Doubt that includes marketing. That's actually a little cheaper than I would have guessed.
Yea I didn't even finish the witcher 3... I'm still completely blown away by how much everyone loved that game. Don't get me wrong, its an achievement in it's own right, but in the end it's just a poorly designed rpg stretched across countless hollow hours of 'content'. I hate that word. Prioritize good art--not a measurement of audiovisual timespace I can mainline.
I got in late and became completely obsessed. I dint start until shortly before subsistence came out in 2006. They have been my favorite games ever since.
I think these games are truly timeless. I played the twin snakes before the original and originally thought the first was the weakest in the series. Once I played the psx original, it became one of my favorite games ever.
Mgs2 remains my favorite game I've ever played and I played it 5 years late. If yo...
5 year cycle is rushed? Also, I think the series creator has more authority on what's 'true MGS' than you do.
I'm a big MGS fan and I'm super excited to see the series try something really different. That's what kojima and co do best, constantly reinventing the franchise. Which MGS game has been just like the last?
It's interactive media. Isn't that what people mean when they say 'game' now?
This (and everything else above) is a troll. But I laughed very, very hard.
Sigh... Like I said, aggressive willful ignorance. You're not interested in knowing more. You're interested in feeling right. You're points do not stand--it'd be like if I wrote a paragraph full of words that I was just using incorrectly and insisted I was right. You're just WRONG on the definitions. How are these facts even slightly irrelevant? I would never conclude that I'm a better person than you, but I do think you're aggressively oversimplifying this specifi...
Are you even remotely familiar with the general platforms of third and fourth wave feminism or did you just land on an opinion in complete ignorance and start waving it around the internet? In many circles of modern feminism (not an actual moniker, but I'll use it for this purpose), strippers, prostitutes, and other forms of female exhibitionists and sex-workers are glorified as a form of empowerment over sex-starved inadequate men who can't control their desires. It makes me sick t...
Thinly veiled and very poorly done satire. I don't even really want to attempt to have a conversation about this topic because I'm sure it will be met with abject ignorance, but here it goes: the truth is that the problem is not the portrayal of fantasy characters in and of itself—it's how the value system of characters' worth (as it relates to story) is analogous to very real social problems. Sure, there is pressure to be attractive for both men and women, but you're com...
Online anonymity doesn't explain sexism, it just makes it easy to get away with. To answer any of these questions, we really have to look at western culture--not the way people behave online. That's the symptom, not the problem.
First of all, quiet isn't Chico. Second of all, I find it a little audacious for Americans to feel like they have the social consciousness and authority to critique social narratives across cultures. Unless you are extremely steeped in Japanese culture, you have no authority to do so. Their context is completely different than Americas. That having been said, there are definitely certain things you can make judgements about independent of culture, but especially in context of cys and trans...
I hope not. Kojima makes amazing games. I know he's always had film aspirations, but I think he contributes something to game design that it would be a huge bummer to lose. Maybe if he just started switching off between films and games.
@flex I think you're right. As annoying and obnoxious as it is, I think it definitely is worse in other communities.
This is such amazing news. I do still hope they do something in the horror genre, but I'll play anything these two collaborate on. They are two of my favorite creatives.
Considering getting an Xbone. Not because of this, but recore and some of the other software (including sunset overdrive) is really tempting me.
Lol, I liked that part, but alas, many did not.
10/10 doesn't mean perfect in every way and never has. Chock it up as to a flaw in numeric scoring systems.
I don't know what your problem with journey is. I think it's got solid mechanics that are unique and it uses them to propel you through a very interesting and atmospheric platformer. I don't know why its not an 'actual game'.
It's both a genuinely fun platformer with unique mechanics and a beautifully atmospheric exploration-based game with excellent storytelling (driven by your own desire to interact and explore) and SERIOUSLY jaw-dropping visuals and music that's convincingly driven by player actions. I don't find it hard to explain what makes it great broadly, but the specifics are very difficult to put into words.
Yea I'm with this guy. I think 'gamer' also evokes too much of a hobbyist attitude. But playing games can be a hobby too--if you play online a lot or whatever. I love videogames, but I don't consider it a hobby. It's interactive art to me. I'm no more a gamer than I am a movier or a music listener or whatever.
I guess target and a few other retailers had to cancel some preorders a few months ago. It does seem unlikely that that would happen now since were 28 days from launch and they most certainly know how many they're going to have, but I think that's why he's concerned.
