I'm curious to see how the PS3 sold in comparison to last months numbers due to this game. I'm also curious to see how it compares to the 360 sales increases due to this game.

games like GTA do appeal to the casual audience. People just don't want to pay a ton of money to play these games. The PS2 dominated the causal market. There's a lot of "hardcore" games on the PS2 as well. It didn't really take of though until it was able to hit that softer audience. The price and popularity have helped the PS2 have really long legs.
The higher end model PS3 and 360's need to fall to the 199 dollar price range before anyone of these casual gamers feels ...
VG even failed to adjust their numbers after the year when Sony said more then 10 million had sold.
I feel like most of the reviews have been out of emotion alone. I just don't see how this game can get SOOOOO many 10's when its clearly flawed to some extent. I still think the game is amazing but, I could never give this game anything over a low 9 and still feel rational in my decision making.

I mean honestly ... the reviews make this game out to be the best EVER. While it's fantastic, frame rate, pop in, clunky driving controls and a clunky hand to hand combat make the game far from perfect. I hate the fact that people have auto aim online too. Firstly ... GT5P is a prologue. It's not a full game. The online is going to be patched all the way to the final release. You call me a fanboy but, I'll flat out call that game a DEMO when most Sony fans wouldn't dare.

GTA4 has been said to look better on the PS3. Why would you care about resolution when the game is still going to look and play great. Supposedly slightly better then the 360.
MGS4 kojima interview was taken out of context. Everyone who's previewed the game thinks it's going to rock. Not just one of the previewers ... EVERY ONE OF THEM...

I'm not a graphics whore. I do like them, but I am capable of understanding and open world game isn't an Uncharted or GEoW. I still don't think this game should be getting all the 10's it's getting. The hand to hand combat is pretty bad. The driving is kinda "floaty".
I love the game and am going to play the hell out of it. Like you said, you can tell a lot of effort went into the game. It's not perfect though. I just think some of these reviews are a little tooo hyped...
