Rumour has it a brand new xbox console is coming out with an launch eta of 2021. With a revised X1X/S due end of 2019 with minor updates to fill in the gap for the brand new console. Thats just 4 years away, so whatever Sony does they need to do it quickly as they may end up with an X1X beater that is eclipsed within a few months after launch if they delay. And apparently the MS execs are making expenditure changes and some cutbacks in departments to free additional funds, to throw everything...
People are surprised 4k is not much different? Lol
4k is not even distinguishable on most TVs and require a different sofa position further away from a much bigger screen to even detect it.
HDR is what is noticeable more than 4k and it is this that XBOX X should be pushing on, rather than 4k. HDR can be seen far more easily over non HDR than you can see true 4k over non 4k upscaled. HDR can be seen on all modern TVs whereas on 4k you need a much bigger screen to ev...
THIS news is more exciting than 4K announcements and talk about UHD Blu-Ray drives. All that stuff is marginal stuff compared to the fact a PC developer can take a game and have it running at balls-out speed in just a few short hours.
With that potential it is a no-brainer for a PC developer to create a PC game AND an Xbox One X copy, because it will automatically hit a multi-million gamer customer-base with very little cost to develop it. No more needing a large second development ...
Although I do feel VR is a bit of a slow thing that will always be a accessory in a niche rather than a mainstream way to play and watch things...... I am surprised with their decision to not try and push VR a little more with the new Xbox Scorpio (I refuse to do all them XXX's)
I understand not wanting to develop their own VR at great cost on a platform that Sony is finding is not rewarding them financially enough for their investment yet, but surely they could have worked with...
I think fanboys in general are clueless to be honest. They are so fixated on Backwards Compability and how often it is used they miss the entire point of it.........
It is a massive marketing tool for Microsoft on 3 fronts.
1 - The most obvious is offering a "handy" but not essential feature that is better than what their rivals offer. Even if only 5% of people use it regularly it doesn't matter as long as potential future customers who wan...
To be fair, there might be more usage of 360 games amongst new console owners if they did not have to enter credit card details to download 360 games. A lot of people possibly buy the X1 and do not have a 360, and do not wish to set their payment settings to be able to download the Games With Gold 360 games.
So either they use a 360 to download then transfer them, or they go without and stick to the X1 free titles. This single issue that could be easily fixed, would soon make 360 ga...
Good, free to play will be better. They were stupid to release it against Overwatch. Having played the Beta it seemed fun but not enough fun to carry me for longer than a few short hours and although I would like to play it again, I wouldn't want to pay for it. As a free game it will certainly get a lot of interest and I think it would be good to do a Battleborn 2, learn from all its mistakes and bring out a much better sequel, that isn't launched the same time as a similar and vastly...
Taking the price and specs aside from this......... that Gold is Bleurrrghhh! Anyone who buys it in that colour will forever look like Goldmember in my eyes, full comb over and everything!
Pre-Ordering is such a dinosaur relic that was invented to make sure games sold big on opening weekends by counting in sales from weeks before launch, while at the same time making sure there was enough stock to go around without over-ordering.
That has completely disappeared now that digital downloads are in infinite supply, getting rid of stock supply issues, and retail figures only matter for so long while the videogame industry catches up with the 8 year headstart that the music...
Gut feeling.....
All new Scorpio's to get 3 months free Season Pass in the box so that everyone gets an instant library of 100+ games to play the moment they unbox it. The marketing perks, high Scorpio price and the fact that many people will re-subscribe at the end of the 3 months to not lose it will eventually pay for itself, while the rave reviews and free marketing for Season Pass from an enthusiastic press will boost original Xbox One subscriptions for people want...
I hope the public, press and even Microsoft don't try and judge this Season Pass on its early months of launch because it will fail if they do.
This is an excellent new way to offer games that has worked well for the TV and Movie industry, but they are doing it off the back of the Games With Gold promotions which is instantly going to harm its launch success.
The fact is as a newcomer to Xbox it will be worth a lot of value, but to a long time member who has ...
I wonder if Scorpio Destiny 2 will allow you to play with PC Destiny 2 players. Scorpio being the first system that is comparable to a budget PC system and with development lately to work harder to make games for PC and Xbox so quick and easy to port over between the two, and crossplay been hinted about by Microsoft all year, particularly in their comments lately that Sony refuses a PS collaboration on crossplay, as if they are trying to build up negative amount of press about Sony refusing a...
Microsoft were not so much disappointed about the gameplay but the fact it was a new IP that had limited spin-off potential. Apparently that is why it was canned in the first place, because they are not interested in one-off games, but big franchise potential that they can grow beyond the single game into sequels and other non-game related markets.
Now they are renewing it and are wanting a totally different direction for the IP so that they can create something that can be franchis...
Switch will flop or fire on all cylinders based on content in 12 months. To guarantee success its going to need 70+ games with at least 25 of them getting 4 out of 5 stars in web reviews, for it to have a strong chance of succeeding.
If 12 months from now it has less than 40 games on the market, and less than 10 have at least 4 out of 5 star ratings, people will grow bored and there will be more sales on eBay than in retail which will only lead to developer support growing thin and ...
Why would someone like Microsoft worry about this. Even if it turns out to be the holy grail of gaming features that lets switch blow everything out of the water....... Microsoft would just add it too...... and so would Sony. Its hardly something that is exclusive to Nintendo alone and won't ever appear elsewhere. It is just another service that can also be added to any other console should it prove to be popular, and ignored and resources spent elsewhere if its a under-used flop.
I think the biggest difference and best thing going for Scorpio is not so much power (it is clear it will be better than any other console on that front which is what it will be competing against) but stability for developers. It has a single specification that can be developed for that spec. The games made for it can be created to cram every inch of performance out of that spec and as such every developer is writing from the same rule book. From a PC viewpoint, yes most PC specs can perform...
I dunno about anyone else..... and I am not knocking the skins here as I love them as much as anyone and think its a huge selling point....... but when the enemies are highlighted red in the game, do you actually see much of the skin? All I seem to see in the middle of an epic battle is a red D.Va and a red Zarya, and a red Reinhardt, and a red Mercy. The skins only seem to be noticeable when you see your own teammates.
Microsoft need to stick to what they have always done brilliantly, which is make a fantastic multiplayer experience that is second to none, and then push huge multiplayer games on it.
Think back to X360 and PS3..... you used to hear nothing but great things about Xbox Live and its ability to offer a brilliant robust multiplayer experiences, usually with a lot of games also available on PS3 and yet people would prefer to play them on X360. Yeah they had a few exclusives at the time l...
If counting pixels and how they are displayed is more important to you than what the games are like...... you have lost your way with gaming.
