i'm curious, because a few people have commented on unskipable adverts, but in the story, it said that after about 10-15 seconds, the ads are skippable.
in either case, i didn't get to download QORE until late, so i haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet.
from this well done write up, it sounds interesting, and has a slick interface.
i like the option of being able to press the Square button on an advert that you like to be taken to the sponsor page for...
i never said you COULDN'T do any of that stuff on the 360, only that on the PS3, you get to do all of that for free ON TOP of QORE.
that QORE, as in, you know, the MAGAZINE, is in no way, shape or form the equivalent of Xbox LIVE.
so my point still stands: QORE is no LIVE, and it's not trying to be LIVE. the misunderstandings going on about something as simple as an online magazine is mind-boggling.
reading comprehension for the lose, bud.
downloaded a bunch of trailers
downloaded the Battlefield demo (which i LOVED)
downloaded some wallpapers and themes
ALL FOR FREE
THEN
i payed $3 for the QORE online mag, i have to say that it's absolutely NOTHING like Xbox LIVE Gold at all.
i mean, seriously, what the f*ck is wrong with the internet whenever Sony does ANYTHING??
IT'S A GODDAMNED MAGAZINE!!!
jesus christ! i can't take this fricking STUPI...
Rockstar - 1 ($50 million)
Microsoft - 0
facetious.
EXACTLY. people just like to b*tch about nothing these days, really.
i even have my fiance's 30gig External hooked up to my PS3, so, worse comes to worse, all the videos and music i have stored on my HDD can be moved there.
since Metal Gears install is nowhere near as large as the 30gigs i have left on the PS3's HDD, i'm good no matter how you slice it (and i can always delete the Oblivion, Virtua Fighter 5, and GTAIV installs that are taking up over 10gigs of space....
today, when the PSN updates for the week.
i think i have $3 in CHANGE in my pocket right now.
it's just a magazine, and it's OPTIONAL.
you still get to play online for FREE.
you still get videos, trailers, demos, wallpapers, etc, for FREE.
i repeat, QORE is a MAGAZINE, like any you'd get on the news stand, and yet different, because you don't have to actually go to said news stand, and it's INTERACTIVE, meaning it's still cooler than most magazines.
i just don't see wha...
gigs on my HDD, and nothing but time next weekend (i work Monday through Friday),
so install times and cutscene length are not a factor for me. even better, my fiance is looking forward to MGS4 just as much as i am, so i don't even have to worry about dominating the TV.
now that i've gotten THAT out of the way, i have a question for a few of you:
imagine if there was an internet back in 1980 when The Empire Strikes Back was released.
imagine if the many reviewers out there on the net right now were covering the story.
i guarantee that MONTHS before release, the reveal that Vader is Luke's father would have been known by MILLIONS.
in the spoiler-laden internet infrastructure we live in today, it doesn't surp...
buttons just aren't very good can be number 1.
please keep in mind that the bellow is all personal preference
the 360 controller, the good:
analog sticks are comfortable, as is the overall feel of the controller (weight comfort).
the triggers are great, especially for shooters.
the 360 controller, the bad:
the left and right bumpers are too thin, and don't have enough give (ie, you can't really lightly press down on...
that would be GLAD to get some DLC for Ratchet and Clank Future, right?
i mean, i've sunk over 20 hours into Tools of Destruction, and that's due to replaying planets, maxing out my weapons. new weapons, planets, and missions are GREATLY welcome to me, and any news about it is also welcome.
this is the first time i've heard the title (Quest for Booty), but it's not the first time i've heard about a R&C release on the PSN.
is that there better be plenty of booty in this title...
anyway, ANY new Ratchet and Clank content on my PS3 is welcome. whether episodic content, or add-ons, or all new games.
i think this Quest for Booty title will be to pop the cherry of Insomniac's newly opened North Carolina studio.
the game uses an existing engine, and they can cut their teeth on PS3 development. besides, we already know how helpful Insomniac is when it comes to game development, s...
we saw or heard of ANYTHING concerning those games was 2 years ago, i'm not surprised they've been pulled.
The Getaway was the one that i was teh least interested in.
8 Days, however, i was really intrigued about, so i'm bummed that it's been canceled.
HOWEVER, MGS4, White Knight Story, Motorstorm 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet this year will be sooth my "hurt".
the moment i read about this on another site, i knew here on N4G t...
MGS4 on the X Box 360, thanks to Kojima's team coming up with compression techniques to cram 50gb of data onto 7.5gigs of space. BEHOLD!

(sorry guys, couldn't resist)
i mean, you go into a store, see a magazine on the shelf that interests you, and you plop down the $5-$9 dollars for the magazine (and a lot of them don't even COME WITH game demos).
but they take the magazine from print to the net (and your TV screen), and suddenly it's "I don't want to pay $3 for an interactive magazine with HD video and demos!"
it's already been stated by the Sony rep in the comments section of Playstation Blog that all the current servi...
but i'm simply stating my opinion. i happen to be a bit more verbose than most, however. no one HAS to read what i have to say, and i indeed, plan on starting a gaming blog, but it's a ways off, and until then, i don't feel the need to not comment on gaming news while i wait to start my site.
my intention is always to be as thorough and informative as i can be, so there is absolutely NO confusion on where i stand, or what i mean (i see it a lot, where comments are misunderstood, ...
"Exclusive News - In today’s gaming news climate (for lack of a better term), it doesn’t matter where news comes from, it’s somewhere on the internet within 1.2 nanoseconds. So for folks that are wanting news hand delivered to their PS3 in HD, this may be a draw, but for folks wanting the absolute latest PS3 gaming news, it’ll make it onto the internet even if Qore is cited as the source."
i think what's important to note is that not EVERYBODY surfs the net on a daily b...
i have a 60gig, bought about 4 months after the PS3's release, so i've been enjoying the PS2 games i've yet to beat in upscaled HD since i got my HDTV in June of last year.
i always expected Sony would enable PS2 emulation via firmware, as i expected them to offer PS2 games via the PSN at some point in the future.
why people got so up in arms about the removal of BC to make the console cheaper is beyond me.
i mean, if you want to play PS2 games so bad, w...
the 360 fans that i'm sure will come this thread.
i keep hearing about how "robust" Xbox LIVE is, and i just want to know WHAT these "robust features" are?
and i don't want to hear about console features (like custom soundtracks; that has nothing to do with LIVE), i want to hear, specifically, about LIVE features.
the irony, is that i OWN an Xbox 360, and i work at Vivendi Games. i've had to do plenty of online game-testing for LIVE t...
