i think some gamers have high expectations of Haze, and are comparing it to Halo because:
1. They both have 4 letters in the title.
2. They both start with the letter "H"
3. The second letter in each title is also an "a"
4. It's an FPS. Meaning you shoot people. And clearly, if you shoot something in the first person perspective, comparisons to Halo are unavoidable *rolls eyes.*
gamers simply love t...
and yet still responding to some of the negative posts here:
at the very least, i think Haze will entertain.
why? because it was made by a developer with a *KNOWN PEDIGREE for making entertaining FPS games.
some of the team made a little game called, i dunno, Goldeneye? maybe you've heard of it? (the N64 one, not the abomination released a few years ago).
they also made the very fun Timesplitters series, and i believe Second Sight, w...
i think what some of you are forgetting is that people have different tastes.
for example, i'm dying to get my hands on Folklore and Ratchet and Clank, but Hot Shots Golf 5 is a pass for me (despite it's critically acclaimed status).
also, Haze and Unreal have me intrigued, but i'm not at all interested in Call of Duty 4.
different strokes for different folks. the problem is when you have a huge range of tastes in games (my roommate has to pick up ...
i'm definitely picking up Folklore on the 9th, and Ratchet on the 23rd (i'll find a way), but i want Eye of Judgement too (can't pass up a cool, innovative idea, plus the value in the game shipping with the Eye Toy is great).
i'm also going to pick up Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, and Haze in November, and maybe Unreal Tournament 3.
all i can say is thank god for my Gamefly account, and my 5% discount, because i wouldn't be able to get these games otherwise!
with Ratchet and Clank Future, PS3 owners get pretty graphics *AND great gameplay.
who knew?
but the thing is, that crucial one year start has amounted to, *WHAT, exactly?
last i checked, the Wii has either passed the 360 in terms of sales, or is very, *VERY close, in large part due to the success of the console *WORLDWIDE (that'd be Japan, US, and UK/PAL regions).
so Microsoft got their year start, but it didn't honestly help.
looking at the software lineup for the 360 this year, they would have sold quite a few million units, even if it ...
"Disagree.
What "woos" people is mindshare. Sony's had a lot of this in the past in terms of the playstation brand. The words playstation and nintendo are synonymous with game consoles to consumers in general. So sony and nintendo are equal in this sense as game machine options. In this way they're a lot like the situation present with mp3 players where most people call every player an ipod. Xbox, for the time being, doesn't have this with the general population....
for the love of god, we *KNOW the true reason for why Sony didn't include rumble (the Immersion litigation), but do you think it would have been good business for them to bring out their dirty laundry *EVERY TIME they were asked about it?
so they came up with some c*ck and bull about rumble being a "last gen" feature, and "not needed."
which, while false in a way, sounds much better than, "oh, well, we used the technology without permissi...
is it because you don't understand Japanese?
i'm sure the English voice overs probably sound horrid to the non-English speaking Japanese.
while i like the English voice acting better, i don't think it's fair to call another language "horrid," unless maybe you are a speaker of that languange, and understand the nuances and inflection of said language (if you *DO speak Japanese, then disregard everything i've said).
anyway, yeah, it's basic...
that doesn't mean the developers won't release a demo of some sort, just not the TGS one.
he did say the team would be interested in doing a Metal Gear Solid Demo, and so far, history has shown that *EVERY console Metal Gear Solid title has had a demo released, at least, 3 months or so before release.
MGS4 isn't 3 months until release, more like 6 months or more.
i expect we'll hear about a MGS4 demo sometime next year, like February or March.
1.)Sony's biggest competition in gaming is Microsoft.
yes, Nintendo is selling like mad, but in the end, graphics always woo people over gameplay (what makes you stop and stare at a game on display while in the store, than it's eye-grabbing graphics?). the X Box 360 is the Playstation 3's closest competitor for graphics, as well as gameplay (the processors in both machines *FAR outpace anything the Wii is able to do).
2.) The Playstation 3 is *SIGNIFICANTLY outse...
that sucks!
Bioshock is a great game, and i'd hate to have it spoiled for me (i don't own a 360, but i've been playing Bioshock on my roommate's 360, and it's awesome).
there are people that i should probably add to my ignore list that i haven't yet, but i really try and refrain.
i just don't want to ignore them because i don't agree with what they say, but i'll ignore them if they're constantly spewing ridiculous hyperbole and misinformation. i've...
you're too nice, Deep (English Gentleman?), i guess i'm just a crass American, but i think he's acting like a retarded douche, personally.
i mean, arguing the semantics of "re-review?" give me a frigging break!
the truth is, it *DOES seem like this is Gamespy covering their @sses, since *MOST of the feedback and reviews from gamers and reviewers have been quite positive for Heavenly Sword.
it seems to me that lately, reviewers have been r...
i bet you were the kid in school that got everyone extra homework over the weekends when the teacher was simply being nice and letting everyone slide.
Lil' Peg: "ooh, ooh, teacher! you didn't give us any homework today!"
Teacher: "*sigh*, you're right. okay kids, read chapter 4 in it's entirety, and write up a report on it."
Peg's classmates: "*GROAN* awe man..."
*they glare at Peg*

the Prince of Persia games were *SOOOO horrible...
*rolls eyes*
Ubisoft Montreal has a solid track record with the PoP trilogy, and this game is simply open-world Prince of Persia, so i have more than a bit of hope that this game will, at the least, entertain.
man, some of you guys are so damn cynical...
Level 5 said that White Knight Story was originally supposed to be a Playstation 3 *LAUNCH TITLE, but in order to make the date, they'd have had to cut the game in half, and they didn't want to do that, so they delayed it until it was finished.
i think that's the main reason why it looked so complete when they showed it off at last years TGS, it was about 50% or more done (which is quite a bit in game development time, but not close to final product).
so if it co...
much appreciated! i'll return the favor!
that is to say, i beat it after about 6 or 7 hours (maybe more), over the course of 3 days (i played for about 2 or more hours a day), *THEN, i've been going back, and getting all 3 glyphs for each sub-chapter. i think i'm currently at 114/129, but it's taken, at the least, an additional 4 hours of gameplay.
i've never really completed a game 100% before (not counting Castlevania: Symphony of the night, at 200%), so i'm feeling pretty good about myself that i'm so close to doin...
that they show the *BEST parts of the Ninja Gaiden 2 demo, and choose the lame, brown, @sstacular level, from the Ninja Gaiden Sigma *DEMO!
at least go to a level that isn't a closed off, claustrophobic room!
personally, i think both games look on par with each other, considering that one is a *FIRST GENERATION Playstation 3 game, and the other is a what, 3rd generation 360 game?
i think NG2 looks great, but the quality of the video (i downloaded a...
Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, and Eye of Judgment are my picks for October. Folklore i'll most certainly be gameflying, and i may have to buy Eye of Judgment in the store, simply because i really want that Eye Toy, and it's a great deal (and the game looks fun also; probably something me and my fiance can play together, since we'd play Magic every once in a while).
