Another possible explanation could be some quirk with your setup? Lighting conditions? Incorrect calibration?

Because I've been following PSVR for a while, checking out previews from those who have tried it and I haven't seen a general consensus that PS Move is unusable and in fact the contrary seems to be the case from most previews.

Surely they can only be better on PS4 with a camera that is better on hardware that is more powerful?

I played Heavy Rain, Sports Champion and RE5 with Move on PS3 and found them to be very accurate and responsive. With an improved camera (2 lenses) meaning depth and speed will be detected more accurately I don't understand how the experience can be worse *based on hardware*.

What's your opinion on why lots of people experienced good quality and accu...

Tbh I think most normal gamers hopes PSVR, Rift and Vive all do well. It would be bad for the new medium if they start failing commercially. Some folk just one one to do better than the others due to brand loyalty.

It was kind of shrewed of Sony to release the price of the headset alone. They should have released both bundles initially to be upfront about it but it puts the idea of it being better value into the minds of the public which is important, if a little shady. Sony ...

@miyamoto
"Don't let the publication delays alter that fact"

By that logic Duke Nukem forever is the best looking PS1 game by miles. I kid. But the point still stands that the release of software dictates it's generation, not it's development start date or original release date. It's not like ND have been sitting on their hands for a year. It's clearly a 2nd generation game, one of the first 2nd generation games. Surely the graphics show ...

I think you have to understand that not everyone can afford a high end PC + high end VR and not everyone is technically interested in building their own PC or learning about VR specs. The majority of people want what is hot and what works.

You're in a minority of a minority as someone who is interested and can afford everything which will obviously affect your viewpoint.

In your situation, Vive obviously makes sense. In most people's situation, Vive ...

I can't see people buying everything all at once but it definitely gives people more reason to buy a PS4 over alternatives.

If I had none of the consoles or no gaming PC the existence of PSVR would be a pull to get a PS4 even if I was only slightly interested in VR. There may be a killer app for that emerges from the new experience.

Surely ji3200 comment amounts to spam at this point. It's not interesting seeing it in every PSVR article.

I mean I agree with the points, just don't understand the need to copy/paste it in every article. It's like they're trying to convince others or themselves to buy. Trying too hard mate. It's a good enough device as is. I wonder if they're a Sony salesperson.

Hmm, possibly...

Neutral awards + PC only awards + PS only awards + Xbox only awards

vs.

Neutral awards + PS only awards

Probably not enough to make a massive difference in terms of awards though since the vast majority of awards are neutral. Don't know why this was brought up. I'd rather celebrate a great game rather than make excuses for why it 'beat' another game. Perhaps time I should pick up the Witcher 3...

This is the type of score MGS5 should have got! The mind boggles at how reviewers were able to give it an 8 or over :S

If it was the same reviewer, his consistency is awful!

I think you're right, the base package should include the camera and move controllers, i.e. everything needed. Could cause confusion for parents on Christmas for example. There obviously should also be the option to just buy the headset.

Everyone should do more than general perusal at Game for a £350 piece of electronics though... You should look at the requirements before buying something that expensive so I don't have loads of sympathy for someone who buys it w...

This is about the ballpark I expected. I was hoping for £350 including camera and move controllers which would have been brilliant. As it stands, it's still pretty good. Far from way too expensive based on specs and previews. Of course you're not getting the absolute best quality but the price reflects that. It is a good middle ground for those not wanting to invest too much in the medium but who also want a new experience. Game support is obviously an important factor which is a...

It's no surprise MS didn't do this when the 360 was the more popular console (in the West). Hopefully Sony don't do a 180 and lock it down for fear of losing their sales momentum!

I think a lot of people buy what their friends play on rather than what's right for them. Playing with your friends is a very powerful draw so it'll be great when you can do this via the console you want to buy.

Why would anyone be mad at Sony for "being difficult to implement this for"?

It's really not a massive problem making games cross play. PC/PS has had many examples, more than MS if I'm not mistaken showing that cross platform network play is achievable and has worked on Sony platforms before. Portal 2 did this years and years ago. Many other examples too. Why would these developers even consider cross play with Sony if it is so difficult to implement?

I'm worried that if Sony thinks too much about the popularity snowball factor of sales that they could block this...
It's no surprise that MS is opening up now and not when the 360 was in it's prime.

How great would it be not to be artifically segregated from friends though!?
I welcome this change from MS and hope nothing changes on Sony's end as they've previously been pretty open to cross-play.

This is incredible news... this is something I've wanted in games for 10 years. Finally.

And of course one of the best games of the generation would be at the forefront. Well done Rocket League devs!

Edit: ...unless this turns out to just be XBox/PC cross play (the article is unclear) then whoop-de-doo. It better be all three playable seeing as there are absolutely no technical limitations blocking this which can't be overcome.

"when you take a section of a game [...] and you create a trailer or render it (the section of the game for gameplay). The performance/graphics etc. will run better than when you render a whole game"

I really don't see how this is the case unless I misunderstand your statement...

It's not like just because you have a full game you are loading assets and textures from a scene 4 hours down the line. You're not rendering the end of the game...

I hope it's not the future either.

It's usually really weird when the two are mixed - like in animated shows or cartoons when humans interact with the world e.g. David Hasselhoff in Spongebob. Doesn't even have to be humans, just two different styles e.g. Jimmy Neutron x Fairly Odd Parents. I find if not done right these differing art styles look strange against each other.

Maybe this won't be too bad because they don't actually mix the s...

I've tried an on-rails rollercoaster with Occulus, it was pretty great. Still, I need some on-hands time with actual games in VR before diving in. I want to know how it feels controlling a character with a controller in VR and whether that disconnect is jarring. Need to know how comfortable they are with glasses also.

In general though, I'm very excited for a new way to play and for new experiences. There's some games I'd much rather play in VR than on a stand...
