Just heard a gamesradar interview that said they contacted konami and were told that the FOB system was not locked behind a PayWALL.
Inaccurate title is innacurate. The article still says, "We don't know", all it is is the characters name which was out there a long time ago.
That may be, but too many "me too"s in that market will lead to a burst. Sure, investment is small and return can be large, But saturation in that market is beginning to pose a risk.
Lol, 17/20 isn't a low score at all. People just wanted it to be higher. Metal Gear has always been divisive, I don't know why anyone's surprised.
I think people should calm down about the lack of cutscenes. It sounds like there will be just as many as past games (except maybe 4), but there will be ALOT more gameplay inbetween. Is that really a problem? I'm a huge MGS fan, and while I've always defended the amount of cutscenes in the games, you have to admit that sections of all of the games literally involve walking down a hallway just to view another cutscene. I know that there was always a narrative justification, but if th...
...or maybe they're just not that into them? Also, Scalebound was on the list. Quantum does look real good, and crackdown was certainly impressive, but I think that I'll have to see more before I have a full opinion. And really, Fable? Arm we all still pretending that fable was ever more than a b grade rpg at best?
Dude, I really hope this means that big boss can where a sheep cap to blend in with goats.
I don't know about the validity of this. Seems like game stop just fucked up their listing.
I think it's just a matter of resource allocation. I am a little bummed there's no swimming. I loved swimming around levels in mgs3, and I was hoping it would be one of the tools you could use to sneak about in V. But this game does look like it a packed with awesome shit, so not a big deal.
I'll say it again since none of you guys saw or responded to my second post: OXYGEN. If there is oxygen in the arm, it can float. It really is that simple. My point being: the excuse that the arm is metal and thus he would sink is an idiotic excuse. I'm not saying the game won't be amazing and that this ruins it by any means or that they should have made it happen for sure, but to suggest that him not swimming is based on some auteuristic consistency is ridiculous. Like I said,...
Put a large pocket of oxygen in there and voila, it floats. How do you think subs can float?
I'm still super stocked for the game, but there's no clear narrative reason he can't swim (at least not one that couldn't be bypassed).
No swimming is a bit of a bummer considering you could in every other MGS except 1, but I'm sure it will be properly designed to account for that, but I was hoping you could sneak into certain bases by swimming through the sewage intake or something. It'd be more direct but then you'd smell bad so enemies would investigate or something lol.
I understand the concern, but ground zeroes kicked ass on pc. I think that the pc version of tpp will probably be be the definitive version. Wish I had a powerhouse pc and a 4k monitor, but that's a little out of my budget right now.
@mosta My understanding is that he finished the game with them... Even if not, in a 5 year dev cycle, leaving in the last 5 months would mostly mean his missed debug--which is a bummer, but it's still his game through and through.
Relax, the trailer was NOT that bad. Sure, it didn't have all the intrigue and was fairly generic, but it had a few cool gameplay scenes. Remember MGS4 and it's prelaunch trailer that literally had the guy who did the voice of every movie trailer ever? MGS trailers aren't always super artistic, sometimes they just are what they are.
@Jumper I think they're pretty impressive. They'll surely be outclassed in terms of fidelity in the next year, but for an open world game running at 60 fps I think it's totally gorgeous.
Damn, wish I had a 4k monitor. If ground zeroes is anything to go off, this will be a REAL treat on PC. Unfortunately I don't have a powerhouse PC yet, so I will be playing on PS4. But once I get a rig together (maybe in a year or so), I'll give this a try on PC!
I understand people's impulse to boycott, but what I think is absolutely insane is the people that think buying the game 'used' counts as boycotting. Sure, Konami isn't getting your money, but you're contributing to the supply and demand system all the same—more pressure on used sales will inevitably mean more new purchases. Either buy the game or don't, and if you are going to buy it used, do it because it's cheaper, not because you're trying to 'show'...
I think the idea of supporting him is to prove that he has a loyal fanbase that will buy what he puts out. I really would rather Kojima not get relegated to kickstarter like many other legendary devs; I would like him to find a company that will fund his projects.
Lol, nice episode Jim. I agree, I'm super amped for MGS5, but microtransactions are ALWAYS bad. Even if they don't consciously impact the experience, usually they stand in place of another design element that would have been superior.
