I still remember the NES under the Christmas tree when I was 8 or so. All those kids are going to grow up some day and, a good portion of them are going to stick with the hobby througout their lives.

I see this as a sort of turning point where video games becomes a more widely accepted form of entertainment. Maybe one day we'll see gaming competitions on ESPN2.

Right on brotha ... bring it to the other zone.

I just think the whole thing is supposed to blow people away. If your going for shock and awe, then they're going at it right. People freaked after E3 2005. Then they got let down only to be broght back up after E3 2007. Now ... here we are yet again, knowing this time that KZ2 was a monster in it's early build. We wait in anticpation of it's awesomeness. We hunger for it. Sony's letting this whole thing just brew. They're waiting for that moment to release the thing and wow us all.

and didn't even get to create a level which, is the essence of the game. Can't freaking wait.

That's a stretch if I've ever seen one. Not just the article and site but, it's content as well.

we've been HOPING for a release date before E3, I hope the next footage shown would be before that. As of now, I do think that E3 plausible though. If RFOM2 and MGS4 are due out this summer, Sony wouldn't want all of their inhouse monster shooters competing with each other. If that's the case then, look for KZ2 to come out closer to xmas.

And I was hoping for KZ2 this spring .... /sad

I feel you sonarus. They showed a playable level almost a year ago and have not givin us one update since then. To further that, they only showed us that much to combat the ES 2005 debacle. With that type of marketing and hype building of the game, it's only natural that people speculate it's arrival and it's success.

Personally though, I don't doubt this game. Take what you saw last year and add another year of Dev time to it. I think this game is going to be a monster.

I'm just hoping that wasn't some sort of Freudian Slip. Lord knows I want this game ASAP.

A lot of talk around the net about RFOM2 and now 8 days being top notch. I think it's time we see something further along then "pre-alpha" so people can shut up. Well ... shutting people up is a postive but, I really just want to see more damnit.

in there about 3 years into a consoles life cycle? Does that mean we ain't seeing this until 09'?

I also know that they will monitor the content that goes up but, will we be able to share our levels with out friends that are less then politically correct? Somehow I don't think this is possible but, I would like to get to play some of the more seedy creations that I'm sure will exist.

The only images of KZ2 were at the bottom and were old. The newer ones were of RFOM2

is that if you like the GTA series, buy this next one because it's going to be the last good one after EA touches it.

and the titles that they put out. There are a few that shine above the rest (Burnout) but, they generally put out crap. The thing is, the casual gamer doesn't know they put our crap. They don't care either. Most of the casual gamers will never notice a small framerate drop or the difference between two ports. The causal gamer will keep buying Madden year after year without any concern for innovation in the series. As long as the casual gamer exists, so will EA. There's just nothing you, or I ...

the game was fun as hell to play. It's only real lacking was the absence of split screen and the ability to jump into some quick matches. Giving us the ability to play racers with friends is crucial.

all that I wanted for this game. Add on a couple more tracks and some customization and were talking on kick ass game.

I would expect that though with 6 more months of work and time. That even happens when PS3 gamers get a game later then the 360. I don't like times exclusives because of it.

6600d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Right on. Generalizing Americans isn't any better then generalizing the importance of Japan.

Regardless how low Japan's numbers are for the PS3, it's part of the reason the PS3 outsells the 360 on a worldwide basis. A 20k a week difference on average puts the PS3 up 80k at the end of each month here. Those numbers combined with Europes numbers mean a lot for Sony. That reason alone makes Japan a hugely important market and is why MS has tried so hard to penetrate that market. ...

I don't see how Sony could let MS release another console a year or more ahead of them. It gives MS time to gain market share which is exactly what happened this time around.

attatch rate is somewhere at around the "five point something" range. I'm not really worried about software. You bring up interesting points about price cuts too. Hitting two markets at once with one machine means they need to not only think video games but also BD. Still ... I have more faith then ever that, a newer skew will be released to replace the 80 gig. I have a feeling prices would drop around then too.
