the Spider-Man games from Activision suck @ss. the environments are bland and non-interactive, and the only thing going for it is the swing engine. the combat is boring, and you can't do ANYTHING in the world, but swing, and do boring, repetitive missions.

the best Podcast Beyond i've listened to, and i've listened to a lot.
they whine and nitpick the PS3 a lot, but this one was great.
David Hayter tells some great stories, and when i get home, i'll most certainly use the "Snake Answering Machine" message for my cell. that was priceless.

and decided to check it, just for the hell of it. to my delight, it worked, i quickly created a character, ran around the solo training for a bit to get a feel for the controls, then played two quick team deathmatch rounds. it was only about 10 minutes with the game, but i enjoyed it.
i can't wait to get home and really sit down with it and give it some time.

are you people seriously criticizing a few 8 minute VIDEOS of a game not a single one of you have touched?
i think some of you folks rely on videos a bit too much.
nothing beats having actual hands on time with the game, and for longer than a few minutes.
i know a lot of the 360 fanboys will grab a PS3 controller, play Heavenly Sword or Uncharted for three minutes, then throw the controller down in disgust and say "this game sucks!"

game looks great on both, and it's going to be great on both.
i do think the PS3 deserves some credit for the faster load times, less pop in, and anti-aliasing, because those things just aren't subjective like lighting/vibrancy, etc, and are technical issues that the Playstation 3 was able to deal with thanks to the HDD install.
i can't wait for tomorrow, that's all. between the MGO beta and GTAIV, i think the next few weeks are going to be pretty damn good for me.
