All of those are reasonable critiques, and I especially agree about the boss battles, but it doesn't destroy how insanely well executed the core mechanics are, for me at least.
...it was really good? Certainly some disappointing aspects, no doubt, but it was still a very fun, very impressive game.
Atheism is not a religion. Arguing a point is not "evangelizing". If you held tightly to a belief that the insides of watermelons are blue until you open them, and I disputed the logic by which you asserted that claim, who is the one placing faith in something? Sure, neither of us can actually PROVE anything, but placing the person who makes a claim based on no objective evidence and the person who questions that claim under the same banner is intellectually dishonest.
Lol. Ok dude. You sound like a teenage boy when you blame women and then think that the men who speak out are just trying to score lady friends, but whatever. I agree, it can be ridiculous sometimes, but you sound even more ridiculous.
I would like to see something from Sucker Punch.. I feel like they're sometimes sort of a one-hit-wonder. I loved the first Infamous, but not so much the next two. I loved the first Sly Cooper, but not so much the next two. Hopefully they have a new IP in the works.
Blaming 'women' broadly is pretty unfair. There are also a LOT of men that speak out about representation of women in video games and whatnot. Girls who routinely play games may have some critiques, but I feel like more often than not the sharpest criticism comes from people who don't even really play videogames. You and the other men are not unilaterally correct.
Pretty good article, but I think 'censorship' is the wrong word. 'Censorship' really only applies when an autonomous, authoritarian structure has qualified content as contraband and removed it from public availability. This does happen, as was mentioned with South Park and others, in the EU and Australia, but it really doesn't happen in the US.
What happens in the US more amounts to social censorship, which may be very annoying, but it also is not anythin...
Can't pick between Bloodborne and MGSV. Although I am a huge MGS fan... I can't tell if that gives MGSV the advantage or disadvantage. If that game had like 4 more boss battles, it would be MGSV hands down, but that was the big disappointment (for me) with MGSV. Everything else about that game is unbelievable.
Then Witcher 3 at a distant 3rd. Also finally got around to playing Super Meat Boy this year, and that's been a ton of fun.
So I see that Kojima still releases very divisive games. The argument over MGSV rages on, and I'm sure it will, just as MGS4, 3, and 2 before it. The only one it seems everyone agrees on is the first.
Dude, the enforcer is a fucking joke. Have you tried using the LMG? Its useless beyond any comprehension. Hopefully they fix this multiplayer, as it stands, it seems like they didn't play test it once.
It's a disaster. I'm seriously shocked how bad it is. I was ready for it to be different from MGO2, and when I saw the gameplay video at TGS I got kind of excited, but that is NOT the way this game plays out.
This seriously feels like a rookie dev making a multiplayer game in one year, not an experienced team over the course of three. Granted, the core mechanics are still solid (it does pull from the main game), but almost every other possible aspect is a complet...
It doesn't stop me from enjoying MGSV, but Metal Gear Online is SHOCKINGLY bad. I really hate to say it, because I was excited for it and I loved MGO2, but there are countless balancing issues, the maps are poorly designed for the mechanics, the net code is completely abysmal, the spawning system is broken, the wait times between matches are annoying considering you can't change your classes at all between matches, and etc. I could go on and on. This isn't just a case of it not ...
This. This so hard. I can't even believe how bad the gun balance is. It actually shocks me. This multiplayer is a disaster the likes of which I haven't seen in a LONG time. It really is shockingly bad.
Look, I knew it was going time be different from MGO2, but anyone who is defending this is out of their minds. The maps are way too big for the player count, but you end up getting cornered into one area because of spawn camping and the buddy spawn system. This SERIOUS...
So far, people who just liked Mgo2 seem to enjoy it just fine, but if you LOVED Mgo2, you're in for some SERIOUS disappointment. Honestly, I expected it to be faster paced, but the game is broken in countless ways. Its not even just bad compared to MGO2, I think its bad compared with battlefield or something. Its really not good. Hopefully they'll react to the uproar of fans and address the issues, but some of them are so deeply stitched into the design that I think this one is DOA
I agree. Thus far, I'm very disappointed in MGO3. They made a lot of transparently bad decisions that led the game to be a COD clone. Even the matches are so fucking short that there's no incentive to play methodically. Huge bummer. Back to Last of Us I guess.
I like MGSV, But I'm pretty with you on MGO3. It's not as good for many reasons. At least it's easier to get online, but once you get past that point, MGO3 is inferior in every possible way: balance, pacing, customization, clan support, uniqueness--and the list goes on and on. Even the SOP system doesn't work as well. The maps and spawning system are ducking horrible--they tried to pull off what MGO2 started, but it just feels like a poorly balanced COD clone minus the kill st...
So disappointed in this game. Mgo2 was so awesome. And now we have a call of duty clone minus the kill streaks. Terribly balanced.
Or you could do what you're compelled to do as a creative? Just a thought.
I dunno man, I'm a huge fan and I LOVE the game. The first chapter is awesome, but the second feels very incomplete. Honestly, had kojima found some ways to do rewrites, the game would be fine. He could have put the whole quarantine chapter right before the last two missions, moved some cut scenes around, maybe even found a way to finish quiets plot before the death of skull face and the game would be great. The narrative becomes a disaster after you kill skull face and there are huge thr...
Honestly, I kind of feel the same way, but alas, I suppose I just have to accept I'm in the minority. I actually played Witcher 3 for like 80 hours, and in many respects I think it's a great game, but the RPG mechanics and combat are ultimately pretty hollow, in my opinion. I feel the same way about it that I do amount most Western RPG's—they go for distance and tend to not really bother with having a tightly crafted experience.
To each their own though. It doe...
