Played it last night for about 3 hours and first impressions were a brilliant game that will grow on me even more the more I get used to play styles and map, etc. Absolutely love the pop up powerups that don't give a huge edge but make it fun, much more fun being able to grab them than to have to earn them like Killstreaks and will engage newbies far more giving them a chance to enjoy more powerful things like that.

Graphics on the X1 looked impressive (don't care ab...

Have to say that having played Battlefront games, Battlefield games, COD games forever and a day I still had little idea what I was meant to do on that level and took me 5 games to work out exactly what the uplinks were for and what we were meant to do with them. Bearing in mind I was in the top 3 on my team for about 60% of the games so I wouldn't say I am a complete noob, I do think a little more instruction from the developers is needed, especially if this is just one level and other l...

Offering older gen games for free is apparently a bad move, but offering older gen games that are streamed for a subscription price is apparently a fantastic option?

When did reviewers and game content writers suddenly get so biased in their opinions that they literally backtrack and contradict themselves?

Yeah, cos The Last Of Us on PS4 was such an original new game!

There was a rumour going around a year or so ago that Microsoft were trying to do a deal with the developer studios to get 8-10 of the best Original Xbox games and enhance them and sell all 8-10 as an Xbox Original Classics MegaPack (download only). For a price of a full AAA Title, you would get 8 to 10 games in one, all classic Xbox games with some slight enhancements to the graphics to accommodate the new hardware.

But as nothing was officially announced since I would pres...

Having bought an X1 and yet still play a lot of games on the X360 I am pleased to see this, because it means I get to play a lot of those games with the new hardware which is definitely a good thing. It is also brilliant if the 2 or 3 years worth of X360 Games With Gold free games transfer over so I can keep the huge library of free games I have collected as downloads and play them (Many of which I have yet to even play due to the sheer number and quality of them).

But.........

Because it won't! Even the developer of Hololens (who came up with the whole Kinect idea) is saying it may take a while for it to go commercial and maybe not in its current format. Because it requires voice input as part of its UI he has already suggested that it could take a year or more to just fine tune the voice commands to work 99% of the time or else it will fail.
That and the fact that even the developer kits are not going to be in the hands of a few "selected" d...

I heard the IOS and Android Xbox Live apps for streaming X1 games is heavily advanced and likely to be available by June for certain IOS and Android devices, and that X360 games will also be streamed to X1 and Tablet by the end of the year at which time Microsoft will push the X1 heavier and pretty much end manufacture of the 360 hardware and instead push 360/X1 and PC games as one single OS under Windows 10 or via apps on other OS.

Next Xmas could be a game changer for them...

There used to be a time that websites used to have a thing called a "Block" button and people who didn't like someone because they appeared to be trolling were just ignored. That way you didn't hamper the rights to express yourself (no matter how trolling it was) but your platform was taken away by the audience you are aiming at who didn't want to listen to you.

Banning people for trolling is just blatant censorship designed to remove any opinion someon...

Except this kit, like Kinect is already being used by companies outside of the gaming arena to great effect.
Virgin Airlines are investing in Kinect in onboard flights for inflight communication and entertainment, while South Korea uses Kinect 1.0 (modified) for motion sensors of the border with North Korea. And that doesn't even scratch the surface of how it is being used for medical and educational purposes around the world.
Meanwhile NASA are using this new headset for...

You control them through gesture and voice commands. It won't be released for a long time as they want to make sure gesture (and particularly voice) is at the level where it is 99.9% perfect every single time you request a command.

And the visuals are as clear as anything you would see on the TV. This is basically taking what you see ON a screen and tricking your eyes using light to make it appear within real life. You could literally be stood in your living room with wh...

Some journalists have already used the kit and found it unbelievable and mind-blowing, but potentially a few years away from a commercial release.
Its also worth noting they claim its aimed as a brand new way to user interface with a built in computer rather than a gaming add-on as a lot of people here believe.
A development kit is being given to 3rd parties this year and already NASA have been using it to allowance scientists to carry out investigations on Mars by allowing t...

Wrong, the best system for playing games offline is a board game or card game, that way you are not even relying on electricity to enable you to enjoy hours of entertainment. :P

Apparently most, if not all of those sites which were "hacked" were not even hacked, it was apparently malware that stole details from the owners computers.

It is also worth noting that they didn't just release 13K of passwords and credit card details, but also released a link to a free download of The Interview, which probably contains the same malware within it to then infect and eventually release even more passwords and credit card details in the future. ...

XBL is a bit intermittent at the moment. Works most of the day but occasional hiccups where servers suddenly drop or occasional log outs.
XBL and PSN will get better as they both get used to user numbers on their servers and Lizard Squad discover pornography for the first time.

Could be an inability to cope with demand, or it could be they just don't want to officially recognise their services were brought down by hackers. Its not something you really want to put out in a press release when you are hoping to show your increasing customer base their console purchase is the right decision and that their system is secure. Staying silent and finding ways to fix and secure it is often better than to spend time accepting your system is exploitable.

Still not sure what the great fuss is with people wanting re-mastered stuff, its just lazy programming to cash in on extra revenues. Its a bit like the "Digitally Re-mastered Star Wars" that came out, it was the exact same film looking ever so slightly sharper. It didn't tell any new story, it didn't give you any better an experience because it was never created for the digital era. It was just Star Wars with a bit of glitter!

Ahhh, yes.... but Ryse is one of the few games that were built for X1 and not 360. So it had the freedom to flex its muscles greatly. That was my end point, that until the 360 dies off and developers shift themselves to create X1 only games (or X1/PS4 should I say) then we will only see toned down games that make use of a bit of extra oomph to push games that also run on 360.

At the moment the lineup on X1 consists of a lot of multi-generation games, such as Destiny, Halo (a...

It is good to see these games free and I for one am happy to receive anything they throw at me, but I also get why a few commentators are unhappy because the GWG (and I suspect PS+ too) services are probably to a degree harming the indie developers. We all know that it is incredibly rare for a new AAA game to be given away and that those AAA games that do come are a good couple of years old or more, so they are not the ones with the problem.

But with the indie type games, wh...
