R6 Vegas get? Did it do anything innovative?
What scored did COD4 get? The single player was short. It was fun as hell but, it was short and did nothing innovative. It received praise for it's graphics, fun gun play and online.
What about Halo 3? What was innovative about that game? Not knocking the game as it's clearly a great title. But was was innovative about it?

Gears getting good reviews simply because of the graphics. It didn't matter if there were flaws because "THE GRAPHICS ROXOR!"
No one spoke of anything technically flawed in this game. The only criticism is that's its not revolutionary. Funny to since it's implementing a cover system not used in FPS often.
Xbox fanboys who said the 05 CGI trailer could not and, would not be matched? Maybe they can't say anything cause they have their foot stuck in their mouths.
While I think the criticism about color in Gears is ridiculous, coming into this thread and doing nothing but trying to flame people isn't any better. Check yourself out in a mirror lately?

Fact is, this game is going to be the best looking thing on a console EVER. If it plays as well as COD4 (which did nothing innovative at all in the FPS genre), it's going to be the best and most engrossing FPS ever. People never thought it would ...

It's forcing you to be cohesive. Most people can't just get online and find 30 friends to play with. It's hard to coordinate a 30 player team when you don't know 25 of the people. Playing in squads is forcing the game to be more tactical. I think it's cool how they're giving people squad based objectives. online component of Resistance looks to be totally overhauled with classes and squads. It doesn't even look like the same experience.
Then there's the online CO-OP this time as well.
I know the single player will kick ass but, this game looks to expand in ever aspect from the previous.
as innovation and creativity and originality, this game takes the cake. It's hard pressed though with all the critics circle jerking it to GTA4. Then there's MGS4 as well which, is supposed to be awesome.
in for the final game. At least as some sort of unlockable.

more cars ..... check
more customization ..... check
Even if the game has zero graphical improvement (destructible environments are though) then this game will still be incredible.
Actually I think Sony said they sold more consoles in Europe then the 360 has to date. I don't think they were talking about the UK though. I don't know what sales of GTA looks like over all Europe.
Yes they do look at attach rates. Especially when the PS3 is outselling the 360 WW now.
Still ... both companies should be happy. Both companies sold the game really well. Each camp has a talking point. MS has sold more and PS3 has higher attach rates. The one company that should be really happy is R*.

when was Haze ever hyped as much as Halo? I know you make sence. People giving Halo crap for the 640p thing got shut the hell up with MGO. I just don't see how anyone can really try to poke fun over this game. It's not really on people's radar like Halo or MGS is/was.

I mean these are casual gamers at best here. They're not online. They don't know that the game isn't supposed to substitute actual physical activity.
I'm sure most parents just thought, "it's rated for everyone, comes from Nintendo and my child really wants it."
I, personally, wouldn't be too happy about this as a parent. Especially when my child isn't in unhealthy condition.
