I agree the design choice is a bit strange but I think the new cover looks great. The image you linked has too much going on and is full of cliche.

The new cover is unique and will stand out in a video game store... which is what they want.
A total war with mythology would be pretty sweet! I'd like to see that... or maybe a Rome 2... or a worldwide total war... or modern day... so many possibilities, lets just hope they keep making them.

It must have been pretty upsetting for the parents... I can sympathise with them as when you buy an E rated game you won't expect anything to insult you.

It's a great thing for gamers... cos I haven't played these games, or the splinter cell trilogy, so for me they're great. But... they are definitely milking the franchises..as in getting as much money out of them for the least amount of effort.

Multiplayer of CoD4 is amazing, and I assume the more recent ones are great too with their only problem having to live up to 4.
Beats UC2 multiplayer any day of the week. They're completely different but CoDs is definitely more fun to me. UC is all about the singleplayer anyway...1 was just as good as 2 even without multiplayer.
3 looks quite interesting multiplayer wise but if it doesn't get me hooked I won't be playing it for long. The only game...

I think fps are much more important than having destructible environments or slightly better visuals (CoD still looks pretty good unless you play with a magnifying glass). That's the appeal CoD has, very fluid when you compare it to other games. 60 fps will be awesome when it becomes the standard next gen.

They couldn't care less that all the 'cool kids' are hating on them... they're raking it in with their yearly updates. All the people prejudging anything CoD or activision are starting to get boring.
There's a reason all fps try and copy the CoD formula, it makes money. I also think it's fun, has very fluid gameplay and is easy to pick-up and play. Sometimes that's all a game should be...
