Well done MS and 343
Especially considering Assassin's Creed Syndicate is on 3 platforms and Halo 5 outsold it by 50%
Would be good to know the number of digital purchases, Ubisoft say their digital sales are over 26%.
I'm glad they're using a realistic system to measure the use of the service:

"While that doesn't mean we won't hear about console shipment statistics, it won't be something we should expect to see every quarter. Microsoft also indicates that the 39 million Xbox Li...
It's a great deal, especially when buying the yearly subscription for just $30 ($2.50 per month averaged over 12 months).
An astute user pointed to new Xbox owners getting 14 games for a year for the aforementioned $30.
Then there's the discount for purchasing new games.
Early access to Star Wars Battlefront and more as well.
"You honestly won't find a better controller anywhere else at this point or probably even across the generation. I've personally never held such a sophisticated and intense controller in my life, this is quite a treat."
That's some very high praise.
I expect MS will sell a ton of them once they restock.
Hopefully we'll see a sale at some point, so more ppl can enjoy this controller.
"With all of these factors weighed in I would have to say that the Xbox One Elite Controller is the better controller. Even with the higher price point and no battery pack I still think that overall it’s the better choice."
Without a doubt.
If this controller seems too expensive, then you are not the target consumer.
It sold out on day one
For serious gamers only.
I think Aaron hit the nail on the head when he talks about value.
Wether consumers do their research or just walk into a game store, they will find that all the big games being hyped are all on one console:
Halo 5
Star Wars
Fallout 4
TombRaider
Plus they can get the highest rated racers, Forza 6, Horizon 2
Great value in Remakes:
Rare Replay
Gears Remastered with backwards comp...
"At $150 the controller is overpriced but worth it if you really love gaming. It’s sexy, well built and offers the most flexibility we have ever seen (almost forgot to mention the changeable D pad). I think it will even add new life to your old fav games as you try them again with a whole new controller. Oh and you can even change the brightness of the white logo."
I guess we know why it selling out everywhere.
Great piece of kit for the serious gam...
Nope
It's all about choice
Want normal batteries, use them
Want rechargeable batteries, use them
want a play and charge kit, use them
Take your pick, and the batteries wear out, like all batteries do normal or rechargeable, you don't have to replace the entire controller. And at $150, MS made the right choice.
I think the quality is found in the scores we've seen.
I could make a list but I think we all know most of the big releases on X1 this year have consistently scored solidly in the 80's.
That's a testament to just how consistently great the gaming experience has been.
Interesting that resolution is touched on but not filter texturing.
I expect games to be more fun due to what Cloud Compute will add, as compared to...
"But I don't think we've ever had a holiday like what we have this year where not only is Halo 5 coming, but we have Gears of War, we have Rare Replay, we have Forza 6, we have Rise of the Tomb Raider; just kind of a non-stop lineup of AAA exclusives titles. In addition to an incredible lineup of big, third-party blockbusters like Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront."
Great selection of AAA games
To say nothi...
I think this is the first price drop I've seen for X1 original SKU.
Great that they included a bunch of Kinect games
"There was a lot of speculation regarding cloud based processing. A lot of people were not sure whether Xbox One can be made more powerful using the cloud. How does it feel to prove all of them wrong?"
"It feels good. The Crackdown 3 demo was an important step in terms of changing public perception about cloud computing and games. However, we are fully aware that players will only be completely convinced once we successfully release the game."

ROFL
Halo is a phenomenon
Most exclusive games will never see half the sales of Halo 3.
And Halo 4 at 9.5 m is outstanding by any standard.
And the price is fantastic gameplay
"It's clear that hitting 1080p while maintaining 60fps would not have been possible in Halo 5 but rather than simply opting to render at a low resolution across the board, 343 has implemented one of the most impressive dynamic resolution scaling systems we've seen to date,"
great to hear 343 has set the standard for how a dynamic resolution game should function.
"The rest of the arti...
I always laugh when i see the word "or"
As if $60 will break the bank for the average gamer.
As if a 3rd person adventure game has the same fanbase as a FPS. Or as if liking one genre precludes ppl from liking the other.
If money is an issue then get a console that plays all the big holiday releases and save a lot more then the price of a game.
Seriously impressive that a $150 controller sells out and the manufacturer has to scramble to restock.
Says a lot about how serious the Xbox gamer is about their hobby.
That's class
and credit where credit is due.
Without a doubt
there are almost 6 x as many scores in the 90's as below 80 (23 vs 5)
More 10's then 6's
A lot are saying that it is the best campaign in a Halo game
Congrats 343 and well done
Phil put it very well when he suggested that it recognizes the investment gamers made in their 360 library.
Great compliment to the previous fanbase.
Hat's off to their engineers for making it happen (next they will bring innovative Cloud Compute).
That's a good one. I would say more than one as Flex points out below:
Forza 6
TombRaider (timed)
Rare Reply
Gears Remake
and you still get all the 3rd party games; Star wars, Fallout
I also like the FREE backward Compatibility
And that Elite controller is so sweet
Proof of this is in looking at any positive X1 article, ppl claiming to have no interest in X1 pour in to try and downplay all...
