I can't think of any other remake that combined 2 generations of games and put them onto a third generation.
It took them 3 month to get it working after release but it is a testament to 343 that they went where no developer has ever gone before; some don't even release multiplayer at all.
Halo 5 MP will be a walk in the park compared to TMCC.
Looking forward to both the SP and MP.
Not surprised to read that XBL is the more reliable network, especially considering the investment in the Azure network.
Be good to see this comparison done on a quarterly basis
Game play is classic TombRaider, only much better looking of course.
Should really be a hit, especially with those that didn't want it to evolve into more of a shooter.
"Microsoft has a sure fire hit on its hands with Rise of the Tomb Raider. It will be exciting to see what people think when it is released on November 10."
Seems to be the general consensus.
Really glad to hear a true fan of the franchise give it such high accolades.
Looking forward to playing it in November.
WOW, production quality looks really good
Really creepy too
Well done
Not long now
One has to consider that they are getting the game plus certain limit production goodies.
That is worth around $100 right there.
Then there is the custom console with custom sound.
All this and the 1TB HDD
I'm ok with the price.
Then all the purchaser has to do is purchase F6 and some of the big 3rd party games like SW and BF and they will have the most awesome Holiday experience
Looking forward to the fasted UI and it's improved functionality.
Great that some of my most loved games from last gen will be added to my X1 library. I just don't know when I'll get to them with all the great AAA 3rd party and exclusive games coming out.
Agree
Funny part about the sub text is that ALL those games can be played on one console.
So I don't see the big battle, just get them all. Why deny yourself these great games:
Get Halo 5, it will be the best exclusive FPS this year with both Multiplayer and a long single player campaign.
You can also pick up a strictly multiplayer game, Star Wars, the gameplay looks great.
TombRaider is Action Adventure...
Nice to see some small incentives.
Especially since the pre-orders are doing so very well.
Great to see the brand continuing to expand with every iteration.
Well done
I'm really enjoying mine
So much content to chose from...
All the BIG 3rd party AAA games (Battlefield, Star Wars, eyc)
AND
Great AAA exclusives (Halo, Forza, TombRaider (timed), etc)
All on one console
Awesome
According to VG, X1 pre-orders are leading
That may not be going over well considering the paid exclusive advertising deal.

Yes, same for Battlefield
Agree
I don't think Xbox has ever lost a Black Friday since the 360 came out.
Edit...@Rimeskeen, from a consumers perspective, all the games you mentioned are playable this holiday on 1 console, to say nothing of the highest rated racing game, Forza 6, and TombRaider.
“Sounds like Microsoft is using the same strategy that Google did with Glass. I can’t imagine that the eventual consumer version would cost so much, so I assume they’re trying to make sure that this early version stays in the hands of serious developers,”
Exactly
Also mentions how kits are later loaned out. This is the very beginning, just like flatscreen TVs, first tens of thousands, now a few hundred.
That's great that MS took the time to ensure it could be enjoyed by the masses.
Sounds like VR and AR will be costly though (not referring to the hyperbole around development kits).
"and Forza6 is only a point higher than DC on Meta, nothing to make a fuss about. some websites actually rate DC higher."
We must be looking at a different site
http://www.metacritic.com/g...
that's 16 more points for F6 by my count.
Sounds a bit like that big PC space game EVE.
I was reading another article about how they are using the Cloud and how the galaxy is all on the servers.
If I'm reading correctly this allows for cross gameplay between Mac, PC and X1.
And the Cloud results in improved X1 performance:
http://gamingb...
"Richards said that, “We already use it. The cloud is essential for Elite Dangerous. The entire galaxy lives on our cloud servers, and it’s those servers that make the game’s unique features possible. It means we have a power struggle spanning countless star systems that every player can participate in. It means wars are won and lost based on player actions."
To think that this is only the beginning
Can't wait to see where MS takes us next with the...
Lot of great reasons
Backwards compatibility lets you keep you old library (depending if the BC list includes the games in your library, there will be HUNDREDS) and play great new AAA games
All the big 3rd party games like COD and Star Wars are also on X1 + AAA exclusives like Halo 5, Forza 6, TombRaider and many more.
Highest rated FPS...TitanFall (actually also on 360, great support for a 10 year old console; November 2015)
...
Good news
Be nice if there was some rumours about minimum specs for PC as well; just incase I have to amend my Christmas wish list.
