to not hear any more of those, PS3 is dommed articles and posts. I feel like the majority of last year was spent defending the system that I loved. How quickly things change.

and everything you mentioned there is going mainstream ... stop kidding yourself dude.

this jackass has less influence then Jack Thomson.

can we finally stop with the format war articles? It's over, toshiba has commented, BD has commented, Sales increase articles have been covered, MS take on the issue has been covered, DD has been covered and so has everything else.

Let's move on and be happy this format can take off to the mainstream now.

Martix triolgy, LoTR Trilogy, Transformers, Bourne Trilogy and please dear god now that there is one format, bring on Star Wars complete 6 movies in HD.

made that attach rate comment sound stupid. I don't really need to bring up the fact that the xbox has been around twice as long as the PS3 do I?

people don't have the drives to store the media. People that understand all of this also know not to trust drives. We use back-ups. We are talking two seperate terabyte drives to have a decent collection of movies. There's just way to many barriers that DD has to overcome before it is widely accepted.

consumer is also scared of storing media in any other form than a physical one. Most don't even have the capacity to store such media. We're not talking 5 mb MP3s here, were talking 9 gigs a movie. The average consumer doesn't have super highspeed internet. A lot of people in Europe, and now some in the states, experience bandwidth caps as well. There are plenty of barriers that make it hard for DD to penetrate the market. 5-10 years time DD might be more realistic but, it isn't all that plau...

was too short. It's the only flaw of the game. The reason I think HS was punished for it more then other short games is beacuse, the time spent playing the game was just so damn enjoyable.

Either way, these guys have a fan on their hands. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

they were talking about BD's victory in the format war. Someone complained about the price. Then somone pipped in, get a PS3. It's cheaper, better and plays games for the kids.

I know that having a Blu-Ray drive causes some people to buy a PS3 without a desire for videgames but, this is still going to push consoles and some of the consoles will buy games as well.

People who were on the edge about which system to buy might be persuaded to go Sony now that the fo...

thing to really take off, movies need to be available fast. A lot of people in the mass market aren't as connected as some of us here. They also need a place to store the media as well. So anyone else interested in DD better go buy an external hardrive for all those 9 gig movies. Better yet, you're going to want to buy two, that way you can back up your library in case your main drive ever crashes. Supporters of DD better hope a bandwidth cap never gets put into place as well.

there is definately a good amount of backpatting going on in here. Torjan horse or not, I'm glad it's over and that blu won. It going to be easier for the formatt to hit audiences and, I get to watch the rest of the movies that I wanted to buy. Also ... we don't need to have any more of these format war articles.

as long as it doesn't affect my save data, then I don't really mind writing over intial the 5G install data. I usually play a game and put it down for a while. Re-loading the data isn't all that big of a concern for me. Not all games use this anyway. You act as if I'm going to need a new HD in a matter of weeks.

I'm not saying they're always right ... just that they're safer. More "rumors" get posted online then get allowed to the airwaves. Plus ... the thing with ME isn't on the same scale as an entire format war anyway.

it's not like it's going to matter. Games have websites with updates on their progress now. People into gaming have the internet at their hands. A lot of hype gets built around our community and showing some content seems to almost be needed. As long as people care and fanboys exist, games will be shown before they're done. Some secritive games are the exception but, even those games have some level of media shown. IE: KZ2.

There's already an article about raised PS3 sales on Amazon since the death of HD_DVD articles have started.

it doesn't even need to cost that much more. A 40 gig PS3 with a BD drive is already 100 cheaper than an elite. The 80 gig is even in price. The 40 gig is right there with the Pro model too. Charging an extra 80 dollars, which is still cheap as hell and much cheaper then the HD-DVD drive, puts the 360 into a MUCH higher price range. From now on, unless a gamer is interested in DD, the PS3 will be the right choice for gamers who want HD media as well as games.

a lot of people that were on the ropes and were waiting it out now have a clear choice.

might have in this instance is that, the PS3 becomes that much more appealing to consumers who are going to want HD movies. Even some people on this site are buying PS3's now that they've heard the news. Even if MS makes a BD addon, it's going to cost more money when you consider a 40gig with a BD drive is cheaper than an Elite already.

DD and BD can battle it out all they want. BD will still be successful this gen. DD isn't as close as you like to think. A lot of people can't ...

as are a lot of people who frequent this site but, the masses are not connected as you put it. A lot of people aren't comfortable with the idea of DD or storage of that data. BD is taking off faster than DVD did and, the war has ended at a much faster pace then VHS/Betamx. While I think DD will play a role this gen, I don't think it's going to have the impact you think it will. Sure ... BD might not ever become as standard as DVD did because of DD but, by no means will it be a failure as far ...
