I played Destiny for the first 3 months or so of it coming out and quite enjoyed it until it grew a little bit stale and boring. I left and have not played it since..... until this week when someone went on about how it is still the best game out there and all the loot grabs made it sound like it would be worth getting into again. Especially with all the updates and stuff since my last play.
After a massive 18Gb of updating later I settled down to play it and after 2 days of playing...
Why do people constantly bang on about "A new Xbox in 18 months is just stabbing their fans in the back and shows they have no clue" when it costs more to own an iPhone/Samsung Galaxy than an Xbox, and people snap them up each and every year!
As long as it is backwards compatible with the previous 2 or 3 generations then it is EXACTLY the same business model that Apple, Samsung and more follow and it works perfectly for them, in Apples case making them the most valued comp...
Some good things I saw, but couldnt help feel that the map felt a bit sparse in places. I guess open countryside is good for snipers to take out soldiers from hidden in building ruins, but the sparseness and limited graphics (which I know will be polished a lot hopefully by launch) it did feel a bit like a 10 year old game of Medal Of Honour where it was hardware limitations that restricted having a lot of "environment".
I also felt like for the most part, I was watching a...
Having played both Overwatch and Battleborn on BETA I have to say that I quite liked both of them when you got into them. They both have lots of variety thanks to the different characters and abilities of each character. Both have a degree of strategy required, but not too much, and I love the fact that it takes a bit of exploring to discover what each character does and how to fully use them.
Yes, they both had some annoying flaws with controls and stuff but I found that the more I...
The decision sounds odd. If you only make it available to Deluxe edition gamers and say only 40% of people buying the game get the deluxe, you have 60% who can't play.
So will that mean the scenario is that on Day 1, you have loads of hyped and happy Deluxe gamers playing COD4...... Day 12 people are posting negatively that finding a full lobby of players takes nearly 8-10 minutes....... Day 20 and the boards are alive with people ranting how COD4 is dead already and that it tak...
If they are going to remaster them they need to just pick 3 of the best which is COD4, World At War and Black Ops. They need to improve graphics, add a couple of newer game modes to the playlists for each game and make all DLC/Weapon packs included as standard, then ship the lot for £19.99 and win themselves a big fat "Yes" from me!
Or better still...... isn't it time that COD decided to really push the boundaries of their own games and go back to COD4 s...
It isn't much of a surprise, the reason developers are turning away from Windows Phones and Windows 10 was because of the lack of interest and ego of Microsoft. So it is no wonder that they are doing the same with the Xbox.
It is a shame that Microsoft as a whole can't see that the real winner of the consoles is not the one with the best graphics, frames per seconds or resolutions, but the one that has all the great games and large library of amazing games.
It is a...
For me, gaming is a bit like art....... there are those who stand really close and count each and every single fine brush stroke on a painting and grades each colour on accuracy(the Frames per seconds addicts), and there are those like me who stand back, ignore the process and just enjoy it for what it is!
I do feel we don't live in a world where people love gaming any more. We live in a world where gamers are now forensic engineers who need to back-engineer every game ...
I can completely see what he is saying about consumers getting confused not by the word Beta but by how the industry treats them. Beta's used to be an unfinished but close to it game that just needed a bit of feedback and road testing by the community. But now Beta's are treated like Game Demo's or worse still, bonuses for pre-ordering a different game and getting in on the Beta. This is not proper Beta testing but just using a form of Demo game to sell other game copies.
I dont think the issue is Microsoft lacking commitment to gamers....
..... it seems more like Microsoft lacks commitment to ANY of its products. Be it X1, Windows products, Kinect, Windows Phones, Nokia/Lumia brand, Cortana, Game Studios, Surface Pro..... and so the list goes on.
Microsoft for the best part of the last 3 or 4 years seem to have bold ideas for new products and innovations but seem to have lost all idea on how to push the consumer into believi...
Love the game on X1..... hate the fact that people have found a way to become invincible and can't be killed, ruining the entire game. Think EA need to get patching it soon before it becomes an epidemic because right now the cheating is the occasional rare example but incredibly frustrating....... I mean, how can you stop the other team capturing the control points when one of their team can stand on the control point and can't die!
When you consider L4D and L4D2 came out BEFORE the successful hit show The Walking Dead even aired its first season...... and since its success and multiple movies/tv shows featuring Zombies that came off the back of that TV show...... this franchise is DESPERATE for an update!!!!
What I would love to see is a L4D3 that remains faithful to its original gameplay, but has maps several times bigger than the originals and 8-player co-op. Because the 4-player was stunning but I t...
For all those feeling stabbed in the back, just remember that you change your iPhone every 12 months..... for near enough twice the price, and you only get slightly improved features each time you upgrade. You don't have to, you can keep using the same old phone as it gets older and yet still works. But people still want the freedom to upgrade to the latest thing.
As long as PS4 still keeps working and people keep developing for it then it doesn't really matter if th...
I think Microsoft, from a business point of view, have played a bit of a blinder for the first time in years, by holding off and letting Sony invest heavily in this new technology.
VR has a lot of potential and is exciting, but then so was Kinect, and so was 3D Movies/TV's and look how they flopped commercially.
Why rush to compete with a company on an unknown quantity like VR, when they can let Sony be the innovators that take the first steps, see whet...
For the past year I have been keeping an eye out for what the GWG is going to be and if its a AAA title I have straight away put my disc version for sale on eBay. I usually get $20+ for it and then grab the same game for free a week later but extra money in my pocket for my next purchase.
I find that the value tends to still be fairly high pre-launch of GWG games because only hardcore gamers will know what the games will be the next month, where casual gamers or new Xbox owners are u...
You clearly are not old enough to have waited years and years for Elite Frontier! They put huge amounts of time and work into it, it was on a massive scale for the tech at the time........ and it sucked more than the cheapest whore in Los Angeles!
Hard work and grand plans do not maketh a fantastic game! Only when it is in many peoples hands and they are all in agreement it is good, will it succeed as a great game. Anything before that is just "huge potential" and n...
I think that the reason Fable Legends was cancelled is because they lost faith in its commercial prospects.
That being a Free To Play (FTP) game that it needed high volume of gamers with a decent conversion rate of spending gamers.
I believe a review of games in the Xbox One library and their subsequent gamer numbers have made them realise that they just were not going to get the long-term volumes they want to guarantee enough sales for external items like they hope...
I don't get it, why did anyone decide 30 days exclusivity was going to be a big factor in how many people purchase a console? Its not even a franchise with a huge fanbase, being that its a new game. It is hardly COD/FIFA/Minecraft, etc is it?
IF you are going to do an exclusive then do it for 6months or more. Make it feel like the wait is too long and you just got to have it sooner. 30 days?!? Most people spend half that time on the crapper reading a magazine!
Have to broadly agree with that list. But having said that most of those things are so minor they would hardly be classed as annoying (dusting the power button occasionally turns it on?) but more the a very slight observation.
The two on that list that stand out to me the most is the Controller issues where it drops out, which I have NEVER experienced since buying it near launch, so I wonder whether that is as much a problem with interference within the house as much as an a...
The only super interesting thing about all of this is that Fan Boys STILL actually believe there is an actual Console War going on between two sides and one will fly a flag on the corpse of the other one day, like this is some sort of real life Game Of Thrones..... and STILL don't realise that it is just two competing businesses who don't really care whether the others business is actually ahead in the sales or has a more powerful console, as long as their own profits are higher than ...
