The game is simply unreal. Honestly, I'd argue the game has to fight uphill against its legendary legacy if anything. The other Metal Gears have created such high expectations that this game has every opportunity to fall short and it doesn't. If I had to level one complaint, it would be that there is a little bit of filler in the game. In the first chapter, not all the missions are as good as the others (but honestly, it's just because some of them are fucking beyond incredible,...
This has nothing on the marriage proposal fight with Meryl and Johnny. NOTHING. ON. IT.
But it is, by far, the silliest scene in THIS Metal Gear.
Yea, this is probably my least favorite scene. Quiet is actually kind of a cool character, but the way she is dressed is just ridiculous. I know there's a plot explanation everyone, but it's pretty flimsy if we're all being honest. Scenes like this could've been sort of charming, but they end up just feeling creepy because of her being naked and whatnot.
*SPOILERS*
Her being photosynthetic is actually sort of a decent plot idea if her design was such that it...
1. Really?
2. Skip them
3. Umm.. I just disagree.
4. Fair enough
5. Yea, those are stupid
The only two things I've found that I'm not really into are the fact that you HAVE to bring a weapon on your hip in the mission sortie and the fact that you can't just have your chopper cart you around in the field. Other than that, the game is almost flawless to me. I've played it 30 hours since Monday night like a lunatic. Sill only at %...
It was fun, but I think the other set pieces throughout the rest of the game get even better because you have more control. Anybody gotten to any if the boss fights? Oh my God they are good.
Not to be totally dismissive, but I'm calling click bait. I got the game last night, and sure, everyone has an opinion, but to deny that this game is an absolute achievement is insane. I'm about 8 hours in, and the game could turn into a repetitive droll fest and I'd still say it deserves at least 8/10. What I've already played is so transcendent that it would warrant high marks even if the rest of the game wasn't as good.
Any game is like any other game except when it's not.
As much as none of us like to admit it, Konami could still turn things around. They have plenty of money and a bunch of IP's that many people still care about. What it would take for them to turn it around, however, is something that they're unprepared to give. They'd have to realize that--as with any creative business--your IP doesn't mean dick if you don't have top quality talent. That means they'd have to start treating their talent better and be prepared to pay wel...
Yea, it doesn't really matter, but it is hilarious that with all of 8 words on the system, they couldn't make absolute certain that they're all spelled correctly.
Yep, but the same is true of Kojima in a way: he's not writing everything in Metal Gear. He has a small team of writers, but he does come up with the story.
Psycho mantis is not a great boss fight. It's just the fourth wall thing that was interesting. The boss fight itself was very generic. Nothing like Raven or the End. I really wish people would relax about psycho mantis. Sure, the controller and memory card things were very memorable tricks, but the actual gameplay is one of the more mediocre boss fights in all of the MGS games. Honestly, if Kojima just kept trying to find new ways to break the fourth wall, his games would get really obnox...
Look, the Witcher is an achievement, no one can deny that, but the level design features some of the worst hand holding of any game I've EVER played--that's why I find it very overrated. I admit I'm biased when it comes to Metal Gear, but I thought bloodborne was incredible. The witcher, to me, is just an enormous, gorgeous world full of hollow, vapid content.
Lol, I don't have to admit anything. Actually, just to piss you off I'm going to say he's the greatest writer since Homer. Come at me.
As others have said, I think fallout is the most obvious. Right now my favorite is still bloodborne. I thought the witcher was insanely overrated (to the extent I haven't witnessed since GTA 4) and Bat man was good but not really transcendent.
To be honest, I am pretty biased toward Metal Gear. It will likely be my favorite.
"The only slight let down is that you either have to be loyal to the franchise, or know nothing about Metal Gear at all, to enjoy the game. Some bits are tricky, but overall, there is an ultimate goal which is reached. Without epic boss battles and ghosts from the past - or future - depending on which way the chaotic timeline unfolds, you are entering a new dawn of Metal Gear, and the new day is a great one."
Seriously, what is that paragraph? I've read it three...
This is so horribly written.
Sorry if that's mean; maybe I'm just jealous that they have it. Can't wait to lead around my "Diamond Boy's". Seriously, was this written on an iPhone?
Also, portions of this are almost directly plagiarized from other reviews. "...gone are the off-topic codec convos, climactic boss battles, and memorable character moments of Metal Gears past. Everyone seems to exist solely to walk on screen, deliver...
Dude, there are micros in single-player as well.
@ ikon He specifically referenced the fact that Konami said you didn't need to buy them. The whole episode is about why were shouldn't say 'its ok this time' just because it's Metal Gear. I'm sure the game will be incredible in spite of these micros, but make no mistake: it will be IN SPITE of them. They are, by definition, innately flawed.
HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I'VE GOT SOMETHING IN MY THROAT
AND I NEED TO BE ALONE
WHILE I SUFFER
This petition has nothing to do with cutscenes. The final mission (which finishes one very important storyline) was left half complete and not in the game. You'll understand once you get to the very end. Something is very noticeably missing.
