Being more complex does a console no favours, PS2 was supposed to be a lot more powerful than Dreamcast but look how close visually most of the games were there.

Played most of the incomplete free version years ago, they did a pretty gooe job on it. Might get it when it's super cheap again on Steam since it's complete now.

Well many games are aimed at teens/adults, hence the AGE ratings which most people seem to ignore. Funny how some see it as normal for little kids to be playing games they're too young for, but it's immature for an adult to be playing them?

Then you get the people who think it's fine for their little kids to learn foul language, see tons of blood and gore, and then suddenly it's wrong if nudity or sexualisation is involved. Seriously I think some parents are...

16 PEGI rated anime games = soft core pr0n with censorship

15 rated anime series for DVD/Bluray = soft core pr0n without censorship. Baffles me how many of them aren't rated 18.. they obviously not for kids with all the adult content in them.

It did. But the Index costs even more than I've paid for a high end GPU..

Can't say i liked the sight of it when i first saw it. Unless i console game then I'm using a KB & Mouse anyways.

Most anticipated for me would be Half Life and news/info on Back 4 Blood, plus maybe seeing what else Valve are working on. A new L4D would be a sweet cherry on top.

To be fair if you buy into VR on PC Valve will be releasing more VR games, so you'll get more than Half Life VR. That said though their headset is pricey, which is also likely to give the best experience also.

I just hope that if they do any multiplayer titles like L4D that they leave a regular non VR mode, if only to keep the online player base strong.

Source 2.. TWO!! Why do people keep saying it's Source engine? It's not, Source doesn't have those fine details on things either like in the Half Life Alyx trailer.

"looks dated" is a lazy thing say, we haven't even seen the full extent of the new physics engine or environment destruction etc and you say that.

Supposedly there are going to be more VR games coming from Valve which they're already working on. My only concern is that if they do "VR only" for all of their games, the multiplayer ones like L4D would have a small player base at least at first. And that's not good for a multiplayer focused game, and I think it's maybe too fast paced for VR, Valve already said that's a reason they didn't consider Portal VR because it would be disorientating.

The Master System game was really good, the one you throw potions to blow up blocks and stuff like that.

I think Vice City, San Andreas and the stories games had the best vehicle feel and physics etc for fun, like being able to stand on top of cars and even flip them over.

In Saints Row I found it really tough to flip cars, it was almost as if the road was magnetic pulling the car down.

Same as IMDB and sometimes Amazon.

One review of a film was along similar lines to this "watched the first 10-20 minutes and seemed ok, didn't have time to see the rest because was busy doing something" and rated it 4 stars.

Then you get troll groups rating things down.

Yep.. Can't trust reviews too much.

These requirements seem more realistic for minimum spec by listing a 1060 for minimum, whereas with RDR2 Rockstar says you need a 1060 for recommended, what a joke that is and seems misleading IMO.

At least you know where you are with this. Guessing they will list a 1080 (or 2000 series?) for recommended.

I just think the fast pacing might be too much for a VR type of game. Multiplayer can get quite frantic very quickly in L4D1/2. Also I just said I didn't think it would work well, not that it wouldn't work at all. I think it might be better if they had a separate mode with VR as well as a regular mode? Could be wrong but I feel it's just a type of game that needs far too much fast movement at times.

But whatever Valve do, I trust they know what they're doing...

So what's gonna happen with L4D? I don't see how it can work in VR, it's basically a multiplayer only game. If they intend to do more VR with their games, hopefully ones like L4D are left out, or have VR as a separate mode may be the better option?

I'm almost certain they will release games that don't require VR on Source 2 as well. I don't see how a new L4D would work well in VR because of its fast pacing and it is practically a multiplayer game.

I'd like to see a new Garry's Mod on Source 2 just to see the game modes people come up with too.

I'm assuming the physics are going to be on another level compared to the first Source engine, we hardly got a look at those in the trailer.

Source used Havok which was already impressive at the time IMO and is still quite decent today, if slightly buggy at times, Source 2 uses Rubikon. I'm guessing environment interactivity and destruction is going to go way up. The detail of stuff like faces of the character models is already way above what Source can do.

That's not what someone said who has played through the game, took him 15 hours

We haven't even seen the physics, or little of it in the trailer anyway. I bet that's going to be really impressive in Source 2. Overall graphics looked great, the facial animation seems to be at another level compared to Source 1, even though it's hard to focus much on it because there's only short clips of characters faces up close.
