@rob-GP It's actually running on Source 2, you didn't get to see much of the characters faces up close in the video, only short sections and that one at the end with the Gman.. it's obviously much more advanced than Source 1 judging by the detail that can be seen.
Looks like it's using Source 2 as well since it looks similar to that Portal robot repair demo thing or whatever, the visuals look almost identical, for anyone wondering why I say this it's because some people had said Valve may be using Unity. Roll on a bunch of Source 2 games (hopefully)
That's definitely Half Life.. From what little I saw the facial animation looked top notch, assuming it was in game which it looked like it was.
What complete nonsense, what game from 15 years ago looks like that? I've only seen videos of it and know you're talking crap already.. jeez
You mean like Worms? Like Worms 2 online multiplayer, which I was able to play on dial up in 1999 on my first PC..
Critics can sometimes bash on smaller details so much it makes you think something is terrible or average at best, when it's not.
I think people forget that there's a thing called personal taste.
Yes it probably will be quite expensive to be fair, at least at first. I've never even tried VR stuff so I'm not even sure I'd get motion sickness or anything with it either.
I see a lot of angry people must be in the comments downvoting everyone.. Lol
Tbh if this is anything like HL2 was this would make people WANT to buy into VR. But we'll see when they show us stuff.
I also spent a reasonably big sum of money on PC hardware back in 2004 to play HL2 and Doom 3. So did other people back then, just to play 1 or 2 games.
Yea I mean they wouldn't work on a new engine for nothing, I knew that all along something (eventually) would come of it.
My god, I can see this pushing me to buy a VR headset.. well, we'll see.
I can't wait to see the detail of the character models and the environments. I smell a Nvidia 3000 series GPU in my future.
Smells a bit like RDR2, recommended spec GPU set in the low/medium range making you think the game won't be demanding. Then it turns out it's intended for like 1080p at low/medium settings or whatever.
One of the rumours was saying the guy who seen the game running said it looked amazing.. I guess it would do if it was running on Source 2.
I still remember those leaked screens of the L4D2 plantation recreated in Source 2, still looks great even now.. Shame it's taking so long to get any games out using it!
This is a prime example of how toxic multiplayer games are today folks, i see this stuff all the time in games. And parents let literal kids into that environment with that kind of filthy language.. Not sure who's more to blame.
HL VR has been in the rumour mill for a while. The thing is if it's true, what's going to suck is that you'd need a good VR headset to play it and can't play without one. On the other hand this could be a must play, which would make people want to buy into VR.
Well at least maybe if this is really gonna release we might finally get a new L4D afterward.
It's basically in the realms of HL3 now, maybe they'll complete it and release it after HL VR or whatever it is they're working on.
The game itself though has a lot of potential to make it more replayable, more weapons and upgrades, more types of bosses and special infected, multiple escape points and routes along the campaigns, smarter AI or with AI learning? Heck there has to be a game which uses that at some point, they've already used some self learning ...
Pokémon is one of those games critics and almost everyone seems to love, still can't see why.. meh
I think you mean Optane.. It's faster than a regular SSD and meant to hold data even when powered off, AFAIK it was meant to be the "next best thing" as a replacement for RAM in PCs. Though still slower than regular RAM.
Is that the film Wacky Races was based on? I can see big similarities there to some of the characters by checking google images, don't think I've ever seen it though.
@rob-GP There's no way in hell that this is Source 1. You can see by the detail of the models and characters faces that it's not Source 1. It's similar visually to the robot repair demo, only this looks more polished and cinematic. Hell they've barely showed off some parts of the game and it already looks great, I bet the physics are really impressive.
