiot tax for XBOX owners but it's too lucrative.

It would be like me charging visitors $2 for oxygen every time they visit my house. Most people have the sense to say "...

+1. LOL at all the retards above and the original article for not understanding that correlation is not equal to causation. Take a logic class, gang.

Shovelware is a SYMPTOM of a successful system not the cause of, or necessary for, a successful system.

whenever I try to play.

Domination and acquisition can't even sustain queue sizes big enough to be playable without horrendous wait times during NA non-peak hours.

MAG is a trainwreck as an MMOFPS, IMHO. So much unrealized potential.

Last thing it needs is a new game mode to further divide it's hopelessly thin player base. You'll see a spike with this new mode and then it'll be even worse than ever after it all shakes out. The...

The DS series is designed for elementary to middle school aged kids. The PSP is targeted at the young adult and hip old person (hardcore gamer) market. And some gaming omnivores (like myself) buy both.

The iPhone and Android phones appeal to the adult and young adult market MUCH more than the 3DS which will be another inexpensive kids gaming platform with tons of shovelware and a few great titles from the big N.

Sony should worry much more about retaining th...

Ten pounds of pure ground beef, delivered fresh daily, to Gabe's office courtesy of Sony. That's what I heard anyway.

I think it's really nice of the XBOX guys to pay to beta test all of the DLC for everyone in advance.

3DS will be a completely locked down system and have a bunch of shovelware just like the DS, except now it'll be "3D". Really, this is what it takes to "win" E3? you guys are clueless. Nintendo's stuff is always underpowered with crappy gimmicky controls. I'll probably get one on principle since they'll be cheap but I doubt it'll be that much more thrilling than my day one DS.

Definite agreement in my experience. I have a DS and it's really worthless to me as an adult core gamer. Nintendo == "kid's toy", this is true for both the handheld and set top console markets.

That's why Nintendo'd stuff sells like crazy, though. Adults needs are complex and their tastes and requirements are fluid and changing. Kids and their parents just want cute cheap games, and MOST IMPORTANTLY there are simply way more kids who play games than ...

I don't understand why Nintendo gets a free pass from everyone all the time. How are new entries from decades old IPs not going to make their base hardware suck dog balls? How the f*ck can anyone consider a new Metroid, Mario, or Donkey Kong game exciting.

Sure the 3DS looks really neat but that's it for me and handheld gaming is about 5% of my gaming time.

As long as Nintendo's stuff runs on the Wii, I'm unimpressed, they need new hardware ...

It's like the 1v1 Fighting games were in the 90's: It'll get crazier and crazier until it gets over-saturated at which point it'll peak, decline, rebound and finally plateau to a nice healthy level with a core player base and some long standing franchises that continue to evolve.

Shooters are ALWAYS going to be a key genre in video games even when technology changes the medium. It's too fundamental a game type to go away completely but nothiing is the fla...

That's their entire design strategy.

COD1,2,3,4,MW,WaW,MW2,BlackOp s,Mobile/DS
Guitar Hero 1,2,3,4,5
etc

These are "used" game concepts and engines, reskinned and rereleased ad nauseum.

Right on Blackcanary... Asking for new set top console hardware at this point is retarded. The two leading edge platforms are far from tapped out. Nintendo is the only company that needs new set top hardware but those units are selling like crazy so who the heck would blame them for not doing anything revolutionary?
