and usually, when it comes to game installs, i simply delete the installs of games that i don't play anymore.

for example, the DMC4 install - deleted when i was done
the GT5 Prologue install - deleted when i was done
Heavenly Sword - deleted when i was done
Oblivion - deleted when i was done

i think the only installs i have on my PS3 right now is the GTAIV one. it's mostly demos, videos, and music on my PS3.

i have plenty of space left,...

and as of Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3 last December, the Unreal Engine 3 has finally been optimized for the PS3, i wouldn't doubt that this title is coming to the PS3 this year.

also, Microsoft DOES NOT own the IP to Bioshock.

2K Games does, and they are free to do what they will with THEIR PROPERTY.

that fact that, a few months ago, they were hiring for PS3 coders, programers, etc, lends a lot more to this story than any other (i mean, you didn't see...

were the two best games i played last year (though Ratchet and Clank Future is battling for 2nd or third place also), and now i'll get to enjoy both on my Playstation 3.

i thought Bioshock was great, and i haven't beat it yet. i borrowed my roommate's copy until he traded it in, and i was thinking of picking it up for my 360, but i prefer the PS3 controller of the 360 controller, so i'll just pick up the PS3 version if it hits.

of course, there are quite a few really...

before the Playstation PR team learned some humility.

i think Microsoft may have to take that class, if their current antics are any indication.

in either case, only fanboys ever thought the PS3 would be down for the count.

Nintendo, and even MS, know that the Playstation brand, after 11+ years DOMINATING the market, would not go out to pasture quietly.

there really is a reason why we consider Sony the market leader.

considering...

when you have 21 first party in house development studios, and 4 second party development studios, ALL working on exclusive titles for your console.

and most of the studios are working on more than ONE title (ie, Insomniac is not only working on Resistance 2 for this fall, but the next Ratchet title, i'm assuming will release in 2009; Naughty Dog is working on Uncharted 2, and i assume a PS3 Jak and Daxter, not to mention a PSN title; Naughty Dog has been saying in interviews for...

if ever, use the stylus for anything, i wished they'd send some of that Castlevania love over to the PSP.

personally, i think they should keep the series 2D, and release new titles via the PSN, XBLA, and Virtual Console, in addition to the handheld releases.

if they released the entire "Metroidvania" series of Castlevania titles, from SOTN (which i already own; disc and PSN download) through to Portrait of Ruin, i'd buy all of them.

today.

here's a non-video game example:

Jim Lee (for those that don't know, he's a kick@ss comic book artist, who has worked in that industry for over 20 years, drawing everything from X-Men, to Batman, to Superman), created Wildstorm back when he founded Image comics in 1992 with Todd McFarlane, Eric Larsen, Rob Leifield, and Jim Valentino.

the pressure of running a company made it so that he had less time to draw comics. which was his passion.

a few years bac...

even to the point of denying what their OWN experiences with the game tell them.

there are people that actually ENJOYED Lair, but due to the harsh reviews, they suddenly hate it now.

as for Haze? it was made by Free Radical. Free Radical makes good games. end of story.

just because they don't have "Konami," "Square-Enix," "Bioware," "Bungie", or "Polyphony Digital," type hype to their name, doesn't mean t...

being very conservative with those numbers.

it's a smart business tactic on the PR front:

they set a reasonable, modest goal, so that it looks SOOOO much better when they exceed that goal by a significant margin.

here's an example of what Sony could say next March 2009 (when their fiscal year ends):

with a goal set to sell 15 million, and they sell 16 million - "The Playstation 3 has sold 1 million units beyond our expected projections....

i imagine you must all LOVE Killswitch:
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

now, don't get me wrong, i'm not posting this vid to take a stab at Gears, but i keep on hearing this "Gameplay over graphics" argument when it's convenient for both parties, and, having played Killswitch back when it first came out, i fail to see the difference between Killswitch and Gears outside of it's visuals.

Fable 2, Too Humam and Alan Wake are the only 360 games that interest me this year.

i may check out Ninja Gaiden 2, but as a rental, as the first one pissed me the f*ck off (i play games to have FUN, not give myself a stroke).

i'm not a Gears of War fan, so Gears 2 doesn't excite me like it does the true fans of the series (i'll still keep my eyes on it, of course, i'm just not sure i'll pick it up day one, if at all).

Banjo...i never played the N64 titl...

is that Killzone 2 look significantly better than Gears of War 2.

when i first saw Gears of War, i was like, "WOW. that looks amazing! i'm jealous that i don't own a 360 yet."

however, 2 years, and, i don't know, quite a few games later (COD4, Burnout Paradise, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Ratchet and Clank Future, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and, what, eleventy BILLION games using Unreal Engine 3), and that wow effect isn't really in place anymor...

but it's release isn't making, or breaking, my enjoyment of the PS3 so far.

there are so many cool games hitting (both exclusive and multi-platform) this year, that it doesn't upset me nearly as much as some other folks, when Home gets delayed.

glad to hear there's a bit more of a solid date for the open beta.

i'll keep my ears open, but there's a lot of stuff to keep me busy in the meantime.

too much driving? i guess it's too hard to hail a taxi and go from point A to point B?

i only drive in GTAIV for two reasons:

1. when i can't take a taxi (ie, when a mission requires you to drive a certain vehicle from point A to point B)

and

2. when i just want to go for a cruise around the city and listen to the radio.

any other time i need to get somewhere in the game, i take a taxi.

simple as that.

who thinks that Kojima gives the best analogies in the world?

i mean, they're completely incomprehensible, and yet...they make PERFECT sense!

anyway, as an American, i don't take offense to what he says about American modesty.

turn on the TV at ANY POINT during your day, and you'll see that "American Modesty," at work.

we are far from a modest people.

that doesn't mean that individual Americans aren't modest, but the f...

but i remember Naughty Dog saying that the game streamed from the Blu Ray disc constantly.

it's possible it could cache, but it certainly didn't install to the hard drive (there's no game data in my "Game Data" folder).

my point still stands, caching or not, Uncharted, ESPECIALLY for a year one title, has achieved reached some impressive technical achievements that have gone, for most of the media, unnoticed and appreciated.

Bioshock (which i l...
