If I was Gabe Newell, I'd demand these guys give refunds or get delisted, and on top of that, refuse to put any of their future games on Steam, though from the sounds of things, it seems like the studio and its creators are going to get blacklisted anyway.
Maybe the dude in charge can go work on Big Rigs 2.
At first I loved getting Achievements and Trophies, but now I don't even pay attention to them (except when one unlocks). I think my issue with them is that because I wanted them, I started playing the game with an eye toward the achievements, rather than the game itself. However over time I just got tired of it and played just for fun.
I'm happier gaming now, though it's still fun to get that little sound and notification. It's like dessert rather than a mai...
And there's the sequel and DLC...
I just bought this game (the original PS1 version) last week, and so far it's an amazing game. I love the art, the story, the gameplay, them music... basically, I can see why the game costs as much as it does online.
I strongly disagree with the inclusion of Super Meat Boy on the list. It's hard as hell, there's no doubt about it, but the satisfaction after beating a level that killed you repeatedly for the past 20 minutes was great.
It totally worked. My years of NES, SNES, and N64 (and some Gameboy) experience doing it is proof enough for me.
Usually the best way, though, was q-tips and rubbing alcohol.
Time Magazine has always been ridiculous with their choices on anything tech and game related. This is no exception.
What a worthless piece of shit. I hope he enjoys getting fisted in prison.
But if you play as a rookie moron, who is going to tell him to hide until the raspberry jam comes off his eyes?
You could still give your entire donation to charity, so I don't think they've really lost what makes them who they are. While I do mostly associate them with indie games, to me they're about getting a great deal and giving to charity in the process.
My gaming shame is that I'm not a fan of Half-Life 2. I don't dislike it but I also don't see its greatness. I feel bad that I don't "get it"... makes me feel like less of a gamer.
I saw that it would be hitting on that Monday, so I made sure my account was ready; I have the Skyward Sword Wii remote, so I wanted this to go alongside it. Still, I'm surprised it sold out so quickly again, as 900 coins is a pretty big number to hit.
I always loved their collector editions, because they came up with some of the craziest ideas for things to include (at least in terms of what hit America at the time). The Ghalleon punching puppet, the solid metal amulet, Growlancer's watch... they really went nuts with the extras. Same goes for their packaging, which always had foil prints and really nice paper for the manuals. I enjoyed all of their games as well.
As for "unheard of," most people I know like...
From Games Radar: "South Park: The Stick of Truth's release was pushed back from March 5, 2013 to "early fiscal 2014," meaning a delay of likely a few months."
Is THQ going to survive long enough to get this one out?
After all the times Best Buy has said they've had a product online, then sent me an e-mail within a day or two saying they didn't actually have it, I won't order from them anymore. Best Buy Business says they have Wii U's... somehow I doubt they'd fulfill the order.
Tons of people playing a popular game online within 24 hours of its release? Color me shocked.
I'm with you guys on the Ni no Kuni Wizard Edition. I preordered it early after my near-miss with the Borderlands Loot Chest, and it turned out being 3 days before they did the cut-off for it. I'm looking forward to it.
The best place to get used games (and rare ones) in my experience are local pawn shops. They're hit-or-miss on what they have, but you can get some amazing deals.
I got mine last year off of Amazon, complete, for 80 bucks (used). Motivated seller, I guess, because the next time I looked at the price for the game was 120+
I love seeing con artists get their day ruined.
