i guess it morphed into Stranglehold.
now, we get a cool game, that, if it happens to suck, won't besmirch the name of Hard Boiled, like *OTHER movie based games do *cough*Spider-Man*cough*X-Men* cough*TheHulk*cough*Superman*co ugh*Batman*cough* - sorry, i had a lot of crap caught in my throat for a moment.
i'm all for fixing issues with the game, but personally, for *ME, this *PISSES ME THE F*CK OFF.
why? because i'm *NOT an online gamer. i don't *CARE about online. i'm a single player gamer, and i always will be. i don't care about bragging to my friends about how many medals or what not i racked up, or other things. i just want to play a quality game on my PS3, as, by the time Lair releases, it will have been 3 months since the last really good game hit the PS3 exclusively (Nin...
i'm also still pumped about this game. even moreso.
the RE series has been the same for a long time. in 4, they went to a sort of Spanish/European country because it was something new, and different for the series.
i think here, in 5, the developers were deciding where they wanted to take the series next. i mean, have you seen any *OTHER games set in a primarily African (presuming it *IS Africa) setting? i don't think so.
i'm sure they ran down a w...
lol. me and my friends were joking about Transformers after we saw it too.
even when it's *ROBOTS, the black one dies. lol.
To: Xeno and Bubbles; this is the sort of thing i wish there was more of; black males having a civilized conversation, even if we don't always agree (and in truth, i agree with you about understanding this woman's perspective, but i think that before she got up in arms and spoke out about it so vehemently, she should have done more research into...
i forgot about Monster Hunter 2, and i really like Killzone Liberation. i was just playing it last week. fun game.
Sorry!
just that first sentence was actually directed at you, everything after was me getting carried away and going on a rant. lol.
after about the fourth paragraph, i *FORGOT i was even talking to anybody. lol.
is that *I'M a black guy, and my fiancee is White, but *SHE was the one to scream out that the game was "racist" when i showed her the trailer.
i was too busy being terrified of the zombies.
i was like, "Kill those bastards, Chris! Use your white power to take those darkies out!" actually, now that i think about it, that was kind of racist.
i kid. i kid.
but in all seriousness, i didn't think of race at all when i...
why then, do so many people say the PSP is a "failure," when it's sold 25 million units.
the DS and PSP are both incredible handheld successes.
the DS rides off of the success of the Game Boy line (going strong since the late 80s), and the PSP is finally a handheld for Playstation gamers.
there are more than just ports on the PSP.
Exit, Lumines, Loco Roco, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Daxter, MGS: Portable Ops, are all excel...
good business, to *ME, would be *NOT to screw *ANY of your userbase in the first place.
we can argue about the Blu Ray/HD DVD/DVD issue all day, but Microsoft *SHOULD have included a hard drive in *EVERY 360 from day one.
now, Core users either have to buy the $100 20gig HDD, or the $180 120gig HDD.
not only was Sony's decision to include Blu Ray in the PS3 a good move, but including an HDD in every SKU standard was a good move too.
...
i have a question:
*WHEN was Gears of War supposed to be released again? at 360 *LAUNCH?
when did it come out? right. a *YEAR later.
when was Too Human supposed to come out again?
when was Alan Wake supposed to come out again?
how many times has Mass Effect been delayed again?
point is: games get delayed. for *WHATEVER reason.
at least when a PS3 game that's been delayed releases, it perfo...
it changed exclusivity, is because they took the game to Microsoft, and Microsoft said, "no thanks."
then Sony saw it and were like, "we see the potential here," and funded the project for them.
too many people get sucked up into hype.
i've learned, after playing games since i was 6, that hype is just that. hype, and nothing will ever live up to it.
MGS2 was a great game, but it didn't live up to the hype (and the story was crazy, but the actual *GAMEPLAY, was loads better than MGS)
being 28 years old, i just don't buy anything that people say. whether it's corporate PR spin, or media spin (just about everything has spin nowadays).
...
if you misunderstood the story.
Hideo Kojima actually *DID like the game. he liked it a lot, and told the developers that he was impressed with what they were doing.
that's like having your favorite athlete play you one on one, and then afterwards, tell you you have skills.
that's how i feel about it.
all three Prince games were great (even part two, which i seem to be in the minority for liking it), and had expert level design.
when i first saw Assassin's Creed (back when it was Project Assassins), and found out it was from Ubisoft Montreal, i immediately thought of Prince of Persia.
then, when i learned it would be open-ended, i thought of a sandbox Prince of Persia, which i thought sounded *AWESOME.
...
people are too damn cynical nowadays.
one hiccup during a press conference, and people want to scream to the rafters.
just because that awesome Honda Robot ruined his grill on the stairs during his live demonstration doesn't make it any less of a marvel of technology (just a clumsy marvel).
Assassin's Creed holds a lot of promise, and is still looking like it offers some sweet open-ended gameplay, which we still haven't gotten a *TRUE next gen sand...
damn i love that Prairie Dog.
cracks me up every time.
*edit: oh yeah, and on topic, i'll just wait until i can judge the game for myself.
take for example, the game Second Sight, from Codemasters.
it got pretty mediocre reviews (though an average score of 75 from Metacritic, which isn't too shabby), and the majority of the complaints were that the controls weren't quite hot, and not as smooth as Psi-Ops, which had a similar Psionic powe...
to me, the "going forward" comment implies that any Metal Gear Solid titles *AFTER MGS4 will go multi-platform.
afterall, Kojima will be gone from the series, working on new things, and he's been the biggest proponent in keeping MGS4 exclusive to the PS3.
i think that Metal Gear Online, however, will come to the 360 as well as PS3, but MGS4 will stay on the PS3.
i think Sony will tout this as "the only place to get Hideo Kojima's *FI...
this sounds like the work of the HD DVD camp!
their 300,000 HD DVD players can't compete with the 4.5 million PS3's in people's homes! lol
i kid, i kid.
anyway, this sounds like a greedy company trying to make some quick cash, now that Sony's public perception is getting back up there.
we've known about the Cell Processor for a few years now (i remember an article in PSM Magazine after the PS2 launched, where Ken Kutaragi was talkin...
Motorstorm was 15 gigs, i believe.
*edit to 360Crusader; Mass Effect indeed looks pretty wicked, but according to the devs, they're having a hard time fitting it *ONTO that 1 DVD, and are pushing the limits of the disc already.
could be why we aren't seeing the game until November, instead of next month, like it was originally slated.
is it, like, a game where you have to stick things to a wall using tacks? or "takks," as the developers call them? sounds like a Wii game...
i'm joking, but i agree, the PS3 has a great lineup for 2008. and you forgot to mention Heavy Rain, LA Noire and Infamous. new IPs that are showing some potential.
what has me really pumped, is that Sony is going to announce *MORE new IPs at the Tokyo Game Show this October (since three of it's big guns will have h...
