Who cares? Lower the graphics requirements then. I'd rather play Timesplitters 2 with friends than KZ:SF alone.

The most fun I've had playing video games has always been with friends playing local multiplayer... Timesplitters, Halo, Goldeneye. Could you imagine these games without splitscreen?

How good and highly regarded would the AC franchise be if they had produced AC1, followed up with the *full* Ezio story in one game, AC2, and then replaced the title Watch_Dogs with AC3 with Desmond in the lead role...over the space of about 6/7 years i.e a new title once every 2/2.5 years?
That's what the whole story was building up to, and was one of the reasons the game stood out from just being an open world adventure game, and got me hooked.
But alas...

He's joking about the device in that it evidently hasn't done enough to entice lots of people to buy. He's not slagging you for buying it. He's not even slagging the device for being rubbish, just for it's poor sales - which is a fact.

Yeh I agree, the world was too empty and there was too much slow travelling. Gunplay was good though.
I think GTAV looks like an open world Max Payne 3, which is fine by me. Max Payne 3's gameplay was a lot more fun to play than Red Dead Redemption.
Hmm, that's true there'd have to be some cooperation between Sony and MS. Would be a massive selling point for me if they worked something out... not gonna happen though.
Pretty glad they gave a mention to cross console multiplayer. It would mean you could play with your friends on a lot of games regardless of what console you have.

The DS4 in this pic looks absolutely hideous and deformed! Could just be the lens used but the Xbox controller looks a lot more stylish and sleek to me. In the marketing pic from the behind angle I like the DS4 but the front is not my cup of tea.
Just on looks, I would say the Xbox has nicer thumsticks, dpad, start/select buttons and is overall a nicer shape. The DS4 handles and share/options buttons are eyesores imo.

I agree with you about the hypocrisy. If you're talking about people's reaction on this site then it's pretty obvious why it was so wrong for MS but not for Ubisoft :P
But I think there is a difference between online requirements for a console and online requirements for a game. You might be willing to take the hit for a single game if it looks really good, but for every game throughout the entire console life takes a bigger jump.

There really nothing to back that up... since MP only games have been on PS3 and Titanfall could possibly appear on PS4.
A more likely explanation could simply be gamings trend towards MP. The game was probably in it's inception stage long before MS even hinted at an always online console.
They will probably be one of the selected used game retailers for xbox one which probably suits them more. It means they'll have almost no competition from independent shops, from gamers selling to one another directly and probably from online stores too.

Yeh, titanfall was probably the most impressive game shown, definitely as far as fun factor goes it did it for me. I was playing COD4 last night in some hacked lobby where gravity is set really low. Reminded me of titanfall minus the mechs. Great fun though!
Unfortunately MS have made kinect mandatory which pushes up the price and have taken their ridiculous stance on used games and DRM otherwise I probably would have gotten the xbox now that PS multiplayer is no longer free...

I honestly don't think people do weigh up the pros and cons when buying devices. Or if they do they put far too much weight into the image of a device i.e. how cool it is to own one. It's the main reason people buy Apple products in their millions. The feature set for everyday users is so close to the alternatives but at a hefty premium and yet people still buy it because of the brand appeal. Infact that brand appeal is so high putting an i before a word must b...

I think this is much worse than changing the voice of Drake. It would be more like changing the voice of Homer Simpson.. It's just so iconic to the fans.
This is one of the costs of gaming becoming more mainstream. Publishers trying to use names to help sell games rather than performances.
I'm still pretty confident the gameplay won't suffer for sales and am still hopeful that the setting of the game allows Solid Snake to appear with Hayter voicin...
Because graphics are not the be all and end all? I'd rather have fun with friends than burn that helghast glow onto my retinas.
