People discussing why Microsoft are not going exclusive clearly have no idea of the bigger picture.
First it was Minecraft, then its Minecraft Story Mode which builds up the character and some sort of storyline background, which then leads to Minecraft The Movie.
How on earth are you going to get a massive audience wanting Minecraft books, toys, merchandise, go and see the movie, play the games, etc if you remove 60% of your worldwide audience from being a ...
That must sting a little for the company who are releasing it for free because I bet anything that was going to be a £10 DLC hoping to rake in a lot of money.
Very good for them to put customer service ahead of profit and offer it for free. In the long run they are going to reap the rewards for this decision even if its not the profit they wanted short term.
Halo Reach has to be the next DLC in the pipeline and I would suspect that will be a premium DLC.
or maybe VR should have been in the box WITH Kinect.... that way you could not only be IN the world, but you wouldn't have to hold on to a stupid controller while you did it!
VR + Kinect = Holodeck Version 1.0
Sony has a nice lead and the shareholders are popping corks over the PS4 success while booking a couple of lapdancers for the evening.
But oh wait now, X1 has just outsold it for November and Microsoft shareholders are now popping the corks over the sales figures being a MILLION sales in a month, best book a couple of lapdancers for the end of month party!
Xmas is almost here and stocks are flying off the shelves of BOTH consoles and both Microsoft and Sony...
Finally glad to see article writers actually doing a teeny bit more research these days and moving on from just straight console sales and instead looking at attach rates for games and other add-ons.
I find console sales alone are a bit boring. Unless there is a massive difference like PS4 launch week versus Wii-U launch week for example, then there is very little information to gain from knowing weekly "race results" for the hardware sales for anyone other than fa...
Anyone interested in their website and some older videos of the gameplay may be interested to check this out. http://no-mans-sky.com/pres...
There official website is currently down but still accessible as a Cached page on Google where you can see their developments of the game going back over a year.
I thought it was already discussed that performance benefits on X1 will be minimal but the exciting stuff for X1 is how quickly and easily it will be to port a game from PC to X1 (as little as a couple of days I think they said!) and that it could unlock the doors to a huge variety of PC games because it allows PC-centric developers a chance to port over quick and cheap a console version to a mass-market of millions of console owners.
If this is true, then this excites me a ...
It amazing the number of people that are saying "FPS OVER 1080p" and yet I get 9 disagree's for writing an intelligent response supporting that.
Maybe I might get more agrees by just shouting "P$4 ROKS, X1 SUKS"
One day I might set up a gaming news site dedicated to FACTUAL news stories and ban all the clickbait/speculation/fanboy stories! But then again there would only be about 10 stories a day to publish!
Resolution counts for little really. I bet 60% of people playing a PS4 probably don't even have their TV's set up correctly to make full use of 1080p and I bet anything half of those 60% don't even have a 1080p TV but instead a HD READY TV that outputs to 720p.
60FPS is noticeable though because no matter what the TV you can detect with your eye a slow frame rate over a smoother one.
I am not saying that Microsoft shouldn't have had more pow...
I think there will be a PS5..... question is, will Sony be the one to release it?
"Why didn't MS use their bazillions?"
"Why didn't MS pimp their console?"
"Why did MS price it higher for less spec?"
Because Microsoft are in the business to make money!
Build cheap, Sell high, Make more profit!
Regardless of whether PS4 is better or selling more units, Microsoft are still selling units in their MILLIONS and sticking on pretty decent attach rates for the big profit margin games ...
Its not the price that is the issue. Its the fact that people who have already paid £40 are now LOSING features (albeit temporarily) for a week. It should never be LOSE features if you don't buy DLC, it should be GAIN features if you do buy it.
As I stated earlier in the comments, how would you feel if they locked all Exotic weapons or armour you worked hard to get and upgrade, for a week unless you bought the DLC, or they decided to remove Multiplayer Crucible for ...
I have put in about 140 hours and still playing it and I would say it depends on what floats your boat on whether to get it or not.
If you are a big fan of Borderlands and love the whole idea of re-playing Borderlands over and over to see what loot you get and trying to get that next big thing or that next little update then you will probably really enjoy Destiny.
If random loot drops and constantly trying to get enough credits/xp/upgrades/parts to upgrade ...
As an Xbox One owner, I have nothing but sympathy for Playstation gamers. This attack is another in a long line of pointless, immature attacks at both consoles and the quicker they are caught the better. The only people they are hurting are the gamers who are paying subscriptions to play online and losing more and more gaming time because of it.
I hope Sony get back online quickly for everyone concerned.
I am sorry but did anyone actually notice them take it down the last time?
I think maybe 10 people said their friends lists were unavailable for about an hour and that was it?
I don't think they have the skills to do anything other than impact some services temporarily for an hour or so, hardly the Xbox Armageddon they seem to be boasting about is it?
Just a few sad little babies who can't get girls and think they are soooooo self-important...
Because Sony can do better? Nope.... they can't even keep their own office computers safe from hacking!
I would think it has more to do with a new logo for this:
http://www.sonyentertainmen...
Especially as they are using a similar logo about 25% of the way down the page with almost the same headphones and they want people to use the service more on the PS4, and the current logo for their site is a bit "meh".
It doesn't look like a VR symbol to ...
I take these type of demos and articles with a pinch of salt. Its ok saying "look at how amazing this looks, PS4 for the WIN!" but then didn't we all say that about Watch Dogs when they released a demo of the game? Or what about the amazing looking AC:Unity that is just the biggest joke of this generation so far?
Until the disc is in the drive and the controller in hand, I wouldn't set anything in stone or boast about things!
I dunno about the PS, but for X360 -> X1 I would say it is more like a luxury purchase than an essential upgrade! I can in all honesty say that when playing X1 games and then going back and playing a few X360 games the graphical difference is marginal! It isn't the massive upgrade in graphics that we have come to see in previous generational leaps and the games thus far are either re-masters (which I just see as pointless if you have already played them a great deal on another platform...
