Skyrim didn't make that point handily in 2011 by selling twice that in like 1 month or anything.

It's a racing game, all a hub or adventure mode does is seperate me from the things I actually care about. At best it's tolerable, usually it's just annoying.

I don't think a lack of major shakeups is a bad thing anyways, all the talk of innovation fails to account for the fact that there is a lot to be said for perfecting something that's already been done, especially ginen it's not a CoD or Fifa situation where it's virtually identical games o...

Do action games get a pass for mediocre story?

A game isn't just defined by the gameplay it's more than that, and gameplay isn't necessarily defined by combat. (wanna guess how much time I spend fighting in Morrowind compared to walking around and talking to people?) It's good in an ideal world, but we live in a world with limited time and resources and I'd rather any game let something suffer to make something else great if that's what it takes, an...

No, it isn't. Deus Ex meets Mass effect to tell a James Bond story good idea, but bugs asside Alpha Protocal screws it up on a number of levels. All the boss fights are bad, as in Deus Ex it claims everything is viable but really stealth is *the* way to go, it's playing with old and tired genre stereotypes it calls characters and plot, it doesn't treat women particularly well overall in that all of them are in place to support the MC and all of them are damsels in distress at some...

Ever tried to emulate an Xbox on a PC? Despite years of work, it doesn't. The 360 struggled in places and had a limited selection too, I don't think easy is the word.

It should.

I wouldn't use it because I have an AV switchboard and my original Xbox is sitting in front of me, but it should anyways. That Xbox won't live forever, it's software shouldn't die when the hardware does.

Unused=/=unwanted. You will need to pry them from my cold, dead hands.

I still play PS2 games, I even have an N64 and SEGA genesis to pull out on occasion, and I've put shameful amounts of time into Jet Set Radio Future. In 10 years when good old PS3 games are $90 a pop and finding the hardware to play them difficult at best, I'll still be playing Bayonetta just like I'm still playing Persona 4 and just like I'm still playing Starfox 64.

The haircut wasn't the problem, it was the indication of the problem. In general, character designs can tell you a lot about the tone of the game.

DMC isn't a terrible game, but it is a terrible DMC game (even DMC 2 knew to keep all the campy humor.) When you're a reboot of a genre defining game, merely being good isn't enough. You get graded on a curve and OK may as well be dog ****.

As it happens, the creators of the original DMC still make ...

You people know that wether you're a pirate or not has nothing to do with this being BS? You're installing a program that allows a 3rd party to access your HDD and disable things they don't like. That PS4 or Afterglow controller you use to game? The original Xbox games that you can't even buy new? They can just decide to kill them.

It won't reduce piracy (pirates are the people who know how to get around this crap or where to find people who do,) and red...

It's a BS anti consumer practice intended to stop piracy that hurts the paying customers while pirates will crack it inside a week just like they do all the other software based DRM and they'll be rewarded with the superior experience.

In short, it's because EA is stupid and figures the best way to prevent piracy is to provide an experience inferior to the pirated versions.

Still has always on DRM, still not buying.

1) Assumes "pirated" games are even available from the publisher. If you want any but the most popular games from the PS2 era and back whose IP is owned by someone co-operating with sony/steam/GoG you *cannot* get them in a way that gives money to the publisher.

2) Assumes a pirated copy is a lost sale. Not the case even a little.
A) you can't prove they would have bought it in the first place.
B)They may own a legit copy (w...

Guess who still isn't getting an Xbone and is buying the game used just to spite SE? This guy.

2 words: **** this.

Gameshows have to be limited, video games do not. They're denying people the experience for no reason.

Nobody who knows how to use steam will bother. It takes 27 seconds to emulate any PS1 game you might want for free, and any more than 5 bucks for digital copies of 20 year old games is highly unreasonable.

I'm all for being able to get this stuff legally and support the devs, but not for that much money, not when they're just gouging because you can.

Daggerfall is 2 provinces. Technically both Morrowind and Skyrim have 2 provinces, Solstheim belongs to Skyrim in Morrowind and Morrowind in Skyrim and you visit in both games.

You seem to be confusing review scores with reviews. They aren't the same thing.

You also seem to have missed that there are actually 2 distinct types of review. The consumer guide type and the artistic criticism type. Arguaby a 3rd, purely technical type has a place, but it usually gets covered in both.

The very simple answer is "Yes." Customers deserve to know what they're buying (patch notes and a bit of google will tell you if any p...

**** no. I don't care if I could give them my PS3 and get the PS4 for free and PS+ for life, not happening.

Emulating as PS3 borders on impossible atm (it's definitely impossible for my computer,) and there are just too many good games I need to play or will go back to replay later.

I didn't even notice. I was watching the fight (you know, the important bit?)

That said: Guess what? Breasts bounce.

The good news is: if you have a PC made in the last few years you can probably emulate all of these games for free. There's not even a reason to feel bad, the actual companies that made them won't get squat from GS anyways.
